HP has never disappointed me. The quality and user ability of this machine is excellent. The UHD screen is very crisp and sharp. The 15.6 screen hinged screen makes it easy to use as a tablet or laptop. Well worth the money. User friendly.

Good overall. Other reviews said alot. Ours has not failed in any way. However, sound volume too low. Hope HP Improves sound driver and driver for external quick recognition of BluRay/DVD drive. Difficult to play/record discs. Other disappointing item is battery life poor with decent screen brightness. Touch screen fine, speed of actions fast. 4k screen not noticeable for most applications... Very physically built well from our experience. No wifi issues, but updates way too often. Overall, love it!!!

Came from a Macbook Pro. My thoughts 1.5 months with it:
Pros: Fast start up time, beautiful display, portable, can handle many programs at once, durable build
Cons: Has frozen on me a few times, had to force shut down with the power button, not many problems as of yet

The 4K screen is stunning, especially when viewing 4K content. The speaker is by far one of the best for a laptop.
The only minor issue is the small footprint of chat screens. The high resolution creates this problem due to lack of software inhancements.
Of course, this will improve with time. Otherwise, I love the slim, refined lines of the overall design.
Keyboard keys have excellent response, which makes typing on it such a pleasure.
The only disappointment is the lack of raised lettering found on its smaller 13" sister. Can't comprehend the reinstatement of the antiquated HP logo found on this otherwise handsome design.

I was checking out with a MacBook pro when I offhandedly said I wish it was touchscreen. The salesperson asked if I saw the hp spectre. I said yes, but weight was the biggest selling piont of the MacBook. He informed me the spectre is lighter. Lighter and touchscreen changed my mind immediately.

I needed a new laptop with good capabilities and I didn't want to go all the way to a Surface Pro 4. I purchased another brand which was cheaper and it was broken right out of the box. That was my good luck because I got this Spectre instead. It's fast, it's light, the tablet function works great and I couldn't be happier.
To be sure, this is not a tablet replacement with desktop capabilities -- it's too heavy for that. It's a desktop replacement with tablet capabilities. The tablet function is great for a good long read in an airport lounge or even on the couch, but it doesn't detach from the keyboard so it's too clunky for carrying around doing tablet stuff. That balance -- desktop replacement power with some tablet like functions for long reads -- is exactly what I was looking for.
As a bonus, the screen quality is outstanding and the speakers are leaps and bounds better than any I've had on a laptop. The keyboard layout is also very good; I could do with a numeric keypad, but one copes.
I haven't had occasion to really stretch the machine's capabilities with video editing or rendering, but it's done great playing media, editing RAW photos, handling multiple high-bandwidth streams including image-rich real-time stock data, and the like.

I don’t have any viruses and yet sometimes it freezes up or the cursor won’t hover over an open window but go behind it. Sometimes the speakers stop working even though everything is on. Restarting it fixes them. But this happens often.

I was looking for another computer to replace my aged laptop and this was a great choice. Lightweight, fast processor, touch screen and it flips to act as a tablet. Awesome computer.

Likes: Resolution is clear and better than other new laptops. Fast start up. 15 inch screen is incredibly thin and lightweight. Keyboard is comfortable. After 3 weeks have not had any operational or mechanical problems.
Dislikes: Hard to open sometimes. Charging plug in is not strong.

This laptop is, hands down, the top result of the wisest decision I made when searching for a replacement for my 9 year old Sony. Awesome good looks, lightening speed, user friendliness, featherlite and features above and beyond my high expectations. Spectre x 360 rocks!!!

Beautiful screen and fast just needs more hard drive space. Love the flexibility on how to use it tablet, laptop, even using bottom as a stand when watching something onscreen or using a stylus. Trackpad takes getting used too but works well after learning curve

This laptop is by far ahead of the game, and is one of the greatest computers I have ever used. The 2 in 1 design although I thought I would not use it very much I have used a lot more then I expected. The 15.6 inch screen along with the 4K display is beautiful and the first time you turn on the laptop you will be blown away by the display. The 16gb of ram is increadably fast and powerful but definently not meant for highly intensive games. But can handle multiple apps at once with no problems great for multitasking. With a screen this big it also doesn't feel cramped with multiple windows open. Overall great laptop

The laptop serves as both a handy light weight portable laptop but also converts easily to a tablet, Batteries last almost 7 hours after a single charge. The touch screen is handy as well as the ability to speak to the laptop and get it to do what you want, just like Siri.

Excellent value for the money we spent. I love how fast it is and how easy to navigate. Perfect for our in home business! The customer service we received from Raymond, the sales person at Best Buy, was the biggest delight of all. He walked us through the purchase by listening to our needs and wants combined with our budget, threw in some excellent advice...NEVER made feel scammed or like I was dealing with a "salesperson"... HE WAS AMAZING! Thank you Raymond!!

Before buying this laptop I did a lot of comparing with other laptops that I was looking at. I picked the Spectre because because it is thin and light for the specs I wanted. It has a very nice build quality. The laptop feels solid but light. The hinges for switching from laptop to tablet move smoothly and are tight enough to hold the screen or laptop in any position. I have had this laptop for about a month and haven't noticed any performance issues while using it. The keyboard and track-pad are designed perfectly. While I type my palms hit the track-pad but the software knows I typing so the cursor dose not jump around or move where I'm typing. The only thing I don't like is the back-light keyboard. There is only one mode of brightness and when you shut off the lights the button to shut it off is still on and bright. If they could fix the software for that is would be perfect.

On par with other HP PCs I've owned

My first stop is always my Consumer Reports to find 4-5 recommended models, and my second stop is usually Best Buy to see if they carry those models and to see any user reviews. Though this HP was rated very well, so far I find it average. It locked up twice in the first 30 minutes, and locks up several times per week, along with the sound stops when I wake the PC after I've put it in sleep mode. On the positive side, it is very lightweight; comes with a nice sleek softcase, has excellent battery life, and has a fantastic display. I'm no expert, but of the several very annoying problems I've experienced, I'd attribute them to Windows software rather than the HP hardware.

Overall, I'm very impressed with this laptop, and in my job I've put my hands on hundreds of them through the years. This is my first HP, and it won't be my last. Solidly built, speedy, light, great battery life, excellent display. Must share that in the first week I had two minor issues with the laptop. I contacted HP support and had a spectacular experience. My issues were immediately resolved and then the technician offered to make some tweaks that would optimize performance. Then he had me test everything out over the weekend and called back on Monday to ensure that all my issues were resolved. They were indeed. So I'm not only impressed with the laptop, I'm impressed with the company behind it.

I looked at a number of different laptops before selecting the Spectre and this model had everything I wanted. I have been using the laptop now for almost a month and I am still very happy with its performance. The 4K screen is gorgeous in about any light condition and the battery life is very impressive (yet this is one of the lightest ultrabooks around). The only drawback is the SSD size is 256GB, but they also offer a 512GB. The finish on this model is well designed and manufactured, very sharp! I would recommend this laptop for anyone who wants a well performing ultrabook.

Really love this laptop. Lightweight, travels well. Keyboard is easy to use. Like the professional look of this laptop. Only issues I have had is with HP and Windows updates. They come through, but seem to cause minor issues after the updates.
