I sold my Surface Pro 2 to get this and have not regretted it. I had to look twice at it when I saw it was an HP product. It's functional and stylish. The only issue I can see is the over-size track pad for those folks that like to rest their hands on the laptop while they type. It was no problem for me since I don't rest my hands while I type. It came down to this or the Dell XPS 13. The difference for me was the Spectre's ability to fold all the way back into a tablet form factor and everything in between. VERY nice for presentations at work in tent mode. Also when viewing streaming media in bed with the screen facing me and the keyboard folded away from me. I'm not a gamer so a dedicated graphics card was not an issue. I would recommend this to a friend.

Latest Win10 2-in-1 with ideal specs for all

I have been wanting to get my hands on a powerful Win10 laptop and this one was an instant choice. The Spectre x360 2-in-1 has perfect specs and features for a laptop and is well worth the tablet experience too.
The Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro was another one on my list just because of a better tablet experience but Intel Core M processor did not seem powerful enough for my consideration.
The specs I wanted were an i7 processor with at least 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD and this seemed to be the best fit at an ideal price. And it certainly saves me some dollars as it doubles up as a tablet whenever I feel the need to use it in that mode may it be for reading, watching videos and browsing purposes.
I would say this is surely worth a consideration if you have similar requirements.

Needed a light weight laptop that was powerful too. Git the best of both worlds with HP Specter. It's powerful to run heavy software and seamless with everyday tasks. The sound is the only part that's a little disappointing. Crisp video, graphics and powerful battery.

HP Spectre is one of the tops in the class for portable 2 in 1 laptops. Bought it for my son for college and think it will be a good fit for portability and ability with the i7 processor. Haven't had much time with it yet but came loaded with Windows 10 so he doesn't have to do any downloads, etc.

I was looking for a small laptop that would do more than my chromebook but not be heavy and bulky. This laptop fit the bill perfectly for me. It's quiet, doesn't get hot sitting in my lap, isn't heavy, and runs the programs I use most with no issues. I haven't had any problems with the keyboard or touchpad. I haven't used it in tablet mode much but it worked well the few times I have. The solid state hard drive is big enough for my needs and I love how quickly it starts up. I also like it because it because I don't spend the first 20 minutes I log on working through updates like my old Windows laptop did. Overall I am very pleased with it and would recommend it for anyone like me that doesn't use their computer for gamming.

The last time I purchased a computer was over 10 years ago when I was still in college. My Mac PowerBook G4 was good to me up until it crashed due to a backdoor webroot issue that occurred when my Android phone connected to the same WiFi without my permission. Technology has come a LONG way since then, so most compatibility issues can be worked around nowadays. I love the ability full x360 touch screen. Don't know how one can do without it. Price was more than reasonable for the great laptop that I just got. Hopefully it will last me at least 10 years! We shall see.... Two issues that I have some concern about though are that this HP tends to run hot quickly and easily, and also that the storage drive space that is used for all of the pre-installed information combined with Microsoft Office, anit-virus software, and other installs like popular apps you'll want, altogether have very quickly eaten up a very good bit of my laptop's memory. I wish I had purchased the laptop with more internal memory capacity, but I could not afford to. Hopefully my laptop won't begin to run slow as a result. I will need to be wary of how many photos and other files that I keep saved on my PC's memory.

This is one of the best computers I have ever owned. It's extremely quiet, the mouse pad is spot on, no lag what so ever. In addition, windows 10 is a must have. The HP X360 is a bit more expensive than the Dell Inspiron 13, it is definitely worth it considering the upgrades that your are getting with the HP X360.

So far the Spectre has been what I expected. It is very fast and starts up very quickly. I would say it is the PC version of a Mac. With it being so thin, It can be a little difficult to open (I have big hands). The only true negative I get from this laptop is the bottom can get pretty hot after prolonged use. Overall it has been everything I had hoped for when investing in a new computer.

My 2 in 1 HP Spectre is the best all around laptop available. Great battery life and speed crunching big spreadsheets. It's look and feel speak volumes in terms of professionalism at meetings and presentations. The TouchScreen navigation is flawless and inviting, which has led me to use it extensively as an EReader, seeking out new venues to access magazines, books and research materials.

