    Best Printer I've ever owned

This printer is by far the best I've owned, I bought it to replace a 4yo Canon color printer that came with my computer. This printer does everything except for faxing which is something I really don't need for what I use it for. Wireless setup is a breeze, I have this printer connected to my computer with a USB cable and have it setup wireless for my laptop so I can print stuff accross the room while my wife uses the main computer and vice versa. I also like the fact that you can connected wireless via Bluetooth technology (when you buy the adapter which is not included), this is really neat because I can print stuff from my PS3! Overall, this is a great buy, got it online (it is like $20 cheaper online than it is at the store) plus I got an additional $10 off when I picked it up 'cuz I had to wait more than 1 minute for them to get it for me, it was well worth the wait.

Set up was a little troublesome, but that was probably my fault, salesman said I might want to use a usb cable to set up, that did not work for wifi set up at all ,once I figured that out wifi set up went very smooth. It's a bit slow and noisy other than that all is well. I would highly recommend at a lower price point.

Purchased the KODAK ESP 7 at first Noise and Quality was a issue. Took back and traded for this. Right off I could feel the difference in Quality just by taking out of the box. Set up was twice as fast and the noise factor compaired to the kodak made it a winner.

I've had this printer less than two months and for normal household printing, I have had to replace the ink twice and am getting ready for the third time. The Canon I had before I would go almost 6 months before needing to change ink. Printer shakes the desk it is on, and takes a long time to ready itself for printing.

My boyfriend bought me this printer for Christmas and I love it. I can print from anywhere in my house. I did have some trouble getting it to communicate with my Lenova laptop but it may have been because I use an aircard. Now it works great.

    Disappointed in HP

I have had HP printers in the past and I NEVER had this problem. This one makes so much noise, not only when it is trying to set up.but all the time. I can't stand it.I could understand if this was one of the cheaper models, but, this one my husband bought for me and the sales man told him it was great for pictures.Well, that may be true, BUT, I want more from my printer. Like a nice smooth QUIET print. NO clicking. I have Vista & now I wonder if this is why I am haveing problems with this HP printer. No matter what, It is still NOISEY. I don't like it at all!

This is the worst printer, constant problems with it. Uses ink like water, have to replace cartridges at lease once a week. I want my money back or a different printer. Prints incredibally s-l-o-w. Hate it!

Not for the "Faint of Heart"

THis was to be used with a Vista desktop, Vista laptop, XP desktop and XP laptop. First tried to set up wirelessly- didn't find network. I realized that my primary desktop was not wireless, so I installed wireless D-link. Set up was very intricate. Finally got it connected, but the first laptop failed to connect. There was a problem with the CD, so I downoladed the driver. That worked, but time consuming. I am still trying to connect to other computers. It is my third day. I did try using my ethernet connection for my primary connection and it worked instantly. Unfortunately, you can't have both wired and wireless.

This HP Printer is all-in-one, and it's very useful. It prints reasonably fast and it comes out in fine quality for documents. It is a very nice little printer that is worth the price.

I had a portable photo printer that fell off my desk and broke. It only printed 4x6 pictures only. This one prints 4x6, 5x7, 8x10 etc. I have another printer that does the same as this printer but I like this one better. The pictures are a lot clearer. I have to go into my computer to use anything on it with this one I don't. I think that I will be using this one more then my other one. I take digital pictures only and I use a printer a lot. I would recommend this one to anyone. I got it on sale and that makes it even better.

    Horrible printer lost wireless connection

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This unit lost the wireless connection and even HP tech support cannot make it reconnect. I spent a total of 4 hours watching HP download drivers 3 times and install about 6 times and it failed everytime. They even edited the registry and deleted some USB entries which had nothing to do with the problem and made me furious. Doing setup on the printer it found the wireless router and would print out the IP address and said everything was working. That is until it ran out of ink from tech support doing this over and over and over. When you went to the computer and pinged the IP address it found the printer but when you installed the software it refused to find the printer. Tech support tried at least 10 times over the 4 hours they tried to make it work and it failed every time with the same error messages every time. When they finally gave up then I had to wait another 15 minutes for it to uninstall the software and send the failure log to HP to try and figure out what was wrong. I hope to make this the very last product that I ever buy from HP as every HP product I have bought in the long run has caused me a lot of aggravation. It may work fine with a cable but kids lost the cable and HP wants $28 for a new cable after wasting 4 hours of my time fixing what was a working printer.

    Excellent Photo Printer!

This is an very nice printer at a reasonable cost. You can print pictures from the printer itself which is convienient. The pictures are all in high resoultion and pretty quick in printing photos also. The demo ink that it comes with went by quick appox 30 pictures but I had 30 pics in excellent quality, so its well worth it. When planning on buying extra ink get the large ink bundle which the sales rep recommended. (I've scanned a copy of the demo picture)

Great software inconsistant print quality & noisy

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I really want to love this printer. The software is great. OCR on scanning can scan complicated magazine articles strait into Word with the results fully editable. Scan to PDF single or multi-page, all worked great and wirelessly. Start a scan and the printer asks which computer on your network to send it to. Some of the slickest software I've used on a printer/scanner. However, this printer is going back to the store. Trying to print a simple document with a color header and logo resulted in different colors every time I print. No magenta one time, so run head cleaning. Next time no blue. Set everything to highest quality and way too much overspray and too dark. Everytime I print different colors. Hopefully this is just a bad unit, but it gets expensive burning through ink doing head cleanings that don't seem to fix quality. It is a noisy printer too. Pay attention to reveiwers that have mentioned that. It sounds like there's a raccoon inside the printer thrashing around when it starts up!

    Piece of Junk

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Bought this on sale. Wireless works well and was not too difficult to set up. Problems started with loading the software on my computer. The Print Support Center keeps opening up and I keep getting pop up messages telling me the printers status. I did a custom installation of the software so I could avoid getting all the junk that comes along with the operating software. Contacted HP Support to try to fix the problem but, 1. They have no clue about the Windows Vista operating system, 2. They have not been able to help me fix the problem. The printer is slow and eats ink like a pig. Picture quality is okay, but not as good as it should be. Does not support printing 5 x 7 photos.

printer is not up to grade as far as using ink and really makes too many noises and takes too long to start printing. I was happy with the 5280 and was told this was comparable to it but in my book it is not except for in looks.

The experience with this printer has been very positive. Prints quite fast and with good resolution. It tends to "wet" pages a little bit more than I would prefer however that is something you can change in the settings luckily.

Took over 3 hours on phone with tech support to print first copy. Still can't scan directly to PC. Also will not save photos directly to PC. Print speed inconsistent...fast most time but often takes up to three minutes to start printing first copy. Bought this printer for wireless feature but this is where the problem seems to be....will try using ethernet network setup although this will defeat purpose for purchasing wireless. If your considering this printer for wireless feature you had best forget it. Ready to return in spite of restocking charge.

The set up was quick and easy - I installed it onto a PC desktop and a Mac laptop. I installed both wirelessly at the recommendation of my salesperson and I agree with his suggestion. I printed several photos and all came out better than at the lab. I have also printed many documents and they all came out nicely. The screen is wonderful to have - lets you know what is going on at all times. The price was incredible - got it for 50.00 off and then received a 30.00 gift card. You can't beat the price. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a printer that gives you excellent quality photos along with documents.
