While not as depressing as The Grave of Fireflies, it is interesting to see the depiction how people deal with loss due to violence of war. Something that some people in some part of the world are dealing in this very moment. There's a revisionist tint how Japan views itself, but still is worth the watch.

Simple to buy and easy to find on the Best Buy online store. I was grateful Best Buy mentioned that the film has Japanese language available. Watching this film in its original language is essential to me. Purchase was easy, shipping and tracking were fast and simple, and the item arrive in good condition. The film included original Japanese audio as well as both descriptive subtitles for the deaf and subtitles for English speakers using the original Japanese audio. Film is an essential for anyone interested in art, Japan, or WWII. Characters are believable and excellent, and plot is complex and tasteful. Great for getting insight into the life of an ordinary girl growing up in Japan around the time of WWII.

When I got this Black Friday shopping I knew nothing about it. I looked up reviews and they seemed to be pretty good. Watched it and didn’t really like it. I was very disappointed. The story wasn’t that good. There’s a middle section of the movie that had some good interesting things but then it was boring again. It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t good.
