I keep my apple keyboard with arms reach for Touch ID. The keypad does the job with small amount of latency using Bluetooth.

Smooth, reliable, super convenient

It connects instantly through Bluetooth and the scissor-switch keys feel smooth and comfortable to type on. It’s lightweight but still feels sturdy on my desk. As a teacher, I like the keypad, which allows me to enter grades quickly and accurately. The instructions made connecting and using the number pad super easy. Excellent Bluetooth external 10 Keypad

I was leery of buying a bluetooth stand alone key pad. I didn't think a stand alone unit would be stable enough to withstand serious volume data entry for my spreadsheet needs. BUT THIS UNIT DID. Its not heavy but it is stable enough for my needs. It paired w/o me even reading the instructions. I'm pretty sure it has standby power/sleep. One AAA battery. I'm very happy with my purchase.
