Bought this unit for my 2013 F250 XLT. I was encouraged by the installer who had the same setup on his 2012 F250. He set mine up similar to his. It works as advertised. My favorite part is the distance from where I can start the truck. I can be nearly 1200’ away from the truck and start it as long as I’m mostly in clear line of sight. Makes it super nice in the winter when I’m hunting. I can have the truck warm by the time I hike back. Only one dumb thing happened, which is why I gave 4 stars. The battery on the truck is constantly draining. If I leave it parked without starting for longer than a week, it’s slow to crank. I did swap batteries to a new Red Top AGM, which helped a little. Whatever you do, don’t let the battery drain completely or you’ll have to re-learn the remotes or even worse, have GS reprogram the controller. Both have happened to me. I’d still buy it again, even with the battery drain. It’s been a good feature since adding it.

This is the first time I have ever had a remote ignition starter system in a car, and I really am enjoying being able to start my car and warm it up before leaving for work in the morning. It works through a couple layers of cinder block wall and at least a 300-foot distance so far. Both the original two key fobs and the two new key fobs work for all functions, with one glitch... the car does not "recognize/see" the new fobs when I am inside the car in order to start it. Therefore, I still have to have the old fob with me inside the car in order to start it, although both the new and old fobs will start the car remotely. I have not returned to Best Buy yet to see if this can be remedied. I have a 2013 Infiniti G37X and installation took over 5 hours. The customer service rep at Best Buy told me that Nissans tend to be a bit more problematic when it comes to installing remote starters but there was another customer waiting who had a completely different make and model vehicle that took about the same amount of time. That being said, just make arrangements to drop your car off and pick it up later, so you don't have to wait at the store if possible. Considering free installation combined with the Deal of the Day price, and a $100 good faith refund from Geek Squad/Best Buy for cancelling my appointment twice, it was an extremely good value. You cannot even get installation for that price elsewhere.

I Love it! So glad I purchased this remote start system for my 2016 Toyota Sienna. Best Buy Geek Squad installed it in less than 2 hours and it has been so simple and convenient. I've been using it for about a month now and I love it. I no longer have to walk into a freezing car. It reaches up to 600 ft and so my car is already ready when Im in my house or in the check out line in the grocery store. One of my favorite features is the automatic turn off. Sometimes I'm distracted and plan on leaving the house but forget my car is running. It'll beep once to remind you that its still on. If you don't put your key in the ignition soon, it'll turn off (runs for about 10 mins before the warning beep.) you can also press the lock or unlock button to buy some time in case you're almost ready to go in the car and want it to stay on after the warning beep. I start my car while I'm in my house to warm it up and while leaving the check out line in the grocery store. Definitely can't see myself without it. Its now a must have!

Double the range of the remote with this iDataStart than the Compustar product for about the same price. Easily upgraded to add the DroneMobile module for mobile phone access. Good 2-way communication and app notifications to let you know for certain that the remote function worked. I have experienced other products where you thought it was working but wasn't. Will even let you know if it timed out so you can restart it again. Good product!!! Best Buy service techs did a great job.

Works great i missed having one this past winter. This one has a better range and the remote is well made. I waited and watched the deal of the day and got it at a great price. Installation inclided with the harness. I am stoked!

Bought this iDataStart - HC3.5 2-Way LED Remote Start System and the Compustar - 2-Way Remote Start System (CS4905S-KIT). Have had these for a year now and both provide QoL improvements during winter. Some things to note: The iDataStart remote has more of a solid, premium feel to it compared to Compustar BUT the iDataStart buttons require a much stiffer press/hold. iDataStart's response time is also a bit slower than the Compustar (Compustar's response is almost instant). iDataStart has a max range of 6000 ft and Compustar is 3000 ft but have only tried from two blocks away (from inside business building). Both work fine. Haven't had any problems with either so far. Overall, would buy any of these two again in a heartbeat.

This is our second car and set of iDataStart HC3.5 starter installs. Winter or Summer, it is great to start your car from a distance and enter your car in comfort. I was able to start my car from my airport gate as I got off the plane and my car was cool and ready for my drive home. It was in a concrete parking garage adjacent to the airport, which surprised me when it worked given all the traffic on the airwaves and rebar in the concrete.

Used in my audi s3. Geek squad installed it for me at a killer price. Everything works as it should. The range is pretty far. I like that it stores settings such as leaving the ac on then turning off the car. when i remote start it, stays on the last setting. purchased on sale that came with installation. should have gotten it sooner!

This is amazing. I love it, especially on the cold winter days. Couldn't ever go back to the old ways. I can start the car parked in the parking garage over 200 yards away from my nurses desk.

Awesome remote start! Can start from long distances, and as many times as I want. My new vehicle can only start twice before having to be started in the vehicle. Great system, great price, great installation!

We had this installed on my hubby’s Jeep and he loves it. He is able to start his car and warm it up before getting into it. It has been and will be a big help to him in the future since he can no longer put the car in the garage. Best Buy installers were very nice, helpful and knowledgeable about the installation of the remote. Thanks for the great help.

This unit was installed in my 2019 QX50 for nearly one month now. Im honestly mutual about it coming from viper with a screen on the device. I have yet to try the true distance but have used it a fair distance away. The thing I was most frustrated about was losing my (KARR) tracking security when this was installed by bestbuy. I told the installer I did not want to lose it and would rather pass then lose the stock security feature over the phone when he called to inform me however, when I arrived he tells me (oh I’m just finishing up the programming). Other than that the quality os solid and the device does what it’s intended to do.

Could not be happier with the new remote start capability in our 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander. The range and function of these key fobs are awesome! My two other cars have the 3000 ft range fobs but this kit is unbelievable. The worst part of this kit was waiting with anticipation for our scheduled install date. Geek Squad installed it professionally and there is no indication in the car that it was ever disassembled. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Was able to snag one for a good price during one of the sales. Works great, price included the harness and free installation (able to schedule one at a best buy about 15 miles away). Range is great, works from my condo (4th floor). Previously ordered a compustar which got cancelled. Found out that iDataStart is an improved version with higher range (6000ft compared to 3000ft with the compustar). Works only for cars equipped with push button start.

My girlfriend owns a 2021 HRV and surprisingly Honda didn’t put Remote Start in them. That was the most disappointing thing out of that car, but she loves it. Ever since she got it I knew I was going to get her a Remote Start system. I went with this. It is so straightforward, just press and hold the “key” icon, and boom! The car is running!
