Signal strength is obviously weaker than Samsung

I switched from my Samsung Galaxy S5 to this earlier, haven't switched my carrier, but the signal strength is obviously weaker than before. I tested with my wife's iPhone and sometimes when mine is in "3GS" or "1x", my wife's is always "LTE".

Hello, we're very sorry to hear about your signal strength being weak. We ask that you reach out to your service provider since it sounds like a connection/signal issue with the cell towers in your area. You can also check with the carrier to make sure your APN settings are correct and matching with theirs. To access that information, check under phone settings > cellular network. Great Phone, Great Design, Great Reception on VZW

Picked up my phone about 5 days ago, and so far I am really impressed with it. To start off I am currently using the phone with Verizon Wireless (considering moving to Project Fi) and I am coming from a 2 and a half year relationship with a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. If it wasn't for the signal issues with the Note 3, I probably would have kept it as it worked fine, just the fact that I would constantly lose signal and than would have to reset the phone to be able to get a signal back. When I hold the Nexus 6P next to the Note 3 in my office, I am lucky to get one bar of 3G on my Note 3 where my Nexus 6P has a solid LTE connection. Ok enough about that. So far with the Nexus 6P I have not noticed anything less than a decent LTE connection. The phone feels great, maybe even a bit on the thin side, but I have always put my phone in a case for protection so I prefer a bit more bulk (would hate to drop or break it), but it does feel great when not in a case. The phone is fast, battery life has been great (though Mailwise has been eating up the battery pretty good, unfortunately I need Mailwise so that I can use the fingerprint to open phone with activesync security bypass), and the camera has been outstanding. I love the fingerprint reader, I have not had any issues with it, but I did set up both index fingers twice trying to get it to read every possible position that I might tap the sensor, but I have not had an issue so far where it didn't recognize my finger with a single tap. I have loaded up all my apps, transferred over all my music and movies, set up my screens with all of my widgets and I am really enjoying Marshmallow. Debating on using a different launcher, but so far stock has been fine, and the fact that this phone will be supported for at least a couple years was probably one of its biggest selling points - I hate being abandoned by the carrier and manufacturer after a year or so - and I became tired of relying on rooting to keep my phone up to date (don't get me wrong, I have nothing against rooting and custom roms, it was just an addiction that I am happy I was able to kick). Looking forward to using this phone for a couple years - only thing I look forward to on my next phone is the new battery technology that they are working on that would allow up to a week of use before needing a charge - other than that, not sure what else this phone needs. Oh, I will mention that I was disappointed with the verizon guys in the BestBuy Store. I stopped by after picking up my new toy to get a Nano Sim card, they were confused and wanted to charge me for a new card as my Note 3 used a Micro Sim, so I told them I would just stop by the Corporate Verizon store on my way back to my office. They tried to insist that I would be charged there as well, but I was in and out of the Verizon store in probably 10 minutes, no charge, and they made sure that everything was activated and working before I left, this is really something that the reps at BestBuy should have been able to do - or at the very least they should have been able to give me a new sim card.

Paid $500+ for this when first purchased. I liked it but things have changed big time. Being that I purchased this about 14 months ago Google and Huawei both say they can't help with this unreliable device. Google wouldn't even help at all since they said it wasn't purchased from them (no matter when I called, 1 day later or 1 year later). I am one of the many who can't depend on the device because of the horrible battery. Some time ago (not a primary so didn't call when first noticed) I noticed the battery changed for the worse. But it's the way I can't trust the battery gauge to accurately tell me how much battery life I have. Saying I have 60+ percent of battery and not even streaming 10 minutes of video on Wifi shouldn't kill my device. Unplugging my phone after charging overnight shouldn't be showing 80 something percent after just 15 minutes. Again, I haven't used this as a primary in a long time so I never felt the urge to call and go through all the customer service bs. But with this happening to more than a couple people I would hope people could get the issue resolved. It's not like they allow you to easily switch the battery with these latest devices. It's something because I know little differences are at hand. But when I call Apple because of issues with my device they don't say, "sorry can't help since you didn't purchase your device from us". "Call Verizon since that's who you got it from". Or "call Foxconn since that's who made it". I call and they don't pass the buck to someone else. Seems easy to say call Verizon or Best Buy since that's what Google does when I call them. Just something to keep in mind I guess.

