Perfect for small spaces yet holds a ton. We use it as additional space for beverages or when we host parties to keep additional food cold.

This refrigerator is great for small areas. It works great, though the cooling settings are a bit touchy and difficult getting them right.

Bought this for my mom, size is great but it gets a lot of ice build up in the refrigeration side. Tried changing temp but it still happens. Maybe it's just a bad frig? We'll see...exchanging it for another one.

The only problem was it was hard to balance the fridge when we first set it up. It would rock from side to side.

I really wasn’t too keen on the idea of purchasing a non-frost free refrigerator like this one – didn’t even know they still made them. Unfortunately however it was the only reasonably priced 10 cu. ft. model that would actually fit into my kitchen. My refrigerator space is only 26 inches wide and 72 inches tall so I needed something that was no more than 24 inches wide. I also needed it to be no more than about 24 inches deep (preferably 22 inches) as my kitchen is very narrow and the countertops are only 20 inches deep. And the only other models that fit the bill besides the Igloo were a $700 LG or a ridiculously overpriced $2500 Bosch. Unfortunately for some reason here in the USA when it comes to refrigerators, tall and thin seems to equal overpriced. I guess that’s just one of the downsides to having a tiny ultra-modern European style kitchen. In any case, this combined with the fact that the Igloo was on sale for $200 at the time made it a no-brainer. Anyway I’ve had it for about 3 months now and I have to say I’m very pleased with this model overall. It looks great in the space and with the thermostat set at 4.5 on the dial it keeps a consistent stable temperature of 37 degrees in the main compartment and about 0 degrees in the freezer. Also on the plus side my unit came with four adjustable shelves and four adjustable door bins, even though both the online photos and description indicate only 3 of each. I’m not sure if they all come like this now or if I just got lucky. Either way, its nice because you really need at least four door bins. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows though. First there is the noise issue. While the compressor itself is ultra quiet there are always these gurgling noises coming from the back of the unit whenever its running. Personally the noises don’t really bother me that much but some people might find them very annoying. The other issue is that, as others have mentioned in their reviews, there is indeed some ice build up at the back of the fresh food compartment. Its actually normal for frost to form back there since the cooling coils are all concentrated in that one small area but its supposed to quickly melt off again while the compressor is off. The problem is that the compressor is never off long enough to allow this to happen. Others have speculated that this is due to leaking door seals, and this would make perfect sense. The problem is my seals seem to be fine. I personally think the main problem is a lack of adequate insulation. Most refrigerators have two inches of insulation in the fresh food compartment but this one only has 1.5 inches. Even my old 7 cu. ft. unit had 2 inches. Obviously if the unit gains heat too fast the compressor will not get much of a break. Anyway, apart from better insulation I’d say the only way to fix the problem would be to recalibrate the thermostat so that it allows an extra degree or two of temperature rise above the set point before turning the compressor back on. Honestly though I haven’t really found the icing up to be an issue. All you have to do is turn the unit off for about thirty minutes or so and the ice will melt away and run down the drain in the back – assuming you have not let it build up too thick that is. I usually do this once every other week or so. As for defrosting the freezer I usually scrape off the loose frost once every 3 to 4 weeks and I defrost once every 3 to 4 months. I do this with a steamer so it only takes about 5 minutes. Its not really much trouble at all once you get used to the routine. However if you are one of those people who lets the ice build up until you are tempted to reach for an ice pick you should probably not consider buying a non frost free refrigerator in the first place. There is actually one more little thing that I do not like about this unit and that is the fact that it does not come with a low profile plug. Because of this you would need to keep it twice the normal required minimum distance from the back wall, and that just wont do in my case. The only solution is to either get a recessed outlet or a short extension cord with a low profile plug, or to change out the power cord altogether. The latter of course would likely void your warranty. As far as I’m concerned, in this day and age there is really no excuse for not having a low profile plug on any refrigerator, or anything else that is meant to be pushed up against the wall where the outlet is. As for all the bad reviews I read on this model they didn’t really worry me too much. After all it seemed like half the reviewers were keeping the thing on a patio or in a garage where it is not supposed to work properly due to the temperature extremes. Also a lot of the problems seemed like they could be attributable to a faulty thermostat and that is something I could easily fix myself. The bottom line is this is pretty darn good little unit and it was definitely well worth the price I paid for it (actually it was a steal). Even at the current price I think it is still the least expensive 10 cu. foot model you can find. And you won’t find any other normal height refrigerators that are under 24-inches deep and 24-inches wide that don’t also cost a small fortune.

No problems whatsoever with this fridge in the last year, It keeps my food cold and fresh. I've unplugged it twice to remove the ice buildup and it cools right back down quickly when power is restored.
