Customers appreciate the Victus 15.6" gaming laptop's performance and graphics capabilities, frequently praising its smooth operation and beautiful visuals. Many also find it easy to use and a good value for the price. However, some users point to the battery life and fan noise as areas needing improvement, with comments suggesting the battery could last longer and the fan can be loud at times.

I really like how this doesn’t heat up to be super hot and even when it starts to heat up. The fans are not very loud.

I’m not happy with the battery of this device. It does not last more than two hours running minimally. Of which advertised as 8hours.

Misrepresentation of condition

Purchased an open box computer that was stated “excellent” condition. Excellent condition was described as “like new” but missing box. The computer came very dirty and with scratches on the case. I understand it was an open box but was not happy with how it was represented. I called BestBuy to ask for a reduction of the price to a good condition computer only $16 less. They informed me I would need to drive to the location the computer was mailed from over an hour away to get any discount. I like the computer enough to keep it and the drive is far enough to not be worth but I’m still a bit disappointed. Thank you

Best Buys does not inspect open box items

When it arrived, I noticed the keys were slightly off-center, and I thought, "Hmm, something looks strange." Then, when I viewed it from another angle, I saw a large bulge in the middle of the keyboard. Turns out, the battery was swollen. I returned it, but it took Best Buy a whole week to process the return and issue my refund. Two main issues: (1) either they didn’t inspect the open-box item, or they did and sold it anyway, and (2) the refund process took way too long. This will be my first and last time buying open-box items from Best Buy.

The HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop is a solid entry-level gaming machine that gets a lot right for the price, but it also comes with a few noticeable compromises.
On the positive side, the Intel Core i5-13420H paired with the RTX 3050 handles most modern games surprisingly well on medium to high settings. The 144Hz Full HD display is smooth and makes fast-paced games feel responsive, which is a big plus at this price point. Boot times and game loading are quick thanks to the 512GB SSD, and the Mica Silver design looks clean and more professional than many bulky gaming laptops.
However, the biggest drawback is the 8GB of RAM. It’s usable out of the box, but multitasking and some newer games clearly benefit from an upgrade to 16GB. The cooling system can also get loud during long gaming sessions, and the laptop tends to run warm under heavy load. Battery life is another weak spot—it’s fine for light use, but gaming unplugged drains it quickly.

I can't stress this enough: do NOT buy this laptop. It’s marketed as a gaming computer, but the battery life is a ridiculous 45 minutes! How does that even make sense? As a laptop, I expected to be able to use it unplugged, but instead, I’m tethered to a wall outlet.
I was in the middle of an intense gaming session when the battery died—after less than 45 minutes! I completely lost my game because this laptop just couldn't keep up. What a frustrating experience!
This has been a total waste of money. If it weren’t for the fact that I missed the return window, I would have returned it in a heartbeat. Now I see why it was on sale: it's just plain garbage. Save yourself the headache and look for a different laptop!
