I purchased these roughly 2 months ago and wanted to give them adequate play time before reviewing. This is a non-biased review, as well this is the only true gaming headset I've ever owned. Not that it matters much but the packaging is of premium quality. I loves unboxing these, I did so in my truck outside of Best Buy and immediately plugged them into my OnePlus 5T to give them a test run. My initial feelings were of disappointment, the headset lacked of good bass response and were much quieter than I expected. That is until I took them home and plugged them up on my Xbox One X, the headset turned into a different kind of beast. Sound: Depending on the phone you use (I've tried iPhone, OP5T and Samsung Galaxy 9) the headset can feel lacking. This also depends on what you are doing, music vs. PUBG Mobile on my OP5T are two different spectrums. This headset IMO is truly designed to enhance and perform well around games. On my Xbox One X the headset comes to life yet again - PUBG, Fortnite, COD:BO 4, Tomb Raider and RDR2 all sound great, you can hear directional footsteps, gunshots etc. Bass is not boomy, I'd say it's pronounced, in a good way. Highs/mids are good with the highs being a bit louder than I'd prefer, though that's very subjective. Comfort: The memory foam cups are extremely comfortable, the leatherette plays a large role in that. I've worn these for a good 8 hours with only a few short breaks in between and never noticed any real discomfort. The cups and headband are large enough to accommodate a good sized head. I consider myself to have large ears and I don't get any rubbing or touching on the ear itself. Quality: To me these are very well made headsets, I'm careful with them but not to an extreme and they have held up well so far. The rubber finished texture on the cups does attract some dust and fingerprints but nothing excessive or annoying to deal with. A quick wipe on your shirt and they look just fine again. I also really like the detachable mic and cord, for me this is a huge win since you can get replacement of either items when or if the post/mic wear out. The mic offers a lot of flexibility and everyone I've talked to so far says the mic quality is great. I've even used them for taking phone calls and I've gotten good feedback on mic sound quality. Cons: Microphonics....Yes this headset has them due to the cable. The cable has a rough texture cover and therefor rubbing against your controller or any surface transfers to the cups. It's not overly annoying but it is noticable. Summary: If you are looking for a nice, quality gaming headset these are a great option! If you are looking for something strictly for music, maybe consider a different option. Overall though if you want something for an all around headset with occasional music you can't go wrong with these.

Excellent sound quality, good reproduction of sound throughout the spectrum with decent bass.I bought this headset for doing online calls for work. I wanted a wired over the ear headphone because I'm an audiophile and want a rich sound experience when I listen to music but I also spend a lot of time on Goto Meeting and Zoom calls during the work day so I needed something that was comfortable. The frame of the headset is aluminum, so it is strong but lightweight. The headset came with an extension cord that serves as a dual-plug adapter that you can plug into separate headphone and microphone jacks in case your machine doesn't support a single all-in-one jack. With the cord that is attached to the headphones and the extension that was included, I had plenty of cable to work with to route the cables neatly and still have plenty with which to work. There was even a little travel bag included in case you need to take your headphones on the road.

I'm fairly picky with headphones. If they aren't comfortable or get too hot, I won't wear them. I read reviews, and basically wanted the best headset I could get in the $100-ish range. I had settled on the Cloud II's, but noticed a newer, updated version just came out. There weren't a ton of reviews on the Cloud Alpha out when I decided to buy mine, but general consensus was they had great sound quality and even more comfort than the Cloud II's. I'm no audiophile by any means, but the audio from my Cloud Alpha headset has been crisp and clear. Bass has enough punch, but the clarity is there as well. Are they $300+ studio quality headphones? No. But they sound awesome at their price point, and my friends on Discord say that my mic audio is crystal clear. Pair that with super soft ear cups I can use for hours at a time, and we have a winner in the $100 range.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt obligated for these pair of headphones. For those of you looking for a pair of good gaming headphones, know that the alphas deliver in both sound and comfort. I have tried two pairs prior to this; the Astro a40’s and a10’s. The Astro a40’s sounded great, and especially with the MixAmp, it is hard to beat. The headphones are a little on the heavy side, but for $250 it did not seem justifiable. I then looked at the a10’s since the amps are the same ones used on the a40’s. These headphones sounded great too. Good bass and makes it easy to gain awareness in your surroundings, especially for cod ww2 and bf1. However, the reason I ended up returning the alphas was both their large footprint and their being uncomfortable sitting on your head. The headphones were overall bulky and unnecessarily large. The foam piece on the very top of the headphone is very firm and very small, so the entire weight of the headphone is concentrated at that point, making the portion of your head that makes contact very hard uncomfortable. Honestly had to adjust the headphones every 10 min or so in order to continue playing due to lack of comfort. Now for the alphas; straight out of The box, these headphones felt premium. The headphones have brushed aluminum on the side plates, complete top leather finish and stitching, and leather ear cups. The leather and memory foam used in the ear cups makes the headphones so comfortable. They are as compact as can be, as they do have the dual chamber design. They look nice and feel very comfortable and can play for hours without any discomfort. The sound is also amazing. There is no distortion and footsteps and sounds in the background are very distinguishable, giving you an edge on the battlefield. This can also be played with everyday music, making this a very solid choice. I could not recommend these headphones more. $100 May seem like a lot, but it is an investment over other cheap headsets like afterglows, astro a10’s, etc.

