    Full of Tech Sphygmomanometer

I've had a solid month of use before reviewing this product and I am very pleased with my purchase. I was actually surprised that for the first time, Best Buy's price was actually cheaper than Amazon's! This sphygmomanometer fits comfortably around your wrist/forearm area. It has to be positioned about an inch below where the hand and forearm meet to get an accurate reading. The strap is adjustable to fit various forearm sizes and it is securely latched on via velcro straps. The design is very minimalistic, looks like the same material as a white iPod. With a Start/Stop button on top, and a mini usb port at the bottom to be used to recharge the unit. The BP cuff must be fully charged before it is first used. It does come with the mini usb charging cable. When it is plugged in, there is a green square outline that flashes intermittently. Once it stops flashing and you see a solid green square outline, it means that it is fully charged and ready for use. In addition, you must first download the iHealth app (in my case, from the App Store). This cuff cannot be used without a smartphone. Everything is controlled via the application. Once you strap the cuff onto your forearm, it triggers a button underneath the white part of the cuff to link via bluetooth to the phone. During the first reading, it will ask which arm you would normally take your readings. You press the test button and the application makes sure that your arm is in the correct level, as the same plane as your heart. Once you're in the right range, you press the start button. Make sure that the strap in snug and not loose to get an accurate reading. Once the reading is complete, the blood pressure result is clearly indicated with big numbers. The heart rate is also measured. There is a bar to the left side which shows the range of blood pressure readings. It is a color gradient similar to a traffic light: Three hues of green from dark to light, then a golden yellow, orange, and red. The readings are based on WHO (World Health Organization) BP classifications. So it's best to stay in the green hues. There is a space at the bottom to write your own notes about the reading, which is helpful if your readings are higher than normal because you can indicate the reason (like if you're stressed). The sub menus has graphs, trends. You can create a profile, input your weight, set multiple alarms for notification (i.e. like when to take your antihypertensive meds). What's neat is that it keeps a permanent record of your reading via phone and through your account online. The readings can be easily emailed to your physician along with several graphs. The only caveat is that everything is controlled from the smartphone. It can't be used by itself to start a reading. The cuff itself doesn't record any readings. The start/stop button on the cuff is only used to fire up the bluetooth connection to your phone. The cuff is very compact and comes with a carrying case. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and I would recommend this machine to anyone who has a smartphone and needs to keep a record of their blood pressure readings on a regular basis.

    Accurate and Easy to Use!

Compared the readings taken from this device with the readings taken at my doctor's office. They were within 3 to 4 points of each other. I'll chalk the difference up to "nurse's decision making on what her reading was skill". I did this about 5 times until I felt comfortable that it wasn't a fluke that the readings were so close. Trusting a "machine" to record something as important as blood pressure took a bit to accept. The device works with iOS or Android. I have used both platforms and they are equal in performance and features as to the iHealth app. The device itself is easy to get on and off. It never felt like it was going to squeeze my wrist off. The bluetooth feature works very well with minimum fuss to pair. (It auto pairs when you start the iHealth app so you do not have to manually do it each time.) The device is "rechargeable" and keeps a charge for quite a number of readings. I think we have got as many 60 readings before having to charge it back up using the included usb cable. I like how the app tracks your readings over time and lets you see the readings on a plot graph. The app also lets you use multiple devices (from same company) and keeps track of them together for you. This little device is so small that I have given it to our office staff so that we all use it in the office to monitor our blood pressure. (Each of us use a different phone/app so I can say that you can use multiple users with the same device.) Our ages range from 31 to 68 and all of can use the device with no trouble by ourselves. The device comes in a hard plastic case that is easy to open and close and is very compact.

This wrist monitor is quicker and easier to use than an arm cuff. When I began using it, I cross checked its results using a standard BP cuff and verified its accuracy. It connects easily with the free iHealth app and allows you to maintain a history of your readings. I am pleased with this device and recommend it to others.

Simple to use and set-up. This is one smart device. It tells you when your arm is not in the right position when connected with your iPhone. It stores the data right to the ihealth app and the stats are easy to read on the app as well.

Obviously none of the wrist BP monitors are completely accurate. But like with any home BP monitor one should take it to their doctor and have it compared for accuracy and delta, then you can always subtract or add the difference to your reading against their professional equipment, if any. It is fairly consistent when you take 5-10 reading back to back, so that's what you want. This was a gift for an elderly person and they have no problem using it along with the iPad, it's very simple and works every time. It is also great way to determine what caused the BP to go up or down, so taking readings before and after meals, exercise, phone calls etc... So you can then analyse the data and see what activities are raising or lowering the BP.

I wanted to track my BP readings on my phone without needing to manually enter them every time. This fills the bill perfectly. Start the app and it automatically connects via Bluetooth to the cuff. Tap the button on the app and the reading is made. Easy to spot trends and changes.

Convenient Wireless Option to a Standard Cuff

Setup was easy enough, removed unit from the packaging, plugged in the included charge cable and let it simmer for a few hours. Loaded App to iPhone and Sync'd the cuff to the phone..... Later that night we set out to compare the product to our old electronic upper arm cuff unit. I took a baseline reading from the old unit and it was a specific reading in the range I was used to, then we tried the wrist cuff and got readings that were either way high or way low. I was about to toss it back in the box and return it but I looked about on line and found some anecdotal comments on how sensitive it was to position and movement during the read cycle so we set up to try it again in a more controlled manner and this time with a recent doctor visit reading on hand which was supplemented with similar readings from my old unit. This time the unit came in on the money 4 out of 5 times on both wrists as far as matching the older unit. I don't recommend having to take readings several times each time but everyone will during the period where we need to build confidence in the device accuracy, but once that confidence is established we opt for two readings each time, one sitting and one standing which is the normal regimen our HMO team uses. This was a satisfying purchase when we finally dialed in the process. Next I want to link it in to the MyFitnessPal App so that my health stats can all be kept in one place along with my FitBit Force WristBand, Workout heart rate monitor and linked in scale.

A simple test to help regulate my blood pressure. Have not had a chance to compare my results to other, calibrated monitors, but believe it is fairly accurate given my blood pressure history.

This device is a convenient way to measure your blood pressure. It's small and easy to use. Unfortunately, the blood pressure measurements are not accurate. I gave this unit a week's worth of testing, comparing the results with two other blood pressure measuring devices (another home testing unit from a different company and the blood pressure machine at a local drugstore). After repeated comparisons taken at different times during the day, this unit consistently gave the highest readings of both systolic and diastolic pressure. And I made sure that my wrist was positioned correctly for each measurement. I had read elsewhere that wrist units in general are more inclined to indicate higher blood pressure than arm units. My experience with this unit confirms this; sometimes the wrist unit indicated BP more than 20 points higher than with the arm cuff. After a week, I returned this product and exchanged it for the iHealth wireless arm cuff (the BP 5 unit, SKU 6364688). So far, the readings on that unit are much more consistent with readings from my older arm cuff and the machine at the drugstore.
