I was considering the HP Spectre or a MacBook Pro. I opted for the HP because it was priced about a $1,000 less than a Mac for the equivalent specs. I like the touch-screen capabilities and the 4K screen makes video watching much more enjoyable. This computer is packed with power and I average about five hours of battery life with constant use. Overall, I was very pleased with my purchase and I would purchase another HP product.

This is Very fast machine. The start up time is great, even faster than my MBpro. It's a very Nice Laptop, a lot of connectivity ports, love the screen, the 2-in-1 option. I didn't have any major issue with it. This machine was priced right too. But I had to return it because it wasn't powerful enough for my regular duties. I had to let it go for a MacBook Pro. Don't hesitate to buy it if you can still find one.

This is my first non-Apple computer ever (I'm in my 30s). So it was kind of a big deal. Hat tip to the good people at the Best Buy store for letting me walk around playing with trackpads for like two hours.
The good: killer price for these specs; the monitor is AMAZING and is much more useful as a touchscreen than I expected; lovely design and good quality; speakers are actually pretty nice for a laptop.
The less than good: average-to-mediocre keyboard; trackpad is best for this pricepoint but please see below.
Seriously the keyboard squeaks when I type too fast. But the feel is nice enough.
I'm very happy with the trackpad/touchpad given that this computer cost 1/2 what its comparable MacBook or Surface version does. That said, this trackpad is 20% or so worse than the one on the beat up 4 year old MacBook it replaced. I'm ok with that.
But arthritis and dexterity issues are a big thing in my family and I would counsel someone for whom that's a problem to seriously consider sticking in Apple-world or going for a smaller/less feature-rich Surface. I've done everything I can (including editing the registry) to get this to feel as nice and responsive as an Apple trackpad and it just isn't. That said - it's the nicest one of all the computers I played with in the store. I'm happy with it but I wouldn't, say, recommend it to my dad who has significant arthritis in his hands.

The setup of the is laptop is simple. The touchscreen/tablet ability is a plus when I'm in the field and just need to scribble a few notes.
I opted for the SSD because, I wanted the fastest read and write speed as possible. For all of those looking for a device that's light weight and fast... This laptop is your solution.
P.S.
It even has a back lit keyboard.

Ordered two for my colleagues. They are extremely satisfied with it. Being executive team members they are looking for a laptop that has premium build quality with professional and sleek look, which this laptop definitely has. It is thinner, lighter, and prettier than a Mac, and with this price you really can't find a better deal.
Performance-wise it is a winner, too. Extremely fast at almost everything. The touchscreen is pretty responsive, too. With some research I found out that the Dell 750-AAGN stylus works works with Spectre models. Ordered a couple, and miraculously, after I put in the batteries, I am able to immediately begin writing with the stylus without even paring on bluetooth.
In summary, they are very, very high-quality products: If Apple decides to build a Windows 2-in-1 15 incher, this is what it is going to be like. Take nothing away from HP though. Awesome job.
Highly recommend.

Took my son to get a MacBook which was what he wanted. The Best Buy associate was helpful answering a few last questions. I asked what could we look at in PC laptop in comparison. He showed us the HP Spectre 360. Just explaining the differences to us was enough. Twice the RAM, 4K screen, turns into a tablet. My son immediately realized for him, this was the right choice. Then we got zero percent financing for twelve months. Plus I was able to list my 16 year old son as an authorized user on the financing in hopes of helping him establish positive credit. My dad did this for me.
We discussed how important good credit is and I explained how financing works. He's paying off the computer himself in 12 equal payments with zero interest! It was a very good day. Thank you.

Very quick set up out of the box. Minor issues getting Windows 10 and Onedrive synced with existing account. This laptop is not the smallest or lightest but I think there is a great balance between portability and desktop use. The reversible screen gives some functionality as a tablet. This is not a tablet replacement but works OK as one if you need that once in a while. Battery life is quite good. I'm not a gamer and don't put high demands on the memory or processor.
For some reason, about 20 gb is taken up on the hard drive by a folder called windows.old. I think this can be deleted if it doesn't go away by itself after a period of time.
Wanted to get this version which has 3 usb 3 ports and one usb -c. There don't seem to be too many peripherals out yet with usb-c so this gives me a chance to gradually transition while still having sufficient usb 3 which are backwards compatible with usb 2. Of course, usb c to usb 3 adapters are out there but it looks like the newer version of this laptop has only usb-c.

My prior laptop was a $250 entry level machine on its last legs - but I was able to shop around until I found the right new one for my needs. I compared this with several Lenovo Yoga models and the Carbon (which is a great PC but more than I need). This 15.6" screen is a great size yet the machine fits easily in a briefcase for travel; the hinge/mounting is durable and sturdy; I have experienced no issues with the keyboard (anything really) when in tablet mode,
I use the laptop for personal financial management, a home-based business and moderate internet activity. I use it for recreational activity too, including Prime and Netflix videos. It is more than adequate to every task so far; the Spectre is quick, convenient, feather-light, and the 4HD screen is fantastic! Since I got it my iPad has been sitting on the shelf.
My only (minor) complaint is that the power chord is about two feet shorter than I would like.
I recommend it highly!

