This is the second time I have bought this exact chair. Both times it just starts to fall apart. The wheels are on five spokes at the base, all of which are starting to bend AND BREAK. Metal breaking from itself. It was comfortable but now it sag in a specific direction and will tip over if I'm not careful.

Wears Away Over a Short Period of Time.

I bought this because it was cheap with the discount, but I really should have spent the small amount of extra money to get something with better lasting power. Sure, it was easy to put together and it was comfortable for a couple of months, but the pads wear down fast. I'm sitting here less than a year after purchase and the arm pads are completely flat and the seat and back are very uncomfortable because I can feel the plastic/metal through them. Definitely getting rid of this soon. Office chairs are supposed to last for more than a year! Oh, and it makes a very annoying and loud cracking noise when you lean back.

    comfortable ...until it breaks

As my first "official" office chair I was pleased with the appearance, ease of assembly and comfort of this chair....at least for the few months before it just broke apart. I suppose its not designed for long hours of use (reflected by its low price) but I really wasnt expecting it to break apart at the arms after less than a year of use. Granted, I spent 12-18 hours a day in the chair working on cgi animation but I weigh less than 200 pounds and its not like I was doing any gymnastics in the chair...just sitting. Its the armrest sections that snapped apart in two seperate locations. The plastic must be really low grade. Since its these sections that hold the back of the chair on, such a structural failure leaves the chair unuseable as anything other than a leather stool. Judging by my own experience and the other reviews here, this chair should only be purchased if you're looking for an attractive, comfortable leather chair for LIGHT use. It WILL fall apart pretty easily.

i purchased this chair last year and the back just now broke off of it, the arms are injection molded with little metal rings inside for the bolts to go through this is where a lot of weight is put when leaning back in the chair, within 6 months the front mounts started to crack and now the back ones have so now i have a backless chair. i read one guy had it for 4 years before it broke so maybe i just had a bit of bad luck. i just know that i am going to be buying a chair with metal supports next time.

    Good Chair

The leather on my chair, like many other reviewers experienced, did tear after only having it for a little while. But that was easily solved with a little duct tape:) Ive had it for almost 2 years now i do believe, and ive just had my first major problem with it, one of the legs did snap, but it was my own stupid fault, not really that of the chair. I personally think its a great chair, especially for the price.

    ok for the money

This is not a very good chair, but it is ok for the money: I purchased this on sale for $50. If you have a kid in the house you will not want to have expensive leather chairs for your office, if you know what I mean. With that in mind, indeed the leather (or whatever material it is) immediately scratches, the tilt is locking all the time, and hours in this chair will hurt your body. For couple years and not extensive office activity this chair is satisfactory.

Great chair for the office. It's leather!! It has the pneumatic height adjustment. It also swivels and tilts and I like how you can lock the tilt so the kids don't use it as a theme park ride. It's durable and comfortable and the price is great. I would recommend this chair to anyone looking for a good chair at a low price.

    Is there a weight limit?

The chair was cheap so I didn't really worry about wether the leather was of top quality. Assembly was a breeze. But, as soon as I sat in the chair I could feel the arms flexing. (The arm assembly is what holds the back of the chair to the seat). Especially when I leaned back in it. I weigh 220 lbs. and around 6'2" so I'm not exactly a huge guy but the chair seemed to think so. The arm assembly on both sides of the chair snapped and I nearly got suplexed. I would've selected yes to recommend to a friend but almost all my friends are heavier than me. Other than that I enjoyed the chair until it broke 4 months after buying it.

    looked great, didn't last

I have had this chair since September 2007 (about 10 months) and it was a great chair. But, like another reviewer, mine broke at the same points in the arms. And, like he mentioned, without the arms to connect the back to the base, the chair is basically useless. I disagree with his statement about it being a "cheap" chair. To me, paying $80 for a few pieces of aluminum, some cushion and leather is A LOT of money. Especially when the product breaks in less than a years time.

