Solid case with minimal wear after 1 full year. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that the clips can scratch your wrist on certain angles, and if they were smoother or rounded it would be a little more comfortable

Writing this review 2 years after purchasing. I have really put this case though it and I think it it wroth the price. I do have cracks on 3 different corners but for the price I kinda expect it. I would buy again.

I will preface this by admitting I'm the kind of MacBook user who sees cases as a necessity. I understand the viewpoints against slapping any case on a laptop of this class, especially considering Apple's design and the fact that this machine, in true Apple fashion is very well built. However, I still like the little extra reassurance I have from a case being there in the event something significant occurs. I have had my MacBook Pro 14" for nearly a year and a half now, and I have had two other cases in that time. Previously, I was rocking the Supcase UB series, which was marketed as a more rugged option with rubber and silicone edge pieces. However, it ended up being a little too much and made this already thicker (compared to the last gen MacBook pro line) and more dense than it was without the case. Another issue was the case's use of clear acrylic which scratched easily and put smudges and fingerprints on full display. The Incase Hardshell Dot Case solves both of these and despite being much thinner and less "rugged" looking, is still more than plenty protective. The fit is excellent, it was a breeze to install, and it's both the best looking and feeling case I have used on any MacBook, and I personally have owned 4 different models. While the $55 price tag honestly seems a little steep, especially compared to the Supcase which is priced at a little under $30, I do believe I have gotten the value out of this case, and I would honestly recommend to others that it is worth paying the extra here.

Incase is one of the best quality case shells, compared to the many different ones online. Spend the extra dough, and buy quality to protect your Apple investment.
