The lowest setting I can set the fridge to is 35F. With this setting I was consistently getting temperatures between 39 and 42F. My old fridge always stayed around 35-36 degrees measured with the same thermometer. The FDA recommended safe zone is 40F and under. I had the fridge replaced thinking it was defective since it couldn't reliably keep the temperature in the safe zone and the temperature in the fridge did not match the setting. The second fridge operated the same way, holding the temperature around 5 degrees higher than the temperature it was set to. A repair man came out and said there is no way to re-calibrate the fridge. This appears to be a design flaw that cannot be fixed. Or maybe I just a bad batch of fridges that aren't calibrated properly. If you buy this fridge, test it out before the return period expires. If you get one that gets to and holds the correct temperature, then you will have a nice fridge at a good price that looks great. I was not that lucky. I would have been more than happy with this fridge if the temperature controls had worked correctly.
