I really wanted to like this laptop. The display is fantastic. Unfortunately, the keyboard sometimes does not recognize the keys that were pressed. Reading the reviews and forums indicate this is a more widespread problem than it should be. This would be a great laptop if not for the keyboard.

I use this laptop both for college work and some gaming. It does not disappoint in any regard. I mostly play lighter games like League of Legends, Golf with Friends, and Fall Guys and everything plays with high FPS on high/very high graphics. This can definitely be used for more intense gaming as well, but I loved the design and for a sale of $1499 how can you go wrong.

Excellent performance for the price, quality could have been better. Excellent for content creation and decent gaming. It can play most AAA titles from 2016 and later on high to ultra settings smoothly. I am not picky about FPS but I am getting more than 60 FPS at different graphics settings and that is morethan enough. If you prefer something sturdy and premium looking, look for Razor or MSI.

very fast and the colors are excellent plus I no longer worry about having enough drive space to install my games and photos. I also have the power to play the latest games and do some detailed photo editing. it is also light enough that I can take it with me on my weekend trips which is not practical with my 17" omen.

I love this laptop, very slick looking out of box. The screen feels fairly flimsy and the keyboard has a left sided orientation, which for me is ok but for some it can get uncomfortable. It has the rtx 2070 max-q chip not the 2070 super like I saw in some of the reviews, but it preforms amazingly.

I love this computer. It is very fast, the video is amazing, and the audio is great. I don't do gaming, but use the laptop for photo editing. It is a huge improvement over any other computer I have used and at a great price point. Highly recommended.

This is a very powerful laptop. It’s still a little early to give a full review, but after several hours of use and gaming, I am still impressed with this laptop. The fans are very powerful and very loud, but they keep the laptop running smoothly.

For the scimmers, this is the labtop to get IF and ONLY IF there are no 1080p screens with 144hrz+ screens. (They make the very same one in a 144hrz but instead of 4k its 1080p, TBH I got the 4k 60hrz and its a gamiong laptop so i cant really play warzone on it and get the non screen tearing frames i want to . But with that in mind and out of the way, i have to say this is one of the bertter buys ive made in a very long time. im not getting paid money or talked into doing this review. this is me trying to let people know that buying a laptop, (if you have to travel like to the hospital alot or if you live in one place but work in another., istsan appopriately priced laptop, ESPECIALLY with the chip shortages, and honoestly the hp software doesnt bog the system down much at all. laptops have come SO FAR now-a-days and i am proud to own mine..

The laptop has amazing specs for the money. Most people reading this review probably already know that, so I won't go over what others have already said. That said, my unit had a defective keyboard. It's a very strange issue. Each key works fine when you hit it individually. But when you're typing certain letter combinations, it skips letters. For example, any word involving "ion" drops the last letter "n" so you have to either peck the letters out one by one (which is annoying when you're trying to write anything longer than a few words!), or else you have to go back and fix all those missing letters. I guess any time you buy a laptop, there is a risk that something can be faulty, but I'm still a little disappointed that a device that costs over 1500 dollars didn't get basic quality control right. I did the necessary troubleshooting through HP support, and they ended up telling me the unit is defective. It seems like this issue doesn't come up too often, otherwise you'd probably see it mentioned in more reviews. Still, it's not something I'd want to roll the dice on myself, and I think HP should do better quality control.

I feel like I threw away $1600 with this laptop. I was looking for something powerful and this seemed to do it... at least on paper. Rendering time is actually not too bad, even in 4K, but this laptop is plagued by serious hardware/software problems. Here's a few: - Windows Explorer keeps crashing - The SD card reader has completely destroyed 2 of my MicroSD card, making me lose days and days of filming and therefore causing the loss of several episodes for my YouTube channel, some of which filmed in Italy. - The screen is all permanently scratched just by touching the keyboard when it's closed (and I haven't even used the laptop that much) - The USB ports on the right side seem to have a problem, will not recognize an external drive and the computer will not boot if a device is plugged in those ports. No problems with the USB on the left side. - The fan is extremely loud when ON (which is almost always). - The battery never lasted more than one hour, even when using just a web browser. And full battery will die quickly even when computer is off. I wish I had known all this before buying, I would have looked elsewhere. Unfortunately I have to say HP has always been junk and sadly this has not changed. This is my 3rd HP computer and I guess I finally learned my lesson.
