Great but needs to improve

The only thing I don’t enjoy is that I struggle sometimes for it to stay attached to the laptop, it doesn’t perfectly fit my 13” MacBook Pro. When I’m working with an external hard drive it can get a big annoying that it keeps unplugging because the device can’t stay fixed

Good device/Hub

However, I found that the connection was not always good and had to remove the device then connect it back for the MacPro laptop to recognize it. Once connected and working it did what I need which was connect a USB thumb drive and copy over photos.

Don't be too gentle with it!

Just one bit of advice: don't be too gentle when connecting the hub to your computer. I spent much more time than necessary, including trying some SMC-related solutions suggested by the manufacturer, trying to get the hub to work A bit more trial-and-error and I suddenly realized that I hadn't pushed the hub in far enough to make a good connection. Occam's Razor for the win!

Best multi-port solution!

With all the USB C ports in my new Apple laptop, one of my biggest concerns was compatibility. This easily hooks up and I love that there isn’t a cord to try to navigate around.

Not the biggest fan of this adapter

I did not like that, especially using it to connect external drives. I ended up buying a single usbc adapter instead.

Good Buy

I work on a lot of video projects and love that I can have access to so many external pieces. Not a fan of the extra piece that is supposed to help with support. The piece doesn't work for my MacBook for some reason.

I was getting 600mbs when directly into the MacBook Pro but only 300-400 on the dock with the same drive and same test. All other features work great

Not as advertised, Poor quality, Drives don't work

It is just a piece of plastic that bridges the space b/w the computer and the device. If it didn't have the space it would be totally unnecessary. It also doesn't properly align/attach to the device. Did they not test fit these? Connected to my new PRO and the connection is forced and rough. I feel bad for my ports having done that to them. Connected my Mac monitor via thunderbolt and it took about 30 seconds to come alive. Then the connection blinked in and out. An external hard drive was not detectable through the thunderbolt ports. I'm wary to reconnect this and try to use it- likely just returning it. May try a swap in case this is defective. As of now, total junk, DO NOT BUY.

Just what I needed

I went with this one as it was their second generation and reviews were good. I am pleased to say that I am happy with the build quality and range of ports. It is small and easy to throw in with my laptop. The "vegan" leather case is a nice addition as well. I also like that the color matches my MacBook Pro. Overall no issues and I would recommend!
