I got these for $12 from BB. Easy to install and use. The sound quality is good on the speakers, but lacks bass without the sub-woofer even if Bass knob is at end. Sub-woofer adds the punch needed for rock/metal, but it takes up too much space on my computer desk and causes vibrations unless placed on styrofoam; it is not needed for Youtube or casual web use. So, if you are into HD or 5.1 stereo, these are not for you. If you want 2.1 for cheap go for it.

The sound quality on these speakers is incredible. I've actually had problems with ambient sounds in games where I searched my apartment trying to find a noisy frog that was, in fact, in the game. I held on to my old pc speakers for probably fifteen years even though they were falling apart, because their audio quality was unparalleled by anything I'd found. I was upset when I got these for my birthday, assuming they'd be just the same, but in fact they're perfect. They're as loud and clear as I could ever want them, with adjustable bass and treble.

Wanted something with more base but great sound quality. Well this product didn't cut it. Not worth the price!!!

This system is so much better than the speakers that came with my computer. The bass is reasonably deep and the satellites sounds crisp. I also like the volume and bass adjust on the speaker. You cannot do better for less than $30. As to folks complaining that they do not meet their expectations I say "Spend more."

The price! So cheap for PC speakers that are powered through an outlet and not my computer. This results in much louder sound. It comes with a small sub so you actually hear the bass, unlike the PC package speakers. I do get a buzzing sound if I put the speakers too close to my lamp (Which is the lamps fault anyway) Thinking of buying another as a Christmas gift! Quality: I can play some bassy songs and get no crackling ever! I dont know what that other reviewer was talking about. I was surprised, loud songs on full blast won't blow these things! Overall a great buy, Insignia makes great products for price. Obviously not as good as Bose but look at what you paid!

Actually got this set of speakers/roofer for $19.98 instead of $39.98 because they were mispriced on the label. Great buy. Easy to hook up. 1st set had a loose connection in the wires to one of the speakers and then it wouldn't turn on at all. Took them back after 3 wks and swapped them for another set. So far this one is working fine.

I bought this speaker for $14.99 + tax for my TV. Sound quality is very clear with decent amount of bass. I couldn't find a better speaker system with bass control for this amount of money! Yeah, its only 8 watts but you should consider the price too. I would definitely recommend this speaker. For $15 its an amazing speaker. PROS: Great clear sound, decent bass, very good build quality & design. CONS: Zero!

I was one of the ones who got a set of these for $12.99 and so this review is in light of that price. I bought these for the sole purpose of using them in my cubical at work. The speakers are small and look well enough on either side of flat panel monitor. The little sub box is under my desk but on top of my PC tower. The sub does not thump but does warm the sound for a nice balanced sound at moderate levels. I come in after hours to work sometimes and have turned these up fairly loud with acceptable sound quality. They will distort if pushed with bass heavy track but keep in mind the total system power we're dealing with here folks. Pros: Good sound at low to moderate volumes, small footprint, Price if you can snag a pair on sale. Cons: Speaker wire not very long, left and right can't reach either side of my average size cubical desk. Price if you pay MSR. Realistic expectations are key when purchasing these, especially in light of their modest RMS power rating!

I originally went to BB to buy the Logitech 313's... they have great reviews online.... I found them very bassy and lacking range. I returned them and got these Insignias and so far I like them... they are balanced.... they have a nice bass and nice stereo sound with good range. And they were $10 cheaper then the 313. They have a headphone jack and volume and bass volume control. Nice product.

Easy to set up. Am pleased with the sound. The sale price is great! Adjusting the bass is a plus. They fit my needs perfectly

Previewing this little speaker set in a store doesn't do them justice. It wan't until I corner loaded the little sub on the floor under my desk that the system sounded more balanced. It's great having a sub control on the right satellite -- comparable Logitechs don't even have that feature. The headphone jack is conveniently located and the alternate AUX IN (in the back of the right satellite) is nice to have, although it cuts out the signal coming to the main input cable. It would be nice to have that AUX switched for a couple more dollars, but at least there is something. This system isn't going to blow your ears off, but it certainly puts out enough volume to bring life to your desktop. I bought it using a couple of coupons, which made them a great deal at under $20, but at full price, I would have shopped around more.

I needed a speaker set that was small enough to fit on a portable cart, but with the power to fill the sanctuary of my church with clear, crisp sound. This product not only met those needs, but came with an almost unbelievably low price tag. They work well with my laptop allowing me to add music and video files more effectively.

I had old speakers that I hadn't replace in sometime and I recently bought a new computer with Windows 7. The sound was very low and I found out that I needed powered speakers. I decided to purchase these after reading some of the reviews and I can't be more happier with my purchase. The speakers are great size and the subwoofer while not offering deep deep base is adequate enough for me. The price was also great because I got them on sale for $24.99. I highly recommend these.

At $15, this speaker set was a fantastic buy for the quality. The speakers aren't spectacular and the bass is inferior to that of a more advanced set of speakers, but the volume of these can get quite loud without drop in quality and the quality is phenomenal for the price. Perfect speaker solution for a college kid such as I!
