This hyper drive has everything you need for a mac all in one small device. I mostly use the usbs and the hdmi. I always make sure to carry it around with me. Although it does heat up if used for an extended amount of time.

I bought this for my MBP 15inch 2017 model with the 2 usb-c ports on either side. It has adapters for HMDI, 2 usb-c, 2 usb-a 3.1, micro and regular SD cards. It's small and compact and fits neatly on either side of the MBP when I need it. It beats carrying several dongles just to use different items to your MBP. My only quirk that I found was although the adapter is mostly snug, if moved out a slight bit will disconnect anything attached to the device. So advice when using transferring huge or sensitive files, place it on a stable surface and save yourself some frustration.

Bought this item for the 2017 MacBook Pro. You have to force the product into the USB-C ports. Almost feel like you are going to break it. Also, gets hot when you connect external drives or memory cards.

This is perfect if you have mostly USBs instead of USB-Cs. It is much cheaper to purchase this instead of individually purchasing numerous converter cords (which are much more costly if accompanied together). It is the perfect size and easy to use!

It works if you need to attach a micro-usb or HDMI cord, but its very wobbly and feel it causes it to overheat more. Other than that ive had it for more than a year now and still works. blends in nicely with the laptop, but definitely a nuisance to travel with especially on plane. Always afraid of bumping into it and breaking the internal attachment but has not happened. Pretty expensive for what it is.

I was appalled when Apple decided to remove all practical ports on their MacBook Pros and replace them with a single, largely unsupported, port requiring lots and lots of adapters. I would have needed one for my camera card, one for HDMI to make presentations, two for my USB thumb drives and presentation clicker to advance my slides. The HyperDrive USB Type-C Hub eliminates all of those pesky dongles hanging off of my laptop and replaces it with a single, sleek, good looking, extension hub that gives me all of the ports that I had on my older MacBook Pro. This is exactly what Apple should have provided in the first place. Sad that we have to pay so much to get what should have been on the computer from the manufacturer, but it works great and it's really small for traveling. I highly recommend it.

I gave it a 4 because it takes a little effort to get seated into both ports but once it’s in, works like a charm. Looks great and matches the color of my MacBookPro. Mitch better than a bunch of dongles that Apple sells.

I have not used yet so I can’t offer an opinion as to performance at this time. I purchased it because my new MacBook didn’t have normal ports built in. I like the fact that this product has them all in one piece.

Can charge laptop and use USB C to HDMI from this. Will not power a superdrive via standard or usb c to USB adapter (have to use the native port to power superdrive). SD reader is good but a little tight for cards.

So on the new Mac book air you only have two lightening 2.0 ports. This little amazing device gives you all the extra ports you need including HDMI. Best of all it’s plug and play!

I would say this addition made my MacBook Pro more usable and accessible. Coming from the MacBook Air and having multiple ports, the current lineup of the MacBook Pros having no ports besides the 4 USB-C ports left me needing to find a solution. This hub is great and it’s an elegant answer to the limited ports issue. I am very happy with the product and experience knowing now that I have all the ports I need.

We all know that the MacBook only gives you 2 USB-C ports So this dock is a great addition. It gives you the opportunity to use your devices that have not converted ports as of yet. The dock is not compatible if you have a hard case on your laptop. I had to alter my hard case in order for the dock to have a flush fit. Still a great item if you have to use more that 1 port.

The overall design, function and use is great. It fits the niche where Macbooks don't have all the inputs/outputs that you need. I would put it in the "must buy" category when you buy a Macbook Pro. You can't go wrong getting it, it connects fine with my LG 29" ultrawide monitor, external hard drives and SD Cards.

I was so excited to purchase my new Mac Pro Touch until I got home and realized absolutely nothing I had would work with it - nothing. Couldn't connect my HDMI cable, projector, etc. This little dealy fixes that, it's very small, matches the computer and allows you to use/connect everything you will ever need.

This hyperdrive is nice additional to my 13 inch macbook pro. From the look of it, its perfectly finished and sturdy; doing its connectivity job very nice and transfer the data without any issue. Since it is lightweighted,i often had problem with this product; that it comes out of the cport if its connected to a exteranl usd harddisk and if you are moving your macbook here and there leaving the harddisk disconnected at times. This is quite annoying that this product cannot withstand little pressure from devices connected through this drive.

I bought this device to expand the USB ports on my Macbook. It works just as described. The only drawback is that it does not allow my protective case to sit properly. I have to remove the bottom protective case in order to use this device. Not a major issue and perhaps I could have purchased a case that accommodated the use of a port expander, but I could not find one.

With the new MacBooks, you only have 4 USB Type-C connections, which means you need adapters if you want to use HDMI, standard USB, or a flash drive. This device does all of them, and also allows you to charge your MacBook at the same time. This fits snuggly over two of the USB-C ports. Other reviews have said this device is flimsy and pops out easily, but I have not found that to be the case. I bought this on sale, so for me, it was a big savings over buying individual accessories or an external hub. Like it so much, bought another one at full price for my spouse.