The first one that I got had some software issues out of the box, but Best Buy took it back no questions asked and got me all set up in store for the second one. The build quality of this laptop is excellent. The touch screen is ideal for scrolling through articles online. I use it in Stand mode all the time when I am on the couch or watching videos.
There are only two things that I found disappointing. The keyboard back-light on the silver keys makes it difficult to see the keys when typing. The second is that the speakers are very weak.

...because my old laptop moved like a tortoise - but it was 7 years old, so I was due for a change. The hp spectre is lightweight and slim - today I balanced it on my treadmill and could watch and exercise at the same time. It moves quickly from one website to another. I'm still getting used to all the various things the touchpad can do and often inadvertantly enlarge the screen when I'm moving the cursor. I'm told the hard drive has no moving parts and will last up to10 years. And I'm most appreciative of the tech support plan I have with Geek Squad and how gracious they are when I call with questions, since I'm not techno-savvy.

I bought this after having many other HP laptops over many years. Replacing a 10 year old Pavilion dv9000. I like the design and functionality of HP laptops. Overall, this is a very good performing device. Has the standard windows 64bit OS and usual accompanying slew of updated add-ons from Microsoft update. So, nothing new there.
The screen is very high end and details, with lots of color and, of course, touchscreen/pen input...there is 16g, which is enough to run most anything and everything at the same time, with minimal required ports (USB, SB reader, hdmi for a larger monitor, and USB C for expansion) for the external stuff and input devices.
I really like the options for having high quality audio via the Bang & Olufsen implementation, but with such a thin device, the sound will obviously suffer. So, i connected an external amp and speakers via the headphone jack. Problem solved.
Suffice it to say, the device is pretty good - functionally.
Now for the parts that are not so great...even though i gave it 4 stars, it could be worse. The primary issue is related to size. The laptop is so thin, that its very difficult to get it open once closed. Anyone with medium to large hands (or no finger nails) will have a difficult time.
Secondly is poor design: On day 1, as soon as i took it out of the packaging, 2 of the 4 feet on the bottom feel off the laptop. There was not enough adhesive on either one to stick to anything inside of the laptop, and the little legs didnt stay in the slots around each circular hole. So, at that point, i had 2 quarter sized holes in the bottom that could easily allow dirt, moisture and even fingers (very large holes) inside the laptop. This is such an obvious poor design, it must have been noticed in the manufacturing process. Poor choice by HP on this aspect of this laptop. To fix this, i put the feet back into the holes and covered all 4 of them with several pieces of scotch tape - ugly, but effective.
Finally, is the lack of an appropriate tablet input device (even optional) other than my fingers. After a period, anyone using this as a tablet will realize that serious usage requires an input device that wont leave oily, smudgy, yuck-covered fingerprints all over the nice screen.
The way i use this is as a desktop replacement. so, my usage bypasses those previously mentioned issues. i now have a nicer, portable desktop than before. My previous HP Pavilion is not missed. This performs well, with 4x the RAM and nicer AC network connections and overall i have no reasons to not use it as such.
For me, this works well.

This is an amazing laptop! I absolutely love the touch screen-it makes it so much easier to scroll down or up or to zoom in. I also love how thin it is! I thought the battery life would be a little better, but it's longer than my last laptop, so I'm not complaining. I had a few problems at the beginning with it freezing a lot to the point where I had to do several forced shut downs, but it hasn't done it in a while because I'm waiting a little bit longer after I turn it on to make sure it's processed everything before I go to the Internet. Internet Explorer seems to work better than Google Drive for some reason, but it could just be a glitch in my laptop. Overall, I definitely recommend the Spectre!

Mainly I purchased this one because for the amount it had the most memory and a 256 SSD can be upgraded later if need be. I would have preferred something smaller but like I said for this price and type it had the most memory for this price range and style. Typically when you buy something like this the memory cannot be upgraded and that's true for this one. At 16 GB it should provide me with enough memory until it becomes obsolete and I am ready for the next one.

I had been looking at buying a laptop. I had narrowed it down to 3. The surface pro, the apple macbook pro and the hp spectre. I didnt really want a tablet trying to be a laptop so i ruled out the surface pro. Than it was down to 2. I am not a apple person so i ended up with the spectre. The price was lower also so that helped alot. The onboulrlard mouse is sluggish but i knew that from the reviews. I use a Logitech bluetooth mouse. The battery life is awesome. I charge it every other day and am on it a solid 8 hours.
I also ended up buying my wife a macbook pro for herself and i am overly joyed when i got a in home side by side comparssion of the two. Hope this helps.

I was looking for a great touch screen computer that was fast, light & had a solid state drive. What I found was the HP Spectre 360 which was much much more than that. Awesome computer.
