Customers are impressed with the Spectre x2's keyboard, which is a notable advantage over the Surface Pro. The price is also seen as reasonable. Customers appreciate the long battery life and sleek design. The inclusion of LTE connectivity is also seen as a bonus. There are some concerns about the bezels being larger compared to the Surface Pro 4, but overall, customers are positive about the Spectre x2.

I bought this and returned the first one because of the USB-C port was bad on one side, the second one was returned because of screen flickering and the 3rd one is at HP currently for screen flickering when you turn on the cellular card. I am hoping when I get it back that all issues are resolved.

I was in the market for a tablet, while of course I wanted a Surface Pro 4, my wallet advised me otherwise. I mainly bought this for use as a tablet, note taking, light browsing, ebooks, work reports, MS Office, and occasional movie watching. Straight out of the box the HP support is going to want to download and install numerous driver updates; I would install these ASAP for the smoothest run. I did have a problem initially with my SD card not being read however after driver updates it worked perfectly. I think Spectre x2 would be a good fit for anyone dreaming of a Surface Pro 4 but does not have a Surface Pro 4 budget. I feel it is more than adequate for the price and features. I wouldn't buy this product with the expectation for it to match the capabilities of a Surface Pro 4. I think it really depends on your lifestyle and what you plan to use the device for, I personally feel it’s more of a tablet and I use it as a tablet. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.
My Pros:
Windows 10
Keyboard - It seems nice and sturdy, has built in speakers. I have yet to really use the keyboard for a prolonged period of time.
Display – so far it seems very crisp and nice.
Price – very affordable especially if you get the VZW service activated, gets you at least $100.00 off.
Battery life- While I have yet to get 10 hours as HP claims, I do feel you get decent battery life out of this product. The longest I have gotten so far is about 7 hours with the screen on 25% dimness. There is a battery saver mode, however I have yet to test it out therefore I cannot give an honest opinion on it.
Design - Very sleek design and I like the kickstand
Micro SD Card slot – Can expand the memory with a SD card
128GB Memory
Weight – It feels very light not too heavy at all.
USB- C Adapter is included – USB-C to USB- A dongle is included with the Spectre X2.
Touchscreen – so far it is very responsive and not too sluggish at all
My Cons:
NOT compatible with HP Active Stylus- the HP website also claims that this tablet is compatible with Hp Active Styli with wacom technology. Of note is the pen on the X2 description page is actually a different styled pen than the active stylus HP and bestbuy currently sell. I have seen reviews where they have the correct pen but I have yet to been able to locate the proper pen. I am currently using the jot and it is adequate for note taking, will be ordering a universal stylus with a fine tip very soon. Keep in mind most pens, bamboo and wacom pens are for samsung and apple devices.
USB-C Ports – Not your standard ports, there are adapters to keep your standard usb cords working. Flash drives for type C ports do exist but they are a little bit more on the pricier end, from what I’ve seen so far at least $38.00 for a 32GB.
Sound- I didn’t feel the sound volume wise was all that great. Keep in mind I have yet to truly use the keyboard on an extended basis, I mainly use it in tablet mode. There are speakers also in the keyboard. It may be a bit better in "laptop" mode with keyboard attached. I did purchase a UE boom to help out in that department
.
NO HDMI Port – There is no designated HDMI port, however there are plenty of adapters available for usb-c to HDMI.
Windows Store Apps – If you are planning to use this as more of a tablet and you are used to using the apple store or playstore you will find the number of apps available are a lot more scarce. Keep in mind though you are running windows so you can download a lot of programs already made for windows.
Cases/Screen protectors - virtually impossible to find something to protect this device with besides a sleeve. The kickstand adds another layer of difficulty in finding a case to use.

Screen size and imaging is superior quality! Battery life is excellent - and Bluetooth connections are very stable. Lightweight and sturdy makes it extremely portable and stable. Love the look as well! Comes with a USB toggle and has 2 mini-ports so it can be used while it is plugged in charging!

I bought this as a back-up laptio to my Surface Book, specifically for traveling as the Surface Book is kinda heavy. What I found is that even with a Core M3 processor I can do most of my work without any issue on this device. Yes its slower, yes the screen has less density but its convenient (Verizon Connectivity) and fast enough for most of my tasks, in other words a great buy

I have owned this for 3 days and I am satisfied, especially considering the cost ($599 on sale). I have a Surface 3 and this is an improvement. Bigger screen, better touchpad, superior keyboard, faster processor, more ram and more storage space for less money. Battery life is about 6-8 hours depending on what I am doing, I keep the screen at full brightness most of the time, I carry it with me for business use, surf, check email and watch Netflix and listen to music. Some of the reviews have complained about the sound and suggest using a third party audio manager, but there is the Bang and Olufsen software included which made all the adjustments I needed to improve the sound quality. When I first plugged in my headphones there was no sound. After I investigated I discovered that you have to turn on the headphones in the Bang and Olufsen software. One other issue that I have is that Chrome browser (both 32 and 64 bit) is crashing frequently. I haven't had time to research if there is fix for that yet. If it continues I will use Firefox.
This comes set up for Verizon 4glte. They give you another $150 off for activation and a 24 month contract which I declined. I use AT&T and tried to get it to work, but no luck. I did not think it would, but no cost but some time to try. You can skip the contract and just sign up with Verizon on a monthly plan if you wish or just tether to you cell phone.
In summary, I am pleased with Sceptre x2, It does exactly what I expected.

I needed a tablet/hybrid that has built in cellular data for my job. Bought this instead of the Surface, seemed like a good value. Unfortunately, I have had random crashes, hot battery and now, it will not turn on, even after doing the HP proscribed 'hard reset." All that being said, I really do like the form factor, the keyboard and the built in "kickstand." I will keep trying to make this work for me, but I am losing patience and may need to give in to the Surface 3 or iPad Pro.

I bought this with a service plan through Verizon for internet access without a jet park. First ,,, I bought this laptop with a bad hard drive. And,, was never able to connect to the internet. After returning, I was told of the hard drive issue and was told that the SIM card was also defective. I was given a new laptop and SIM card. Now on my 2nd laptop, I still cannot connect to the internet, and oh... The hard drive remains defective in the 2nd one.
I will be returning this product to Best Buy first thing in the morning !!
