    Great computer...but

I purchased this computer because I wanted a 2 in 1 with a flash drive for speed. It boots up impressively fast, about 20 seconds. The keyboard is backlit, and can be easily seen at night. The battery seems to work all day, and it is also incredibly thin and light. It is a pleasure to work on.With that said, in the 45 days I have had it, the graphics card has "stopped working" at least 20 times, causing a burp in the system. I get a notification in the corner that the graphics has stopped working and it seems to keep working fine. I'm not sure what causes it, but it is annoying, especially since I only use if for MS Word, Excel, and surfing, nothing too graphics intensive. The other thing that gives it the 2 star rating is the fact that the keyboard turns off 80% of the time when it wakes up, or when turning it on forcing me to type on the screen, only it is not in tablet mode. I usually have to reboot 2 to 3 times to get the keyboard working again. I updated all the software from HP, and actually went into Best Buy. The guy at the Geek Squad says he has heard 4 other people with the same thing, and that it was an HP issue. I really do like the computer otherwise, and am eagerly awaiting a software upgrade from HP as this does not seem to be an isolated incident. So, buy at your risk, you may get a good one!

This is a great substitute for the MacBook Air with the added benefit of a touch screen. It appears to be very well built, sleek, and the monitor portion feels a little more sturdy than that of the MacBook Air. This is a very nice laptop/tablet. I am an HP fan anyway, but this is their best work so far.

I enjoyed this laptop, but it did have several features that disappointed me. The speakers weren't that great, so everything I watched had to be at full volume to hear it. The touch screen was great but I found I didn't use it much because it's touch features weren't very precise, as with the automatic screen flip. It would sometimes stick in the horizontal position after I had flipped it, and I would have to restart it to get it to unstick. Overall it was good, but it had its quirks that led me to upgrade to a different laptop.

Computer launches apps and restarts quickly. Easily switches to tablet mode and touch screen helps out with work especially because there is not a number keyboard integrated on the main keyboard. The aluminum frame was one reason I picked this computer it has a sturdier and more durable feel

    Great Computer with Minor Hiccups

I originally bought this model of computer a year ago and enjoyed using it for the most part. It did end up having some minor issues and eventually the motherboard failed. When I spoke with Best Buy over my extreme disappointment in this happening, they replaced with a new model. That was also faulty and kept dropping wifi and no one could figure it out. I ended up switching to a MacBook Pro and only had that for a day - I just didn't like it as much. For roughly the same price, the Mac didn't have a touch screen or a 360 hinge. Though these are not features that I absolutely NEEDED, I found that I really liked them. The Mac just wasn't good enough. So I went back to Spectre and have had this one for several months now. I ended up resolving the previous issues with wifi I had - it was the antivirus software I was using. Though I sometimes have minor glitches (like all computers do) this is a great machine and I would recommend it. I really believe that I ended up having a streak of bad luck, which certainly happens to people like me. So I say go for this computer! However, always get Geek Squad - I found them to be absolutely wonderful. I will always have Geek Squad protection for that reason.

Needed another computer. Checked several brands. For the money spent, HP offered best price value. This unit does it all. So far it is dependable, easy to use. It looks nice. I like the features, battery life, and its responsiveness. It is not sluggish. The responsiveness to commands is impressive. I think HP could include better instructions. However, I took the time to question a BestBuy salesperson to fill in the blanks for me. I like the sleeve that is included. Its covers the unit and fits nicely in my backpack. I compared several brands with comparable features. This works for me.

    Best HP ever

I actually had purchased a Samsung tablet, and 4 computers from various locations and ended up returning them all, except for the tablet. I was not sure what I was looking for. I wanted something lightweight, versitile, a great keyboard, and thought I wanted a bigger screen. Then I saw the HP Spectre. I have owned 4 HP machines over the years but this one was no normal HP. The keyboard is phenomenal, the SSD with the i7 processor makes this computer run smooth and fast. I actually have bought two now, his and hers, and my first one did have some WiFi issues but the funny thing is when it updated to windows 10 that problem ceased. So it looks to have been an OS problem. While I never really use it as a tablet, the hinges are perfect and i will put it in a tent mode. I am done with Apple products, and made a huge mistake buying a Surface RT now a $600 paperweight. I cannot say enough good things about this computer. I never even use my tablet anymore.

Bought this primarily for business and use it hooked up to large monitor and wireless keyboard and mouse through a docking station. Also travel with it quite a bit and like the keyboard and mouse, screen is excellent and use it as a tablet for reading books which eliminated the need to carry a tablet. Very fast, excellent screen for work, reading, and the occasional movie and youtube. Running windows 10 with Outlook hooked to exchange server and once it was all set-up works like a charm!

I love my new laptop. It's the perfect size, fast, convenient, lightweight. The video quality is great, and love that it can become a tablet whenever I want a full-screen view. The speakers aren't as strong as I would like, but its easy to connect it to an external speaker.

Nice computer - not a fan of the Windows 10 email program compared to Outlook, though. Sometimes a message appears that a display driver stopped working, but it clears up right away. Google Chrome is a better browser than the Windows 10 browser, too.

This unit was purchased to be part of an in-home office and has fit the bill perfectly. It has also seen some significant air time and has had no issue connecting to wifi on multiple airlines.

Happy with my purchase. Lightweight and thin. Love the solid aluminum case. Only cons would be getting used to the large touch pad and learning not to rest my palm on it. Other is minor but the power button is small and a little touch to push in.

This replaces a HP envy touchscreen with solid state drive. It is slimmer, lighter and faster than the i5. I like the 360 design and the himges are solid. The initial setup right out of the box took only minutes. Got it on sale for $1099. Very nice but a little pricey.

Looking for lightweight small format laptop with good specs. Looked at everything from Lenovo, Microsoft, etc. This HP has it all except the higher resolution display (HP does offer in an upgraded model). Paid $1149 at Best Buy but got $150 refund when it went on sale at BB within 14 days of purchase. Windows 10.1 and touchscreen is a great combo!

Overall, it was a good purchase. I needed something light and small to carry to work - I walk about 5 miles a day in addition to riding the t. For home use, it's a little small. A full size, more responsive key board would be a welcome addition.

After retiring I had a need for a small lightweight computer. Looked at most everything, including Apple, before settling on the HP Spectre. I have always found HP products to be great quality and excellent support, if needed. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Very easy to use and lightning fast. Touchscreen is easy to use and I use it much more than anticipated. Don't use the 360 aspect as much, but it is a nice thing to have. Great alternative to a Macbook for college students. Light and portable.