I bought these to replace 6 year old Turtle Beach headphones for my Xbox one. These headphones sound awesome. Just enough bass without being over powering. In general the sound is very balanced. Comfort wise, the headphones are very comfortable and can be worn for multiple hours without comfort issues. The only issue I’ve had, is if the headphone are plugged directly into my Xbox one controller, the sound volume is quite low. I have the Microsoft headphone controller adaptor, which plugs into the bottom controller and allows quick volume and mic mute. When I plug the headphones into the adaptor, then the volume is of a normal level. Other than that I highly recommended these headphones.

It’s been a little over a year now and i’ve had no issues. Feels comfortable, the microphone is easily adjustable, and the audio quality is good on both ends. If you want something at a decent mid range price, I would recommend giving these a try. Ill check back in another year or so.

This headset has good sound quality, and decent bass. I wouldn’t put it up there with my Beyerdynamic Custom Game, but for the price it’s an excellent value. Its big size makes it sitting over my ear comfortable, though I prefer velour over fake leather since it gets messy and peels over time leaving little black leather peels all over your ears. This is my second HyperX headset. I believe I had a Cloud 2 prior and kept it as a backup but I eventually gave it to my nephew when his Logitech broke. I would definitely venture into trying higher priced HyperX headsets just to see how much better it can get.

I purchased 5 pairs of headphones until I finally landed on these. Choosing headphones is like buying a car...well, that's how it is for me anyway. I needed a pair of headphones that I could wear most of the day because I'm a Software Engineer and I'm on calls quite a bit. To be honest, I'm probably listening to music most of the day....(Don't tell). I wanted a pair of headphones that were comfy, had deep ear cups, soft pads, not too heavy, great call quality and mic quality, great sound quality for music, and I also wanted it to sound great if I used it for gaming...Basically I wanted it to be good for everything. I tried the wireless route for a while, but in my experience you always trade music quality for wireless connectivity, so I decided to go wired. This is my favorite pair of headphones I've ever had. I also hate the idea of spending $200+ on a a pair. If anything about a super expensive pair were to suck, it becomes intolerable for me because of how much I forked out. I hate that feeling. I got this pair on sale for $80. Even the $99 price is worth it. When listening to music, it's like all the instruments and vocals all have their own positioning so you can hear everything clearly, not compressed or anything. Great bass, mids, and highs. I love playing Rocket Leauge, and these fit the bill for that too. That game has never sounded so good. As far as call quality goes, I have had no complaints about my mic and I have no complaints about the audio. I have been made fun of for my big puff ball mic though....lol. I don't care. Worth it. Bottom line is, if you don't want to spend a ton of money, you don't have to. You can get a killer pair of headphones for $100. This set has my vote hands down. I almost want to buy more just in case they go away one day. Then I'd be set for years.

I recently tried the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wired Gaming Headset, and it's been a great experience. The sound quality is excellent, with clear and immersive audio. The comfort is top-notch thanks to the memory foam ear cups and padded headband, making it perfect for long gaming sessions. It works seamlessly across multiple platforms, including PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices. The build quality is robust with a sturdy metal frame. While some users have noted microphone issues, I found it decent for casual chats. Overall, it's a solid choice for those valuing sound quality, comfort, and durability. However, if you prefer wireless, you might want to consider an alternative.

