This light weight laptop is built to work more like an overpowered netbook, and that is what it is meant to do. You need to use cloud storage for files of any real size and opening too many programs and tabs at once will really bog it down. Otherwise, it is sleek, fast, the Office 365 subscription is nice and the battery can last for a few hours with moderate usage. Just be aware of what you're getting when you buy and you won't be disappointed.

It is a good computer for a teen. the lack of memory is the reason it doesn't get 5 stars. but the touch screen is very nice and it pretty fast.

Pros:
- slim design
- incredible battery life
- ;looks cool
- relatively fast
- great price
- Office 365 included
Con:
- not really fast, but I guess good enough for the price.....
- has frozen a bunch of times....turns out that you don't need to keep this laptop plugged in; it is designed to run on battery and then recharge when needed.....but if you dont know that, if may freeze up
- Not much disk space, so you need to determine exactly how many apps you really need, and also make sure that you save everything to the cloud (One Drive)

Bought when on sale at BB. Been watching for a under $400, 13"+ touch screen laptop. A larger SSD was preferred, but finding a low cost solution was impossible. This Laptop replaces an ASUS TF101 (10" version of similar which cost more, year ago, which bricked during BIOS updated.) While the 32 GB is too small with the HP recovery partition, the Laptop power and speed exceeds the ASUS it replaces. The cost per performance of the HP Stream cannot be beat. The laptop responds much better using Windows 10 then windows 8.1. However, you need to be somewhat tech savvy to get Windows 10 installed due to the small SSD. Using HP recovery, I backed up the recovery to USB flash drive. Windows 10 has feature to utilized Microdisk or USB disk to help install. Using second disk and installing Windows 10 (after 2 failed attempts, Windows 10 installed and activated). This installation kept the software as an upgrade, but deleted the HP recovery drive (definitely backup the recovery). The deletion of the recovery drive actually improves the system as now have over half the drive available. The computer is best used for internet surfing, Email, Word/Excel along with Quicken 2015 only. Also use to remote into the office PC. This PC is used to allow portable computing for EMail, surfing, etc... Read the official reviews by PC reviewers, along with other reviews to make sure the PC will meet your needs. It is not an office or gaming computer. It is a windows system Chromebook. Using cloud drives along with adding a 64GB Micro disk, computer does what I need.

I purchased this laptop for school, and so far it has been great. The keyboard types extremely well and the track pad is pretty accurate. The touchscreen is also very nice to have, considering it's not a top-tier laptop. 2GB of RAM means it's not a performance laptop, and it probably won't age well, but I'd you need something just for school purposes, this is probably your best option.

From an aesthetic perspective, this is a great looking laptop. In fact, it looks like a much more expensive laptop. It is thin and light and the build quality is excellent. I do wish HP made a black or sliver model, but the blue is nice.
For under $250 I would challenge anyone to find a nicer laptop, much less one with a touchscreen. The screen, though not the highest resolution, is still sharp and bright, and is very responsive to touch. Windows 10 runs great on the Stream 13, with apps opening quickly and running smoothly. The most processor intensive app we've run so far is Netflix, and videos run smoothly without a hiccup.
If you need a small, light laptop, with a touchscreen thrown in, that won't break the bank this is it. I probably wouldn't edit videos on it (though I could), but for the things average users do every day, this is the "little engine that could."
Lastly, if you plan on storing most of your stuff on the computer (as opposed to using the free 15GB Microsoft gives you with OneDrive, plus 15 more if you install OneDrive on your smartphone) you'll probably want to pick up a microSD memory card. With the OS and apps you can fill up 32GB, the included storage, quickly.

Great laptop. Needs more on board memory though. 2 gigs are not enough. Has a tough time upgrading, and I need to dump files in to a seperate flash drive, but for the money, it's awesome. My kids use it for homework and streaming movies. It does an awesome job. Zero slowdown. Recommend it to anyone.

Works perfect for all school work as long as you have an external hard drive and install Windows 10. Just wish it had the option to Upgrade the RAM. It is light weight, and the battery will last all day at school. For the money, this computer is really fast and easy. Just don't expect to do a lot of things at once or fit anything extra on the internal hard drive. Overall, it has been the perfect laptop for me at school, and fit my low budget.

HP Stream 13.3 = Awesome

I absolutely LOVE my HP Stream! I wanted something that was reasonably priced and would allow for me to do everything that I needed to do! I'm a full-time student and also enjoy a little Netflix binge every now and again. This computer is perfect! I love that it is a touch screen because, when I'm doing a few other things and might not have the patience for the mouse, I can just use the touch screen to get to where I need to go! Overall, this is an excellent computer and it comes with Microsoft Office for a year so that makes it even better!!

If you need something one step up from a tablet, but don't want to break the bank, the HP Stream is a great stand in PC to own. It's light, very portable, and gives you all the functions of a normal PC. Battery life is awesome and having touch is an added benefit. Don't expect to store too much on it though as the hard drive space is very small.

I was looking to replace an old Vista unit and did not want to pay too much. Good screen size for viewing videos, utilizing office programs or just surfing the web. Touchscreen was a bonus and one I recommend. Purchase a 32GB+ SD card right away or you will run out of room eventually.

I couldn't get the thousand dollar laptop I wanted, but this has made a decent substitute to hold me over. The touchscreen is nice, although it sometimes doesn't respond right away. The only annoying thing is having virtually no storage space on the computer. Everything has to be stored on the cloud. It gave me a free update to Windows 10, but then wouldn't let me install it because there wasn't enough memory.

I have had my new computer for about a month now, and I must say it works well. I recently put to rest my old 5 year old Sony Vaio Laptop which had been corrupted with a virus. I initially bought this computer as an emergency backup (full time student). The price was reasonable, just not enough space. I plan on giving this computer to one of my siblings, and purchasing a new one with more space.

This is a great little computer, keyboard and touch screen make it super handy. Only drawback is the 32 gigs of on board storage. Constantly having to transfer data to the cloud or external hard drive. not a big chore, but just a little less convenient than having more storage internally.

Even though the price is pretty low, it works as well as my fiances 800$ laptop. And it came with free office for a year. I use a 16g flash drive and was able to update to windows 10 without a hitch, still runs great. The only complaint is the mouse pad, like the 11', can be touchy. But the touch screen overcomes that. I totally recommend for the average computer user.
