Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the Spectre x360's lightweight design, impressive battery life, and strong performance, particularly praising the speed of its solid-state drive. Many appreciate its compact size and the convenience of the touchscreen. While some users mention that the device can get warm during intensive use and that the fan can be noticeable at times, the positive feedback on its portability and elegant design outweighs these concerns for most buyers.

First of all this is my first HP product I've ever owned, with that said this is an excellent laptop. The design is clean, keyboard is above standard. I have the 512 SSHD and new gen I7 which makes this a very fast system. Very pleased with the speed of both read and write. I use this laptop in the field for photo shoots (wildlife) and can download straight from my DSLR to the laptop (NFC). Which means I can and do edit my images in the field to assure I get what I want. I also tether my HP with my cell phone and have access to the internet and various clouds I use. Its very light weight and durable. I've had mine for almost 3 months now and carry it in a back pack everyday and have had no issues.

the hp spectre 13 inch performs really well. smooth and the windows 10 OS interface well with at. all the small feature works correctly. screen is amazing. sound is amazing. performence is amazing to my humble requirements. a couple of small things disturb me : a. when swithcing to tablet mode. your fingers will probably touch the keyborad and will make a mess. it is unelegent move. b, battery is below average and small sound comes when charging the laptop. c. vantilator can be loud from time to time

I have been using laptops for work since they were luggables. I've never really been comfortable with the laptops provided to me and I have used Dell, HP, and IBM/Lenovo through the years. At home I have always used a desktop just because I haven't really had a personal need for a laptop. However, with my desktop being six years or so old and my tablet starting to fade, I wanted to get a convertible laptop and make the personal jump. Since I use dual monitors for work (I work from home) that I switch with my desktop, I wanted to get a laptop that supported dual monitor output. I also wanted it to be in the 12 to 13 inch size range so it could replace my 10 inch tablet without being too large. Pros: Very easy to configure on start up (probably common with all Windows 10 machines). Keyboard is VERY comfortable. It has a good layout, not too close; and the pressure for pressing the keys is perfect (for me). I don't feel like I need to attach a keyboard. I also can use this on my lap. So far the display seems great. I don't really watch movies and such but I may at some point; no issues that I can see. It converts to tablet form just with a fold. You can have it prompt you or not if you want to convert. I chose to not convert and it makes it pretty seamless. One thing I noted that I need to investigate is that in tablet mode it wouldn't pop up the keyboard to type in a password for an excel file. So far no issue with battery life but I have not really taxed it in any way. It is nice and light and so far not an issue in tablet form. I have yet to read on it but web browsing and checking email in tablet form was no problem. The multitouch pad seems to work well. I haven't explored all the options there but I mastered the two finger scrolled and the pinch for zooming. Cons: The description says it includes HDMI. It does not. It has two USB-C ports that can output HDMI or displayport. That works fine to me. But it was misleading so beware if you really want an HDMI port. At this point I cannot think of any other cons but if I end up with any I will augment this review.

After 5 years, it was time to buy a new laptop. I travel a lot with work, so I wanted a model that was light AND powerful. After doing a lot of research, I settled on the HP Spectre 2-in-1 because I can use it as a laptop or a tablet. And luckily, Best Buy had a souped-up model with extra RAM and larger solid state hard drive. Not only was it a breeze to set up, it's features are terrific. Pages load with the blink of an eye, and the glass screen is really sharp. The Bang & Olufsen speakers are good, but not great. Overall, it's a wonderful 2-in-1 that is ultra-portable and most important - reliable. I love this computer!

This is so cool. Finally a very thin laptop, all aluminum, solid state HD and convertible to a tablet too. I am not a gamer; I am a REALTOR. Set up was easy and it runs all the MLS programs I need. But honestly I expected a new HP laptop would function well and it does. What I really like is how cool looking it is being so thin and the touch screen when using it as a tablet. Oh and buy the thin logitech mouse to go with it!

I was looking for a powerful computer that could handle family picture editing, grad school requirements, video streaming, and was also small and light enough to put in my purse. Well, the Spectre has more then lived up to my expectations. While on vacation we downloaded our pictures nightly to see the details. I have written a few grad school papers and the key board is just the right size and sensitivity for me. And my binge streaming has never been better. I switch to tablet mode and set up the screen as a tent. I can ditch my Ipad! My overall review...Its light, Its powerful, and the screen is WOW!

All I can say about this laptop is that it is pure awesome! Light weight, Fast, and able to do exactly what I needed it for. I'm a software engineer and I wanted a smaller, more portable development machine I can easily carry with me. This computer / 2 in 1 fit the bill PERFECTLY! I'm running the complete Jetbrains Suite, Visual Studio and MongoDB with 0 slowdowns. I'm also able to play League Of Legends with no problems at all. The pen and note taking ability is pretty top notch as well. I'm no designer, or illustrator but I am able to use the inking ability easily and it translate very well to screen. A++

I'm a little obsessed with this laptop. I first bought a Lenovo Yoga 910 with equal specs, and I returned it in favor of this HP Spectre x360. I couldn't be happier with the decision. The HP is faster, smoother, and more reliable. The Lenovo's battery life was better (and very impressive) but I don't go off the cord that often. I have had no issues with the HP and it has exceeded my expectations in terms of speed and multi-tasking. I also got a great deal on this because it doesn't have the digital ink / stylus functionality, which I never really used on my old Surface Book.

