Great printer and caught it on sale. Originally wanted a laser printer, but they were a bit out of my price range. Comes with plenty of ink, and says two years worth, but it will probably last me more than two years. Have already used this printer on multiple occasions and produces great-quality color images. I have probably printed somewhere around 300 pages of stuff so far for school and the ink levels on all tanks are still nearly full. Great value for the money. Set up and wireless connection is super easy and air print is a nice feature I have used multiple times.

Best Copier ever!!! Definitely get the app on your phone/device makes using the copier much easier. Love the fact that the ink last so long and doesn’t dry out when not in use for a prolonged time.

Very easy printer to put together and really enjoy using this printer. Looking forward to just using the ink in the tanks and hoping it will cost me less over the years since it’s supposed to last up to two years.

Hassle-free installation for me as an average techy guy. Love all the features that this printer offers, and especially the fact I don’t have to worry about those expensive ink cartridges.

    Challenging to Operate

Found this challenging. Everything operates pretty much digitally . This is fine if all goes well from initial set up. It did not work easily for us and finding online help was challenging when we got stuck. Once we got it set up, (that took several attempts over a couple hours), I still had issues. Pretty much sure scanning can no longer be done from the printer itself…no physical button…it is entirely online. There is no physical instruction book to refer to that covers issues and operations beyond set up. I am a senior, so I am somewhat digitally challenged. It did seem like it was easier to send digital documents from the HP app on my phone from this printer than my old HP. When I attempted print jobs, not so easy. Was trying to print photos and had no success. After lining up and loading the 4x6 photo paper without clear instructions how to place it, I could not get it to print. Tried it to the left and to the right, since there was no manual to refer to. Did not work either way. Even with changing the paper size to 4x6. I finally used regular paper and had to cut it to size. Then, last night, I tried to print a document I needed with a form and it only printed the instructions and that was on separate sheets, instead of on one document front and back. After several attempts and lots of wasted paper, I got two to print on separate sheets from the attachment sent in an email to my phone. Maybe I just need to get used to this printer…and new technology… maybe this is the new standard for printers, but went for this for price. I think I got more than I bargained for. At this point, I am hoping I can adjust to the new device learning curve, but hasn’t won me yet.

I like the size and shape of it and we have used it quite a bit since purchasing, for printing, copying and scanning. It has worked very well for all our needs. Filling the ink tanks is also very easy.

It is a very practical all-in-one printer. However, the guidelines were not clear on the scanning set-up. The instructions should clearly state in bold print, "for scanning set-up go to the following link. I was about to return the printer when I pushed a print-out button and found a small print instruction on the printed sheet with a HP Smart Tank link to connect the printer scanner. This had to be repeated on each device. Apart from that it was quite simple. I love the print qualty and the photo resolution.

I'm glad I made the switch from standard ink cartridges. My only complaint is that this printer doesn't automatically handle duplex printing. You have to flip the paper and put it back in the paper tray.

Bought this printer to replace our broken one. I was hesitant at first because I thought the cost was too much. Boy am I amazed. This printer is worth every penny. By now, we would be purchasing more ink. Love the simplicity and ease of using this printer. The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t have a fax (which is why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars). I would recommend this printer to everyone. This printer is very economical. I love it.

I like this HP Smart Tank 5000 printer. It seems to be working well and should cost less for ink than cartridge based inkjet printer. My only complaint was that setup of the wireless WiFi connection was difficult for me. The printer only works on 2.4GHz WiFi, which was there in fine print on the box, but I didn't realize it until I was setting it up. It made the setup more difficult.
