I was in the market for a new laptop, and wanted one that is a touchscreen. This computer is perfect for my needs. It's the perfect size, (not too big like my previous laptop), and it's lightweight enough that I can take it anywhere. It's a great product and the price was very reasonable. If you need a great and affordable computer, the HP Stream is just right for you!

This is good for those that want something to surf the internet and want a keyboard. If you want it for anything else, get a regular laptop. I got it because it is also compatible with my computer, so I could share files if necessary. The problem with it is that the memory and processor seem to hit max if you do too much so you have to get out of extra tasks with task manager. Also get a 64 gb instead of a 32 like I did, as there wasn't room to upgrade to Windows 10. Not that I cared but some might. Or get it with 10 already installed.
Basically it works okay for what I got it for, and the touch screen is a nice bonus. Worth what I paid for it. Just don't get it if you are actually needing a laptop, as it is essentially a windows tablet with a keyboard.

I purchased this computer several weeks ago on a whim because I wanted a portable computer with a touch screen. Wouldn't you know it! The touch screen failed after a couple of days and I called HP. They went through a lot of testing online and then told me it was a hardware problem. They told me to return it to Best Buy, which I did. I got another one, and it has worked perfectly. It is a beautiful machine. The screen quality is very good. It is light weight and portable. I it is very fast. I have no problems running software. I even put on a virtual machine and have Windows XP running in a separate window so that I can use my legacy programs. The sound quality is also very good. I put in a 64GB SD card so that I have another disk drive if I need it. It accepts hardware peripherals without a hitch. I used an external DVD to load some software, and I used a portable floppy drive to install some of my legacy software. No problem. The battery life is also excellent. I get over 8 hours of continuous usage. I can't say how much I enjoy having this computer and am glad I stuck with it after the initial problem.

great lillte laptop for your basic needs. no hard drive makes it nice for not having to worry about crashes or disk errors could be bigger for storage size for saving things but add a terabyte external drive and your good to go. have had for about a month and love it lets me do all my basic things I need to do and not bulky like most. love the touch screen.

<takes in a big deep breath> My wife and I bought this as a christmas gift for our son. It was not to costly. We talked to an HP rep at Best Buy who helped narrow down a LT that our 8 year old could use without breaking the bank. The exterior looks cool in blue, but its plastic. Once again, it wasn't that expensive. The touch screen is a cool feature for the Windows 8 tile screen that even garnished some envy from out MacBook Pro owning friend. Score one for HP. The computer is not super speedy, but its not that slow either. Albeit, its new and I do not allow him to download junk onto it. For the money, it was a good buy. If your just buying it for a starter computer or for doing basic tasks (word processing, internet surfing, non-grafic intensive kids games) then I recommend it. Just be forwarded, the internal SSD is not that big. We also purchased a 500 GB external to make up for that.

Purchased for a small, light computer with decent battery life to take on business and vacation trips for browsing and completion of reports while on the road. Updated from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 with minor difficulty in that it required a 12 GB minimum usb thumb drive to store temporary and recovery files. I plugged in a 64 GB mini SD for file storage since the OS eats up much of the 32 GB SSD. Boots up fast - battery life is as expected with SSD and no spinning drive or fan. Not a powerhouse by any means but works well for browsing and Office apps. The charger failed a week into use - but HP replaced under warranty with no hassle and prompt shipment. May have been related to use in Europe with 240V 50 cycle power - but label stated the input voltage from 100-240v was acceptable. Price, features and display all were factors considered and I have not been disappointed.

This is a great laptop for the price point.
It has small storage, however this is perfect for school projects and browsing. The screen is touch which was bonus for the $200 price point.
So far it has worked well.
It is light and holds charge well.

I bought this about 6 weeks ago now, and I love, love, love this computer! Yes, I said computer. THIS IS NOT A CHROMEBOOK! This computer works just like any other computer. I have to admit, I'm a processor snob, I thought the celeron processor would be a problem for me, but baby these cerleron's have come a loooong way! I don't notice any difference in this celeron processor compared to my other laptop, at all. It works great for all my needs. The hard drive is a little small, but with all the cloud space, and the SD card expansion ability, not a problem, at least for me.
I really like the white keyboard. Much easier to see, and it's a nice soft touch. It's a nice full size, and it works very well. I think the touch pad could be a little more responsive, quite frankly, I've used better touch pad's, but the touch screen makes up for that. The screen is very responsive, works great, and I wouldn't have another laptop without one. Love, love the touchscreen! And speaking of screens, I really do like the way the screen looks, it's a very good screen for the money.
One piece of advice, I wasn't thrilled with this computer when I first used it out of the box. I highly recommend that you go to HP's website, and do all the HP updates for the computer, BEFORE you do the Window's updates. Everything that I didn't like about the computer out of the box, was completely fixed with the HP updates. Really, I did a complete 180 about my purchase after doing the HP updates. DO THEM FIRST, then the Windows ones. (this is why I'm giving this computer 5 stars)
Anyway, I love this little laptop. I love the size, and I wasn't sure I would, the one I had before this one was an 11.6" size, but this is just enough bigger to work better with web pages, and any onlines websites.
I haven't tried the trial for the Office program that came with, I don't really use office much, I just don't have the need for it-I have an office disk that really just sits here, lol
I'm very happy about this purchase, and I highly recommend this computer. Good job HP!

This laptop is light weight and I love the touch screen. The windows takes some getting used to, but ive grown to like some of its features. I installed some software for a word program since it doesn't come with Microsoft word, data is limited but enough to get my school work done. Looks like I will have to rid my system of all its files after each semester. I hate that the touchpad is hyper sensitive and while I'm typing it jumps to a different area of page giving me double work when I have to edit or rush through it before sending assignment in to professors. Also the pop ups are annoying, it took me a while to change settings so that they're minimal.

This computer is amazing especially for the price! My husband uses it for his fantasy football stuff (plus searching the Web and playing games). It's fast and we love the touch screen! The kids love watching movies on Netflix and playing games on it. I would definitely recommend this one! I'd even buy another if we needed another computer.

It runs good and smooth. The bad thing is the storage. If you want to buy this laptop, then plan on buying extra storage. One thing that should not be expected from this laptop is good gaming. It does run league of legends fairly well but this should be used for light duty. With that said, the laptop is great. Touch screen work beautifully and , like I said, it runs smooth.would definitely recommend.

Got this laptop for my fiance who's going to school. Not recommend for gaming since it doesn't have a lot of memory. Laptop does what it says it will. We have a Mac for other purposes but she needed one for papers and school work. The laptop is not heavy so it's easier to lug around. The color makes it cute. I would've have given it 5 stars except the mouse pad has difficulty identifying when you click. Other than that, good laptop for the price!