This is a very nice machine. It is a computer for college. We first bought an 11.6" i3-based Dell and it couldn't run Sims 4, so we returned it. I placed it on top of the HP and the HP wasn't really that much bigger. The HP is thinner too. I love the idea of a 12-14 hour battery life, but we haven't had a chance to test it out.
We are very happy with the performance and styling of the laptop. A bonus is that it has Windows 10 pre-installed, so I didn't have to deal with that hassle. Finally, we got $150 off from Best Buy simply because my daughter is a college student. That was a nice surprise.

Love this computer. Had a really hard time deciding what to buy, a MacBook or the Spectre. After several trips to my local best buy and a few hours playing with each one I decided on the Spectre. And I'm glad I did. It's easy to use. Love Windows 10. The touchscreen is great, although I rarely use it, but the option is there.

I was torn between the Spectre and the Lenovo Yoga 900. I truly feel I made the right choice! This computer is fast, sleek, and responsive. The keyboard and touchpad are very easy to use- very ergonomic. Not only does it handle like a serious laptop, but it's portable like a surface- very lightweight. Love this computer!

This is probably the most diverse and complex laptop I've ever had. The lightweight sleekness, screen clarity, 360 screen flexibility, large touchpad, and ability to keep tons of programs open at the same time without overheating, is phenomenal. BUT, when I first bought this laptop, it was extremely sensitive. Normally, when you shut a laptop, it goes into sleep mode, but this laptop goes into sleep mode, and then refuses to respond when it's opened back up. The only way I got it to do anything was to hit the start button, which would make me have to clear all of my data out of the computer. I had to start fresh four times. This finally stopped happening after I googled the issue and found that turning off the sleep mode would fix the issue, and it has. I can close the laptop now without having a problem. Other than that, it's got to be the best laptop I've ever had. I've gotten tons of compliments everywhere I take it.

I have used this laptop for more than a month. It has very good specifications for its price. I have compared it with Dell XPS 13 and Dell Inspiron 13. Moreover, this has been jointly developed with windows, I can spot the efficiency tuning from windows. This is a solidly built laptop with awesome keypad and trackpad. Excellent battery life (10 hours at least), Full HD wide angle display with touch screen. Only negative point is that it doesn't have a dedicated GPU

I considered the Apple mac pro and the Microsoft Surface. Did not love either. I use all the MS office programs and this laptop has it all. It has touch screen and is portable. I've had it a little over a month and it is exactly what I was looking for.

First the positives:
It is very fast.
It is pretty light, without feeling flimsy.
The screen is amazing.
The SSD - no computer made today should come without an SSD.
The screen hinge is a geared hinge and is very sturdy.
Almost no bloat ware.
Neutral:
When you have it in tent mode, the corners can dig into you a bit.
The air vents for incoming air are on the bottom all the way across the back, about 2" from the hinge. If it's on a desk it's ok, but if you have it on your stomach like most use it, it blocks air and it get HOT..
Touch pad - bitter sweet here. It is very wide, but takes some getting used to. You spend a lot of time fishing for the sweet spot.
Why I returned it:
After a couple weeks the CPU fan started to whine, but it was only every so often.
In tent mode the top was blowing so much heat that you could honesty not rest your hand on the hinge area.
The mouse also started to lock up when using Edge.
For $1,300 it had better be perfect Yes, I know Apple MacBooks are $2,700 for the same unit, but they get more viruses than Miley Cyrus, and if HP is doing if for half as much, that should tell most that Apple is TO EXPENSIVE.
I give it a positive recommend for those who use it as a laptop only, and on a desk.

The looks of the spectre are really nice.Aluminum brushed gives the premium finish to the product. Laptop works perfectly in all modes such as like normal laptop, tent mode, tablet mode. Although its still bit difficult to use this in tablet mode because of the size and weight. I use the Dell Stylus with it for taking notes and adding annotations. Battery is ok..not much of extensive testing of it so far. Resolution is great . I didn't tool the Quad HD model since it is of no use much and consumes extra battery. Windows 10 is nice and refreshing with Siri like personal assistance called Cortena. So you can open programs or search web via voice commands. All in all a great looking aluminum body and gorgeous display.