I bought the chair back in the spring of 2008 and earlier this week the arm rest broke at the front bolt hole. I've tried calling and leaveing messages with init for getting replacement arm rest. No response. I'm disapointed with chair.

    Terror Chair

I've had this chair for a while, about two years. It was to replace my old chair. I keep it only because I can't afford to buy another chair. The leather on the seat has torn, so I have padding visible on a third of the chair. The arm broke where the screw is located on the back clear through, my dad fixed it though by reinforcing it with a strip of metal. But the biggest problem is the oil leaking out of the bottom, I have to keep a plastic bag tied to the bottom to keep from staining the floor and my clothes. It does its job, but I wouldn't recommend this chair to anyone.

    HORRIBLE chair

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this chair probably about a year ago. When I got it, it was pretty easy to assemble, compared to most office furniture (took about an hour). I use the chair everyday, for a few hours each day. Today, I just laid back in the chair--a very common thing for me to do when I need to think--and immediately, I heard a loud crack and I felt myself fall a little. I checked under the chair for signs of a crack while still sitting in the chair, when I looked down to see the arm rest broken where the seat portion is bolted on. The chair cost me $50 and I don't have money to buy a new one at the moment. I will NOT buy this chair ever again, nor will I recommend the chair to anyone. P.S. the included image was taken with my cell phone, so it might be poor quality.

Less than 3 months, wheels break when they won't roll and the arms are bending and plastic is broken already. I knew it was less expensive than others but thought for this price I would get longer than 3 months from it.

You get what you pay for. And so far i'm enjoying it. It was easy and quick to put together. The tilting is my favorite part. Having wheels to move around is a must. If you don't have much to spend on a chair but don't want to look cheap. This chair is perfect. I'm sitting in it right now as I type this. lol.

Ive had the chair for over a year now and just recently the right arm rest and the back of the chair snapped off. It wasnt due to physical abuse, just from constantly reclining for a bit past one year. While in use it looked awesome and was decently comfortable. Not bad for the price

My husband and I think this chair is very comfortable and are able to relax in the chair while working on the compute. The leather feels great and is nice and smooth. Ours is kind of hard to get to come back up, but it just might be ours and is no big deal. I do recommend this chair.

When I purchased this chair I was under the impression that it would actually act as a chair. Right now I write this review from a swiveling stool because the back of this chair broke off. When did I purchase this chair? A month ago. I heard a loud crack 2 weeks ago and then more cracks and eventually the chair completely broke. I would recommend this to no one, unless I disliked the person I was giving the recommendation to.

Great chair, it was a lot more comfortable than I thought it would be and mine lasted for over 4 years of constant use before it broke. It was simple to assemble and it leaned back pretty far if you wanted it to so it was comfortable to relax in as well. people are saying its bad because it cant handle rough use, and it cant, but seriously, its a office chair, not a UFC fighter. its fantastic for its price, now that mine broke im going right back out to buy another, and I would reccomend this chair to anyone

    Not worth the money...

I read the only other review and thought "Why not?". Well, now I know why not... 'cause it's CHEAP! The only thing holding the back and the seat together are the armrests, the chair sits too high off the floor even adjusted to it's lowest level (I am only 5'10" and weigh about 160lbs and I can BARELY fit my legs under the desks keyboard tray - don't plan on using this for a computer chair...). It's also kinda smallish- sitting centered in the chair I have to squeeze a bit to fit my arms within the arms instead of on them. It's making me feel slightly claustrophobic. The stupid lever that controls the seat height also controls the tilt (most usually do) however, this one keeps slipping into lock mode so that 80% of the time that I try to lean back it is locked and I have to unlock it... again... And lastly... the "leather". I have my doubts about that. Whatever animal this "leather" came from was a seriously dry animal... like a huge desert lizard with skin like Methuselah . It's dry, coarse and already starting to peel in some small places. I will try to return this chair, but if I can't I'll just have to be grateful that it only cost me $70 to figure out how gullible I am....
