I got this printer for school work and personal use. I do a lot of printing for school and needed something that could keep up with that. It does everything that I needed to do the pages come out clear, the quality is great and it prints pretty fast. I also tested out the photo printing and it came out pretty good. One of my favorite features is being able to connect it to my smart phone. I can scan stuff on the printer and have it show up on my phone and vice versa. If you looking for printer that does a little bit of everything this is a great buy.

I am very pleased with my new printer/scanner. It was very easy to wirelessly connect it to my PC. The print quality is excellent, and scanning is easy. (I do not need fax capability so I never set it up for that.) Some things I could not find in the hard-copy instruction sheet but found my answers in the online manual. I would recommend this printer. ALSO, I really like HP's Instant Ink program. Basic (free) plan is printing of 15 sheets per month and new ink mailed to me when they determine I need more.

I purchased the HP OfficeJet 5255 printer for a home office, and I could not be happier with my purchase. The printer was very easy to set up, both for wireless connectivity via WiFi and USB connection to a PC. Color images and black & white are sharp and clear, and print speed is much faster than my old printer. Copying is easy to do (I have not tried the fax), and the menu selection panel makes it easy to select the desired printing options. Highly recommended!

Printer for the Home

This printer was simple and didn’t have all the “extras” of some other printers, but that was perfect for me. Why pay for something I wouldn’t use much? Since this printer was only being used for normal home needs the price point matched my budget and the printers abilities matched my needs. This printer is very reliable and clear (print and scan) and the wireless feature is slowly becoming my favorite feature as I can work and print from anywhere in my home. Overall, great printer, great price!

The hp OfficeJet 5255 is a good value at its current price and is easy to set up. Many people seem to have trouble with printers cooperating during set up and afterward via connection issues and performance. I had no such troubles and although the software installation is a bit glitchy in the way that it functions--- specifically when screens appear and go away after completing a stage of the process... then trying to get back to the rest of the software install. A good example of this issue is the registration of the printer and should be left 'till the end, if you can skip it, so this will not be a confusing event in the middle of the rest of the process. Still, i managed to get through it with comparatively minimal effort. The printer itself performs well for it's intended use which is for home use of medium output levels. If you have a home business with a fair amount of everyday printing... then either use this exclusively for that and not also kid's schoolwork and your photos ., etc., or--- buy a more 'Office', Officejet model, designed for heavier output loads. This model, the 5255, works very well and prints a very crisp page, for a 60 dollar printer. I am sure if you wanted to use it for business cards and other light home business printing materials /chores... you will be very satisfied. The web-connected functions and ability to use a specified email address for the printer to receive printing commands works quite well and is very handy should you need that function/convenience. If you have realistic expectations for this model's capabilities, the OfficeJet 5255 will more than likely exceed them and prove to be a very good $ to performance value.

This printer replaced an older HP Deskjet printer I use at home. This printer prints really quick, It's easy to setup, and it updates the firmware on its own; as long as, you're connected to the internet. The wireless and scan feature is an easy setup. The HP Smart App that's downloadable via Windows-10 , iOS, and Android makes it easy to monitor your printer and its different capabilities. HP did a great job with this printer.

I am in awe with this first ever HP printer. I have mostly used 2 brands: Epson and Canon but for some reason I got this one for a try and I am not returning it. It is not heavy, you can print, copy fax, it is bluetooth linked, wireless. It works so far like a charm for me. It's a printer I recommend for students, people working from home. It can take a good chunk of paper and the printing is really nice, superb colors, deep dark too.

Had to buy a new printer after my old HP printer decided to die. The silver lining was that I bought this mode to replace it.. What a fantastic printer! Easy to setup! Easy to use, I print wirelessly and easily from my Apple iPhones and iPads. The ink cartridges are easy to replace too and the paper tray is conveniently placed in the front of the unit for easy loading. Well made and thoughtfully planned out. I definitely would recommend this unit.

This printer arrived quickly and the setup was quite easy. I connected it to my pc and my phone at the same time. It's fairly fast, quiet, and prints a nice page. It's very affordable too! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it's new and I haven't used it enough to know if there are any cons. I signed up for the free ink replacement and got my first set of replacement ink a few days later!

OMG - Emergency Purchase turned out to be the best

OMG - Emergency Purchase turned out to be the best printer we have ever had. In the middle of a printing job for a client. Our old printer crapped out. We ran like the wind to get a new. We had a deadline to meet; I really did not like our last one. It was crunch time we began running around the printers. I did not like any of them I was in a panic. That is until I found this beauty - Sleek modern design, smaller than my last, which is a plus. I have more space in the office now, getting work completed in half the time. Does everything I need it too. Print, Scan, E-mail. Find yourself needing a new printer or just wanting one. Look no further this baby is the one. Highly recommend to all, students, homemakers, business owners.

This printer is probably one of the better printers that I have used, quiet, speedy, and easily set-up - but - now comes the caveat...HP pushes their ink service down your craw - if you do a lot of printing, it may be worthwhile, but I don't and it doesn't make financial sense. The set-up is geared to automatically default to this service, and finally I had to get rather rude to get it across to the CSR at HP I didn't want their service. Now, all is good!

Right out of the box it was easy to plug in and start up. The WiFi set up was a simple process with no glitches. The black and white as well as the color copies are pretty crisp for an inexpensive printer. It's compact size doesn't take up much space on the desk. And because its lightweight, I can move it to any room in the house. The HP smart app makes printing super easy from your phone or tablet.

The printer is excellent. Setup was easy with the app. Instructions were a little vague with only pictures to go by. Print quality is great (though I haven't printed any color yet.) Print from the phone option is awesome. Construction is well executed with a sleek and smart design. It runs quiet and very quickly.

Good Basic Printer

I have had this printer for almost two years without issues. It is very easy to setup and comes with software that will allow you basic functions: print, scan, etc. The software is pretty basic thou so don't expect many editing capabilities, i.e. it doesn't let you break down multiple scanned pages into different files, so you have to scan and save each page at a time. The print quality is good, and the cartridges get you an adequate number of prints. It is not the most efficient in terms of prints, but it is not bad either. If efficiency is a concern for you, HP has an online program that will monitor your ink levels and send you cartridges at discount. I decided not to enroll in this program since I don't print that much. I believe this does double side printing without manual input which is unusual for printers at this price point. It does have a feeder which should work with multiple pages, but I haven't tried it yet.
I know that there are other good printers out there at this price point (<$200), but I like that I can set it up wired since a lot of printers out there are only wireless nowadays.
I got a good price during Black Friday so I am happy with my purchase.

Easy set up. Printer is shared between two computers, two HP's and a Apple I pad, works like a charm with wireless application. Print is clear and color is vivid every time. Easy to load paper. Printer takes up operating space. Have had printer for over one month and so far no problems. Defiantly would recommend the OfficeJet 5255.

This was the easiest printer to install. I only used my smartphone to install. It prints and scans from my smartphone as well as the traditional methods. I had no idea what technology I was missing until I purchased this printer on Good Friday and the price was awesome!!! I told my team at work about my purchase because I was so excited and impressed with the printer!

I have used a different brand of printer for the last 6 years.Wireless connectivity was getting more difficult and not at all from a phone. The HP printer was easy to set up , runs great , both fast and prints well. I am impressed and will look into other products from them as a number of my electronics are getting long in the tooth.

This HP Wi-Fi printer is easy to install and print from a Mac, PC, or a mobile device, and easy to connect to network. Suggest download executable installation program via Chrome or Edge browser.