Even though it is advertised as a 2 in 1, it's more like a laptop. Using it as tablet can be a bit uncomfortable as you can accidentally press the screen with your palm due to lack of margins on both sides. Reasonably fast. Very light. Sturdy construction. VERY GOOD KEYBOARD - main reason I bought this over Lenovo or Acer. Internal fan can be pretty loud and the body can get hot, but nothing too uncomfortable. I'd definitely recommend.

I usually don't write reviews but I felt I needed to for this product. I brought this laptop after hours of researches. I was debating to either get this or Dell XPS 13. After a few pros and cons, I decided to give HP a chance. Let start with the pros: -Great specs for the money -Great design -Great keyboard -Great battery life (7 to 8 hours) -Light weight -Overall, it was excellent laptop on paper The cons: -hardware issues -battery issues -Type usb-c is not compatiable with non-HP charger -Type usb-c is disabled for external GPU On the first day of my purchase, I found a couple broken keys when I was typing on this. I returned it the next day and got a replacement. After two weeks of use on my replacement, I started to notice minor issues and some major one with the laptop. The track pad seems to be loose. It will make noise with the slightest of touches. The right side of the track pad will make loud creaking noise when typing. After further inspection, it looks like the right side of the laptop is either not screwed in properly or metal plates are misaligned. It looks like it went through poorly design quality control process. Additionally, I noticed that the laptop's battery will drained even though it was powered off. After a few days of research, I found out that this is a common issue with HP laptops. After a few test, I found out that I'm losing about 10% to 15% of battery capacity within 24 hours without using the laptop. Looking at the system event logs, battery report, etc., I confirmed that the laptop was not active during the draining period; it was completely powered off. With just two weeks of use, more and more issues are emerging. I can't imagine what else I will find a few months down the road. Overall, I feel like an excellent laptop was killed by poor quality control. I'm not sure if it is by design or poor oversight. I'm planning to return this laptop within the new few days. I'm just glad that my purchase fall under Best Buy Holiday return policy. The price for the laptop comparatively to other laptops with similar components are a few hundred dollars more expensive. I've had this for over 6 months and can say that this laptop's quality has not degrade since I got it. I'm still consistently getting 8+ hours of constant use browsing the web and video streaming. It is a lightweight laptop w/ amazing portability and a decent amount of ports. Overall a great buy and recommended for college students.

The best laptop I've ever had, including MBA, MBP, and other Windows laptops. Feels solid, great speakers and touch screen (the screen could be a bit brighter and would be nice if the resolution was just a bit higher to hit retina level). Performs amazingly in benchmarks, especially the SSD. Great battery life, Windows Hello is also great, and it has the perfect set of ports. Great value, would buy it again without hesitation!

I had my last laptop for seven years and, while it served me well, it was showing its age in slower performance, heavy weight, and increasingly more frequent crashes. The Spectre is about as small and lightweight as I would want to go. I went with 16 Gig of ram and the i7 processor. It powers right up, is so light I could forget it's in my backpack, and zips through the work. I am pleased with the laptop.

Mainly used for web and android development, this system has been working without fault for the time I have owned it. Battery life is great and handles multiple development environments open at the same time. Super compact and lightweight for carrying to and from the many dev meetings. Suits my needs very well.

I've bought/used this laptop for >2 year and it is still working well....fast processor, light weight, don't have overheating issue and decent battery life. So far so good. Unfortunately, I spilled coke on the keyboard by accident....the keys are now sticky during winter (dry weather) but work perfectly fine during summer (humid weather).

Really good 2 in 1 ultra-portable with one flaw

It's a great ultra-portable with just one flaw. The 2 in 1 design works well. It is a bit heavier than a IPad- but far, far more capable too. The audio output sounds better than nearly every other laptop (ultra-portable or full size) out there. Really, better than most Bluetooth speakers out there too. Battery life is excellent. It never gets too hot. Keyboard feels good. And the extra wide touchpad is a nice feature. Great screen at full resolution. The only issue IS the screen resolution. In optimal setting the font is small, well tiny really. Any changes to font scaling or lowering the resolution isn't handled well at all on a the display. Which means the font on some menus and apps like Apple iTunes will either be tiny OR blurry. More than an annoyance to me, but maybe not so to others who are ok with the small font. I'm holding out hope that a driver update can help the problem as it's not an uncommon complaint. It looses a star because of that one issue. Still very impressed and glad I bought it.

So far so good.. It does get a little hot, so make sure to have a cool pad or put it on hard surface. There's the speed that is nice, including the fact that it's light. It responds to my games well and doing multiple tasks at one time..enjoy it

I first tried out a Samsung Notebook 9 Spin. I just didn't like the keyboard and the computer felt slow. Paid about 500 dollars more to get this and I love it. Super lite and easy to carry around. The screen is very good. Bright and 1080p is a fine resolution. No light bleed or dead/stuck pixels. I was interested in waiting for the 4k screen version but I wonder how much battery life you would have to sacrifice. I also didn't wait to get the one that works with the pen. If that's important to you then it's 50 dollars more. The laptop boots up in seconds. It would be even quicker if you didn't use Windows Hello. Windows Hello works well enough. Build quality is excellent. The keyboard feels great to type on to me. Keyboard feel is very subjective but I love typing on this. The keys have a great tactile feel to them. The only thing I don't like is the unibody trackpad. I would have preferred to have separate click buttons. You have to click the far right side of the pad to register a right click. Speakers are fine for a super thin laptop. The bezels are thin on the sides.

Incredibly light. Very responsive touch screen. Sturdy at all viewing angles. Makes for a great travel laptop. I wouldn't recommend getting any less memory as Windows 10 is huge. Only negative I have so far is that the battery life isn't as strong as advertised. Still pretty good though.