I upgraded to the Alpha headset from the CloudX because my pet decided that the cord suddenly made a good chew toy. The Alpha is super comfortable- much like the CloudX was. Now to be honest, I pretty much only use this to play PUBG with my buddies and that’s it. So I don’t have much to compare the 2 headsets to. That being said, I can’t say that I notice a HUGE improvement in sound quality but I will say that it does seem a little more clear and the bass/ highs seem a little more focused and tighter. Also, the stereo sounds a bit wider and more detailed; so footsteps and surrounding gunshots are easier to pinpoint. All in all, if you’re not a huge gamer and/ or you’re not an audiophile and don’t need the absolute best sound quality, the CloudX would suit you just fine and you would save a little money by doing so. But if you want that little extra sound quality (and better looks in my opinion), then go for the Alpha! You can’t go wrong with either! The only gripe that I really have with this headset is the volume control doesn’t have any sort of orientation aids to help you distinguish what’s up and what’s down. So every time I go to adjust the volume, I usually end up turning the wheel the wrong way from what I want. Not a big deal but something that I feel could be improved on.

These headphones definitely get the job done. But I have to warn you...if your looking for surround sound bass bumping headphones, these are NOT it. They are not beats headphones where you can listen to music and feel movement. These headphones are designed for clarity. The headset combines a nice mix of low to medium bass where you can still hear footsteps and enemies talking. Great for modern warfare gaming but not for plugging into computer for music. If your looking for a simple GAMING headset then these will work great on budget. Granted if you want more sound control then you’ll have to shell out more money for the higher end version of these. Or use something like turtle beaches which I use for my console games only and not pc. I just wanted something average for pc and this works great. Despite being all plastic they are very durable. I haven’t had any issues and I don’t feel like the braided cable is going to short out. The custom bag that comes with the headphones is cheap but I’m not listening to the bag when I play so who cares. And when I stream I take the mouth mic off and use my yeti mic instead. Versatile I must say.

I’ve been using the HyperX Cloud Alpha headset for a couple of weeks now, and overall, I’m really impressed. The sound quality is fantastic—crisp highs, solid mids, and the bass packs a punch without being overwhelming. It’s perfect for both gaming and listening to music. The build quality is also solid. The metal frame feels durable, and the ear cushions are super comfortable, even during long gaming sessions. The detachable mic is a nice feature, and the sound clarity when communicating is great, though it’s not as crisp as some higher-end mics out there. My only real complaint is the cable. It feels a bit stiff, and I wish it were braided for more durability. For the price, this headset delivers excellent performance and comfort. It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty close! 4/5 stars.

I got it for a really good price and it is so comfortable. This is so much better then the turtle one that I own and it was double the price. My only complaint is that it is a little bit heavy, maybe my head is too big and my neck cant support it. Sounds quality is great and no complaints about the mic from my friends.

This is our second headset of this brand. Our first was a $40 (sale price) version they make which lasted an impressive 3 years with heavy use. We felt confident enough to buy a more expensive replacement. The comfort is incredible. Doesn't squeeze your head and feels light and easy. The sound is wonderful. We think the fixed mic position may eliminate a point a weakness. Very happy with this brand and this product in particular. If you can only afford their cheaper models, don't be sad tho. They will also serve you well. Happy gaming!!

First thing first. They do not hurt your head after a few hour session. I’ve tried many other headsets and found that the sound is accurate, bass is very nice, and they are very comfortable on my head. The headphones will not break the bank and they do have a volume and mute button attached to the cable that plugs into you Xbox or other type of device.

Great headset. Sound quality is awesome, and when wearing them it almost feels like they are noise cancelling. especially love the directional sound in games like Cyberpunk and I'm sure many others, its like the character's ears are your own. Really like the volume and mic control on the wire. They're also very comfortable to wear for long periods, the memory foam is awesome.

My sister's helix (top) part of the ear is sensitive during long playtime. The headset is lightweight and the cups are very plush. The material used for the ear part was very smooth, almost silk-like, that it didnt irritate her skin. She was able to use it in a 4+ hour game session without any discomfort. The audio itself was loud enough for her. For PC and XboxOne, the mic quality was clear. [Please note, a 3.5mm audio adapter will be needed if the Xbox controller is old as this is not included in the package.] The receiving end did not hear the fan that was blowing near her, and her vocals were clear to them (including her munching on some grapes). This was a bit more than expected for the price I bought it for. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with sensitive ears.
