Price to Performance Monster---At a discount

I just picked up this machine on a $500 discount. At sub $900 before taxes, the price to performance ratio is incredible! Pros: Amazing cpu and GPU combination on a laptop. Both can handle most games with ease on a mobile platform. The overall handling of the computer is great and it should be a good workhorse for a while. Cons: Doubt this will replace any meaningful gaming desktop but that is ok for a lot of people. My biggest complaint is the on-board SSD at only 512GB. I wanted to add a secondary drive to this but as soon as I opened it up I saw that there is only one M.2 SSD drive slot. I upgraded it to a 2TB right away but would have been nice to have a second slot for an additional drive. The touchpad sucks. I have had it for less that 12 hours and it gets stuck and locked up a bunch. Heat, even when I am not playing any games this computer is getting hot to touch around the middle of the keyboard even just during regular web browsing. However!!! These cons can most be overlooked due to the price to performance ratio at the $500 discount. But, I would not spend the full price for this machine.

Got this $500 off (wait for that sale) and that made it totally worth it. I'm so impressed with the performance of this, especially after grabbing 32GB DDR5 for $99. They have a YouTube video specifically for this laptop and it's extremely detailed about how to replace pretty much everything under the hood. What surprised me even further is that the fans aren't obnoxious like I expected them to be. They can spin up fast during heavy operations (games or AI) but when they do they're not that bad. Great design, doesn't scream "I'm a gamer and love LED lights". Gets the job done at a great price. Will update my review if I encounter anything bad.

Computer is great. Bought on sale for $899 and had points so got in even cheaper. There are better laptops out there but $900 and 4070 GPU it's worth it. Will be changing out the ram and storage after warranty period over. As is, the laptop is fast, runs games great, doesn't get too hot. Screen is meh, but I use a monitor anyways.

Great performance but bloatware is way too much

Pretty solid laptop but the bloatware installed is way too much it will eat the RAM so fast. Upgraded my ram to 32 gb and it works well, simple install. Still, I find myself wishing it took 64gb for video editing. Adobe software will always slow things down, but I find this setup bogging down faster than my last Legion laptop with a lesser GPU and the i7 cpu. I’m pleased with the computer overall but it does lose a point for expected performance vs actual. For the price it’s a steal on sale, and performs very very well for what it is. If you want top end, this ain’t it but it’s by no means “low quality.” Wish it had two ssd slots but that’s again, nothing I can change and not a flaw, just a lack in my opinion

I was upgrading from my Acer Nitro 5 with 1650Ti and this thing is blowing my mind. I love it! The one problem I have with it is that the left speaker sounds blown... which is a bummer but I'll eventually open it up and take a look to replace it. I bought this because it had 8BG VRAM and I have been able to run Stable diffusion and my video and photo software. I just wish the laptop versions of these cards had the same VRAM as the desktop cards. I thought I was going to hate going from 17' to 16' but it's really not been an issue for me at all! The keyboard feels great, the screen is bright enough for me and the power is just there. I'm truly happy with this purchase.

Absolutely love this thing. I upgraded the ssd and memeory asap as it only had a 512gb ssd and 16gb memory. But light up Keyboard is a plus and the graphics card was a huge plus for the cost. Even with ultra graphics turned on im still getting 60-100 fps. On medium graphics its 150-200 fps. So if your looking for a gaming cpu that wont break the bank and will play most AAA games with ease out the box this is it. Theres only one thing that can get annoying is the fan can get quite loud. But i use a cooling pad underneath so that helps keep it cool enough to keep the fams from turning on full blast.

Bought the HP Victus 16.1” with Ryzen 7 and RTX 4070—this thing flies. Lightning-fast load times, buttery smooth gameplay, and multitasking muscle all wrapped in sleek Mica Silver. I expected a 1TB SSD out of the box, but the 512GB still holds up well. Might upgrade to 32GB RAM and expand storage soon to unlock even more firepower. For now, it's a solid, future-ready machine that's already exceeding expectations.

A good laptop, it does have its issues but it’s a pretty decent build. The fans are pretty noisy it if you have a cooler under it and just watch your temps your fine. I also do homework on it, can’t open as many tabs as my pc but it gets the job done.

I bought this laptop when it was 900 on sale, and so far it’s been great, it is a tad heavy and the speakers are not very loud but I replaced my main setup with this laptop and an external ssd and it’s excellent.

I bought this computer for school. It handles demanding softwares such as CAD, Fusion, Inventor, etc. perfectly fine. I can also play modded VR assetto corsa with my sim racing on high settings perfectly. And plenty other games. So it has done everything i expected. I do wish i got more than half a TB but thats not a huge deal. Battery life isnt great but i just always have it plugged in

I got it as a late birthday gift on sale for $900 but it was totally worth full price. I ran Oblivion remastered on it for a little while and it handles the game perfect so it's pretty powerful. It does overheat a little bit nothing major. My only problem is the 2 hours of battery life seems a little short but that's an easy fix if you can find a new battery to install.

To be clear, I purchased this laptop during a $500 off sale, so I'm not coming from the perspective of paying $1399.99. Out of the box, this laptop is sufficient, great performance in every game I threw at it, reasonable battery life, having the option to run the display at 144hz is a nice touch. With 32gb of installed ram, and a upgraded 2 TB SSD, this laptop is a BEAST. Great cooling solution. As expected, it can get a little loud when really pushing the system. Not too much bloatware.

The HP Victus 16.1" Gaming Laptop** with the AMD Ryzen 7-8845HS and RTX 4070 has exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I powered it on, I could tell this machine was built for both performance and reliability. The combination of the Ryzen 7-8845HS and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 delivers outstanding speed and smooth gameplay, even with demanding titles. I’ve been able to run AAA games at high settings without a hitch, and multitasking feels effortless thanks to the 16GB DDR5 memory. The 16.1-inch screen is crisp, vibrant, and ideal for both gaming and productivity. The Mica Silver finish gives it a sleek, modern look that stands out without being overly flashy. The build feels solid and premium. The 512GB SSD ensures lightning-fast boot times and quick loading across the board. While heavier gamers might eventually upgrade storage, it’s more than enough to get started. HP did a great job with the cooling system. Even during longer sessions, the laptop stays cool and the fan noise remains surprisingly manageable. The HP Victus 16 is an outstanding mid-to-high-end gaming laptop that offers exceptional power for the price. Whether you're gaming, streaming, or working on creative projects, it handles everything with ease. Highly recommended for gamers looking for performance without breaking the bank!

Been looking at options and this one is a good start. The biggest drawback is the hard drive. I bought this on sale for 2 main reasons: the Ryzen 7 8th gen processor and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU. Having saved $400 off the bat; I put that money into boosting the RAM from 16 gb to 32 gb and a 4 TB Samsung pro hard drive. Now she's a beast. Im surprised that desktops with these specs cost close to $2700, but I was able to get this laptop there for around $1200 with the savings and a trade in. Therefore, this has alot of value and potential if you coordinate with other deals like the upcoming holidays.
