Customers enjoy the sound quality, ease of use, and relatively small size of this 2.1 speaker system. Many also appreciate the affordable price and convenient headphone jack. Some users found the bass to be lacking, and a few experienced issues with the volume control. Overall, the system is praised for its ease of setup and good sound for its size.

Desktop sterio speakers

Limited bass
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While an improvement over laptop speakers, I'm disappointed with the subwoofer. I didn''t expect to shake the walls (or want to), but you need to turn bass control way up to get anything noticeable. There's a significant pop when you turn them on but they do have that bright blue night-light so you can find them in the dark. Overall, OK for kids but not for music & definitely not at full price!

Not worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quick summary: Not worth $40 because subwoofer is insufficient and barely noticeable If your looking for good sound, shell out a few more $ or buy regular 2.0 speakers. These speakers barely counts as an upgrade. A 3" subwoofer isn't really a subwoofer, even if you put it in a box. There is a nob to adjust the bass but it ranges from none to quiet. These may be good if you listen to them in a closet, but in a 10x10 room like me, they don't cut it. They are definitely not worth the $40 that Best Buy is selling them for. Get a subwoofer thats bigger and youll be much more satisfied with the quality.

Fine for a while...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you use them often, you'll eventually find them not working at all when turning on your computer. Unplugging them from your computer and power supply, then plugging them back in while your computer is off seems to work for some reason. Other than that, great deal.

Low Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased to give these a try but the AC power cord plug in area on the back was not secure enough. It broke immediately when trying to plug in the power cord. Cheaply made product. Spend a little more and get a better quality product. I returned instead of exchanged because this was likely an indicator of the quality and ability for it to last a while.

Crackling sounds from subwoofer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought these on March 29. 2013 for my wife's laptop. Two weeks later, she went on an extended trip for family reasons and business, taking her computer, leaving the speakers at home. The speakers sat idle for more than a month, unused. When we hooked them up again, we could hear a crackling sound from the system. I think it's likely a loose connection in the subwoofer wiring. I'm going to take them back and see what, if anything, BestBuy is willing to do about it. Based on the price, I figure I got what I paid for, for a "house-brand-exclusive" product, but I would at least expect them to work OK without sounding like this. Based on what others have said about the store's customer service, I'm not all that optimistic. Will report further after I've spoken with the store's customer service people.

I must have bought a dud.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't believe the other 4 and 5 star reviews. The sound quality is below "poor". The so-called woofer is paper thin and barely audible, except when it is distorting. I have a 20 year old cheap clock radio with better sound, but alas, no audio inputs. There is a fine line between "whisper quiet" and "awfully distorted", and that zone is when the dial is between 50 and 60 percent up. The only reason it didn't go in the trash immediately was because I use it at work, and primarily keep the volume low, so my employees don't complain about explicit lyrics in the workplace. Shame on me for buying something so cheap, I guess. Maybe, just maybe this unit is a dud. As mentioned, the paper cone on the woofer is like office paper, so I doubt it.

Ok if you can get them on sale
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only reason I gave this three stars is because I got it for $12.99. It definitely isn't worth the regular price of $39.99. The volume is quite good for computer speakers but the sound quality isn't great-- very tinny. It will suffice for average computer usage but music quality varies. The bass is decent but it could use a treble adjustment.

nothin special
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.these speakers are good speakers just not great speakers the sound is really low on them and it doesnt look like they will take too much more power without blowing the speakers you have to turn them on most of the time all the way up just to hear things clearly on the computer

Not worth the price (even on sale)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these speakers for my wife to use at work, but she decided not to hook them up there, so we used them in the kitchen instead. I hooked up the speakers to a phone to play mp3 files, and it was very easy, as the speakers come with a 3.5mm plug, so no extra connectors were needed. .everything was good, until we started actually playing music. Even on the loudest setting, the sound quality was OK at best, and for songs that weren't perfectly modulated (like older tracks), the sound was outright poor. These speakers are good for basic computing at best. Any type of actual music playing should be avoided.

Alright for a desktop used on a desktop but,
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Speakers are just TOO small. If it wasn't for the little sub the sound produced would be even more lacking, almost like from a laptop. Spend a little more and get a lot more to listen too. Do not buy unless on a tight budget.

You get what you pay for.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Speakers work ok. They have a low price and perform as expected. If you want something premium these aren't the ones. Good for a small office or just casual listening.

Don't Buy @ 39.99
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would have been super upset if I bought these at 39.99. Even at 12.99 I thought I might get lucky but no they are indeed 12.99 speakers. I have a set of 19.99 Coby speakers and another set Labtec speakers that I think were 49.99 maybe less when on sale and each of those are better sounding. Anything above medium volume causes these to distort. They are not completely useless though as they sound decent at normal listening volume.