This phone knocks it out of the part in almost every regard. Great battery life. With doze feature in Marshmellow I can leave my phone unplugged overnight and lose 1-2% percent of my battery life at most. Fingerprint reader on the back is fantastic. Great placement and lightning fast. Camera is great, although if it had OIS (Optical image stabilization) it would have been perfect. Getting the latest software updates before anyone else and the ability to use on any network around the world, including Google Fi is huge. 64 GB is the perfect amount of space. Never feel like I need more, even if Micro SD would have been a nice addition. This is one of the first devices I have had in a long time that I did not feel the need to root, unlock the bootloader and flash a custom ROM with Xposed Module on, which is very freeing.

    Best Android Phone To Date!

I've been a long-time iPhone user but have been keeping an eye on the Nexus 6P since the early rumor days. I bought it about a month after it became available for pre-order and have been loving it ever since! I absolutely love the camera. It takes great low-lighting shots and the slow-motion video features is also great. 4K video also looks gorgeous! The phone itself is fast and smooth and nothing beats the pure Android experience. I highly recommend the Nexus 6P to anyone who's looking for a new phone, even long-time iPhone users like myself.

Phone works great! The fingerprint reader is in a better location compared to the iPhone. Phone works smooth and no complaints so far. The low star rating is for the following reason: I lost my charger and I attempted to purchase a new one. When I was unable to find it, I contacted Huawei and here is the response I received: "Hello, []. Thank you for contacting Huawei Device USA. I'm sorry to hear that you lost your Nexus 6P charger. Unfortunately, we do not sell the original chargers for the devices. They would have to be purchased from a third party vendor. Also, using a third party charger voids the warranty on the device. I wish there was more I could do for you, []. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us again." So basically to answer my question you cannot buy an original charger. They also added that if I use any other charger my phone's warranty is voided.

Easily the best Android phone ever

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I've read many proclamations that the 6P is a great phone or that it's the best Android phone, but that can be hard to believe until you've actually used it for a few days. Those reviews are pretty much true and it easily bests my LG G4 and HTC One M8. The fingerprint reader is fast and accurate and its placement on the back is not a hindrance to using Android Pay. Huawei positioned the NFC tag in the black visor area so you can easily tap and pay while your finger is on the print reader. The gold color looks nice and is subtle, not obnoxious. And the thin body feels good in the hands. (But it's a little slippery so get a case or be careful.) Only mark against it is the lack of SD card but Google just hates them for some reason. The good news is Android 6 supports thumb drives natively now so the Sandisk USB C thumb drive works fine with many file explorers now. Overall, I'm very happy with this phone and plan on sticking with it for some time.

My daughter had to have this phone. She chose not to pay $200 for the warranty - big mistake. 10 months in it started shutting down at 25 -30 % charge. The phone had to be charged several times a day. She now has a phone with a removable battery.

    Best Smartphone Yet!

I am going from a nexus 5 (which is still going strong except the battery!), to this great phone. Size is too big to manage initially (looks larger than it seems in the website) but is worth the tradeoff considering the large battery, excellent big productive screen, quick and very accurate fingerprint sensor and a very nice camera! Got a great deal from BBUY including the gift card of $ 25, $ 50 off, and a 5% cash back when buying with BBUY card. You cannot go wrong with this phone, it is probably better than iPhone 6s plus 64GB in many ways and only half the iPhone's price. Marshmallow Android 6.0 is incredibly smooth. Setting up the phone with google accounts and restoring data was smooth and flawless. Battery on my first day lasted over 14 hours with 4 hours SOT and still left with about 20%. Get a case and screen protector for this beauty!. Dual stereo speakers are awesome! The screen lights up with notifications when your pick up the phone, it has also a LED notification light, great front facing camera, laser auto focus for the rear camera. The gold color is actually light champagne is not obnoxiuos at all, though aluminum might have a better color. Oh almost forgot the charging is very fast, for such a big battery it only takes 90 minutes. Android OS is now way superior to iOS.
