I actually watched this movie years ago when it first came out for rental, but then I suddenly couldn't buy it at Best Buy! After a long wait, it showed up in their $7.99 bin, so I absolutely HAD to get it. It's a cute little movie and I can't wait to watch it again.

Love the cast ! Parker, Greg Kinnear, Pierce Bronson, and it was great to see Kelsey Grammer. And of course Sarah Jessica Parker fans will love to see how she juggles her life. (maybe like her real life!)

An excellent cast in an amusing plot about a stressed double income family, with a romantic twist.

This movie is about a working mom who’s life is crazy, but loves her kids and her husband. She tries to make everything work and run smoothly, but one can only do life at 100 MPH for so long before hitting a wall. Best Elements: Kate cares about her kids. Her work is stressful and the duties outside of work are also taxing; however, in the midst of it all, she treats her kids with kindness and love. Even when work expectations are upon her, she does all she can to be actively involved in their lives and give them a fun childhood. She loves her husband. Kate’s husband works a busy job as well. She never once asks him to be a stay-at-home dad. She understands that he loves his work just like she loves hers. Outside of working hours, she sets aside time to connect with her husband assuming she doesn't fall into an exhausted slumber the moment she sits on the couch. She’s committed to her family. She makes effort to have dedicated family time even when work creeps into her personal life at times. The film puts forth a value for kids. During the movie there are moments where the topic of kids are brought up and never do you hear Kate complain. On the contrary, she’s the greatest cheerleader to anyone who’s considering motherhood even in the crazy busy workplace. Entertainment Value: “I Don’t Know How She Does It” is a fun film for any family with kids and especially for those where the mom works outside the home. It’s a film for the mom who tries her hardest but still feels she doesn't have it all together. The film has a fairly steady pace to it with no real super exciting nor super boring moments. It’s an easy-going film that has it’s assortment of laughs and smiles. It’s a movie about the busyness of life and making sure we keep our priorities straight in the midst of the craziness. I particularly enjoy how the film occasionally uses a filming style similar to “The Office”; there are short scenes of individuals speaking to the camera about their thoughts about her or their comments on life situations they find themselves in (which gives you more insight into their character). Final Verdict: I Don’t Know How She Does It is worth renting or buying if you find it at a decent price especially if you’re a mom or are married with kids. You’ll watch some things you can relate with or moments that you hope to never encounter. It’s definitely a sweet film with a good message.
