    Awesome Phone!

    I really like this phone. It's fast and powerful and able to run all my apps. I really enjoy the app clean up mode as well as the harassment filter. The screen tends to crack easily so you should get a screen protector. The aluminum backing isn't heavy and really helps to put a little weight on the phone, which I prefer.

    Lots of lag

    Lags a lot more than my Samsung Grand Prime(prepaid t-mobile phone). Factory settings on some features are extremely annoying. You HAVE to swipe before you can put in your pin/pattern to unlock your phone(than whats the point of the pin/pattern?). When using your phone and you want to exit out to main screen you HAVE to double tap the home button(than whats the home button for?). Single tap will launch a google search. Timer is set to the MINUTES ONLY. Cannot set seconds - so annoying(what good is timer for if cannot set seconds?). Just bought it because i'm traveling soon and needed the unlocked dual sim features.

      Hi There, we understand your concerns with the Honor 5X and some settings features. Most of these settings are factory and cannot be changed. With the timer, you can only set it to whole minutes, then once you press start, it will start counting down with seconds included. Unfortunately, you will not be able to set the timer to half minutes. To improve speed, make sure you close out of any unused apps, clear caches, and shut down the device each day for about 5 minutes to let it refresh itself. (NS) HuaweiCustomerCare

      We appreciate your feedback on the Honor 5X! To set your alarm:

      On the home screen, touch Clock. Under Alarm, touch the add icon. Then set the alarm time, repeat cycle, and ringtone, and touch Done. Your calendar and calculator will be in your applications folder.

      To search for an app, flick down the home screen to access the search screen. Then, you can view the latest apps and enter the apps, contacts, and information in the search box. (NS) HuaweiCustomerCare

If you have not yet, I recommend going into the Phone Manager app. Here you would be able make sure your phone it running at full optimization. as well you will also be able to change the battery settings to better suit your needs.     Awful customer service from Huawei. Long read

    These are nexus 6p phones but this in direct reflect of Huawei customer service. Sorry for any spelling errors. I am a huge fan of pure android and love the updates nexus phones give you. I have had 2 of these phones and enjoyed them till i had issues. The first one I had I bought with geek squad. After 8 months of use my phone would not turn back on. They did not Have the phone in stock but since it was an unlocked phone they replaced it with a different phone of the same coast. Well the sad part is that I did not buy the geek squad on my other phone.. it was is 8 months old and suffered from the batter shut down and boot loop issues of recent.. Here is how Huawei has treated me since I sent them my repair unit for warranty repair/replacement I called and spoke with the an agent (888-548-2934).. we went through the whole manufacturer re-set and agreed there was an issue covered by warranty and send it in. They said it would take 7-10 business days which I agreed and understood. The sent me a label to send in sent it to them. It set at their facility over 3 working days. I called to see if they received my phone.. later that day they finally sent me an email saying they had it and were on its way to repair it. so i said ok. From there is when things get crazy so I will list them from here. You cannot make this stuff up. 1. I called on the 5th day and were still working on it but said to call after the 7th day. The 8th day i called to see how it was going. They couldn't find my phone. Spoke with a supervisor finally found my phone. He said that it could actually take up to 15 business days for them to fix it or send a repair. I was frustrated but understood. 2. I called on the 12th business day. The person placed told me to have patience that it was on the assembly line. So i called on the 13th day to check on it since it was a Friday. The first person i called told me my phone was sent the day before. She gave me a tracking number that went to a complete different state, in which I told her so she gave me more tracking numbers. She gave me 3 tracking numbers in which went to 3 different addresses in 3 different states. We lost contact so i called again and this new agent told me my phone was still on the assembly line. They he said they were sending replacements but would get new tracking numbers daily and to call the next day. I waited a couple days till Monday and called back. 3. I called on Monday (14th) business day. Told me still working on it. But to call the next day. I got the same response and run arounds for the next 2 days (15-16th business day). Some said they couldn't find my phone so had to call back. On the 17th business i spoke with someone and they said my phone was sitting there for 4 business days waiting to ship and they were having shipping delays. He promised me my phone would ship out by the next day. So I called back again and the agent sent me to a supervisor in which told me my phone was still on the impassibly line at the repair center and that he was going to email them and make my case a priority. I asked him questions and said they have had it where it has taken more than 30 business days before someone received their phone. 4. I waited a day or 2 and called. Still on the assembly line and said they asked for 3 more business days. She said a lot of lies on things multiply times I caught her on and told her. I called the next day same answers and run around. I called again today and they couldn't find my phone so asked to speak with a supervisor. I thought I would drill them on questions to find out something’s. i asked him why they wouldn't send a replacement device if it was taking so long. Asked him what a manufacture phone was.. he didn't know that. So i thought I would dig in deeper. I got the supervisor to admit they were a call center that in a different country out of the USA that takes calls from different companies, including Huawei, that pays to take calls for customer service. They have to email Huawei the complaints of customers and that you have to go through their call center to speak to Huawei. This is why they can't direct you to any other department and why customers or hung up with no answers. I have had more issues and lies from the representatives but this would be way too long to read. Huawei doesn't deal directly with their customers but uses a call center to take the heat giving out false information so they don't have to deal with argument. I am going on a month since they have had my phone "at the repair center" with no way to contact Huawei other than the call center in which can't do nothing but email complaints to Huawei. The call center is useless. With not being able to find any info of a repair Huawei has Customers in the dark and makes it seem that once you have bought their phone and paid for it, you are not a valued customer anymore. Very disappointed since the phone was great in the begging and really had some strong points, but in this day of age there are a lot of options out there with much better customer service.

    Great Features, Poor Performance

    I purchased this device less than 1 year ago because I read all the great ratings from reviewers. I will say that there are many great features (price, internal storage, look, feel) about the phone, but also many less than desirable issues, so I'll stick to the main two. 1. The camera is terrible in low light. My 4 year old HTC M7 does a better job with that. 2. This phone freezes A LOT and locks up for a long time if you try to multi task. For example, if you want to share something from the internet to social media, it locks up. If you use the Google voice commands (IE: to navigate you home) it lags slower than a dead turtle. Even now, as I type this review, the keyboard is locking up. I have over 2GB of free space, so it's not that. My guess is the small chipset and/or only 2 GB RAM.

To improve lag and speed up your device, we ask that you take advantage of Huawei's Phone Manager: use an SD card for extra storage, clean up cache of apps, and restoring factory settings is also a good choice.     Poor Manufacturer Support

    I originally loved this phone due to the low price and the ability to upgrade to Marshmallow. Well, after I did a manual Marshmallow upgrade(downloaded filed from the HiHonor website), I can no longer use the GPS. I can't use Google Map nor Waze. I contacted Honor and was told that I could either send it back for an OS downgrade or wait until the fix comes out which they had no idea when. I now have a phone that I can't use the GPS. This is a major problem for me as my job requires me to travel 50% of the time and I can't live without the GPS. I am returning the phone and look for something else instead.

    Applications kept closing

    Often the applications kept closing when I tried to use them - was annoying! Showed it to the Huawei representative at the Best Buy store, he said it was probably a software issue. Fingerprint recognition worked well, it's a good feature.

    Phone worked great for 3 days

    I received the phone on September 1st. Today is 9/7/2016 and phone is dead. It worked great for 3 days. I was very happy with it, but today it became very hot and died. I can not turn it back on. It's been an hour and it is still hot. Best Buy is sending me a new phone, but some data is going to be lost and I am going to be 2 days without the phone. I asked BestBuy for extended warranty for the replacement phone since I kind of lost faith in this phone, but they denied. I hope that a replacement phone will last me much longer than 3 days.
