This movie is so much better in 4K versus Blu-ray!

While it may have been the role of Hans Solo in `Star Wars' that planted the name of Harrison Ford within the collective consciousness of the American (and world for that matter) public, it was his portrayal of the adventurous Indiana Jones in the '81 blockbuster `Raiders of the Lost Ark' that made him the iconic film legend he is today. The first of three epic adventures, `Raiders of the Lost Ark' is in my estimation the best of the series so far (a fourth is now in production so who knows). If this is your genre of entertainment you have found your pot-of-gold. Amazing special effects, superb cast, an unforgettable soundtrack and a script and storyline overflowing with clever, quotable dialogue and heavy supernatural undertones that are absolutely mesmerizing. Simply the "Best of the Best!

I don't have fond memories of Indiana Jones from my childhood. I watched the films, liked them, but for me, Star Wars and Jurassic Park were what ruled the roost. With a couple of decades and a fresh perspective, I found a new enjoyment for the series. I've also realized just how integral Harrison Ford was to the best era for film (Late seventies to late eighties, Star Wars, Blade Runner, Indiana Jones...) I've now gotten to the point where I watch the Indi trilogy a few times a year and find myself enthralled by just how great the journey is. Ford's cocky attitude perfectly makes Indiana Jones a character you have to cheer for. The Raider's blu-ray is fantastic, and although it doesn't have all of the supplemental material that the set has, it is still worth every penny.

Great action movie. The mythical biblical content captures curiosity.

This is my second favorite indiana Jones movies in the series. The First tthe raiders of the Lost Ark. II like these two movis because ljust like the the National Treasure movies, they center around historical and mythoogical objects tied to our own histories. In this case my relious history. The movie has great special effecta and prodution, a great treasure hunt of going from one riddle to another to lead to the "spot marked X" The final scense re emotion and warm and respectful to a our relious history. The sound track scores are moving and appropriate.

I'll admit. I never saw this movie in theaters. But I remember the experience. Unlike a lot of other restorations, this doesn't try to make it look like it was shot on a digital 4K camera. There are no ultra-saturated, hyper-realistic colors here. Yes, they clean up the grain, but the color timing still looks true to 1980's film stock. It sounds great - as anything with John Williams' music does. Overall, I'm impressed and any time I put in the Blu-Ray I get a certain nostalgia for projected film (until I remember the grain, scratches and flicker).

Seriously, if you STILL haven't seen this classic, you're doing yourself a disservice. This film is adventure, romance, and action all in one bag. I still find myself lost in the film so many years later. And the Blu-ray does wonders. The HD upgrade is incredible here. It appears as if it was shot just a couple years ago. This is a must have for any Indy or adventure fan out there. The incredible effects and wonderful HD make this a film that truly stands the test of time. You can't go wrong here even if you already own this on DVD.

What can one say about "Raiders of the Lost Ark" that hasn't been written about before? Nothing really. I just happen to think it's one of the great action/adventure films of all-time. It's Saturday at the movies in it's purest form. Great characters..(Harrison Ford's best role by far)..great filming work, directing and story. It still holds up and is a timeless adventure. On Blu-Ray the great production is even more vivid as is the sound. This is a must own movie for any real collector.

Steven Spielberg, Harrison Ford and George Lucas! It doesn't get any better than this. A throwback to the Hollywood Serials of the 1930's 40's and 50's when every local small town theater offered up the latest Saturday afternoon serial featuring the undaunted hero left in a life threatening perilous ending. How many times can Indie escape? No need to come back next week. It's all right here. This film is a great addition to any collection.

First things first. Great picture and sound for this "older" movie. Worth the blu-ray version. Picture is clear and colors look great. Now to the fun part. This is a great movie. Clear heroes and villains. Fantastic action. And the acting is perfectly done. Harrison Ford is one of the greatest actors of our time for his ability to take Indiana Jones and make him a believable character. He is always fun to watch on screen. If you haven't seen this movie in awhile, check it out.

We have had seen this when it came out in the theaters, then bought in video VHS which was poor quality. Then we bought it when it came out in the DVD form which was still soft. Finally they have brought it out in a format that was the way it was meant to bee seen. We have a projector and a 120" screen and the image will blow you away. If you do not own it in blu-ray you need to experience it in a whole new experience. All the discs will be give you a renew version of the great series that test the times.

Raiders of the Lost Ark is a classic movie that I've been wanting to get for a long time. I was able to pick it up for a great price. The Blu-Ray quality is great. The only thing lacking is special features; the only features are a few different trailers. Still, it was well worth the purchase.

The first Indiana Jones movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark, is still as exciting as the first time I viewed it more than 35 years ago. As an updated adventure serial, with its roots in the early Flash Gordon movie shorts, it is smart, witty and just plain fun. I highly recommend it to everyone. Kids love it. And it’s capable of making adults kids again for at least a couple of hours.

This classic film is only available for rent or purchase on the various platforms. It was a bargain at this price and a joy to watch again! Now that it is part of my library of DVDs I will not have tp pay for a rental through a streaming service.

I remember seeing a commercial for this movie as a small child, and because of seeing a guy wearing a hat riding a horse, thinking it was a cowboy movie; as a Star Wars kid, I didn't want anything to do with a cowboy movie. But I have never been more wrong about a movie in my life, and the adventures of Indiana Jones now rank right up there with those from a galaxy far, far away.

Indiana Jones movies--are always spectacular on big screen. This is a classic that everyone should have as part of their collection. Raiders of the Lost Ark isn't the movie I wanted--I wanted Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade--as it's my favorite of the Indiana Jones series. But Best Buy didn't have it. Unless I wanted to buy the whole series. I decided against that.

What can you say about the movie that started it off, this is a classic in the Indiana Jones saga. Harrison Ford is great with a great supporting cast. The story line moves at a good pace with just enough action mixed in the comedy and drama. I love that the movie setting changes from country to country as he hunts down his treasure. This is a excellent movie.
