This machine is a beast. It works better than advertised. It takes up very little counter space and produces large amounts of ice quietly and quickly. It will really come in handy this summer when we’re trying to entertain. I would highly recommend this product.

Take a step in the right direction for easy solution to going to get ice at convenience stores, your broken ice maker, or potential flooding problems from leaking ice maker, or replacing those expensive water filters for your fridge!! Bought the insignia ice maker and have not been happier in a long time with how an appliance solved the problem. Stop your troubles concerning ice at your house, patio, and around the house or apartment.

This is a Great ice machine. It has three sizes you can choose from it works very well. Only small issue I have is it takes a while to drop ice, 7 minutes seems long but it’s not that long. I am an ice eater, so it’s long to me. I wish the ice was a little softer, plus the ice when left in machine recycles itself, so you don’t waste water. I’m happy with my purchase.

If your ice maker is broken or you keep running out of ice, this machine can help. I put it in my mudroom just a few steps from my kitchen. It is easy to refill, drain and clean the water reservoir. I hold a towel under the basket as I dump the ice into my (broken) ice maker storage so it can be dispensed through the door ice dispenser. Lights on the front indicate when the basket is full of ice and when it needs more water. We have retired our ice cubes.

I wish I would not have waited as long as I did to buy one of these. Its so convenient and easy. It makes more than we can use so we bag it and keep in the freezer for the cooler. I placed it on top of the beverage cooler for added convenience.

- Ordered online, fast free shipping and even found a promo code online for a discount.
- Added the Geek Squad Protection Plan for 2 years and $15. I've spent way too much time ready reviews for this type of ice machine there are an endless number of reviews saying their units worked for a few months up to a year before it started having problems.
- Was a little nervous to buy this since there weren't any reviews yet, but the smaller ice maker made by Insignia had such great reviews I'm hoping that this one is just the same.
- User manual says to wait only 1 hour before plugging in on a level surface to allow the refrigerant fluid to settle. I'm glad I looked because you normally are told 24hrs. with a refrigerator.
- Comes very well packed in the box. After removing the Styrofoam, the machine is covered in a plastic bag. After removing that, there is a thin blue film that is on the stainless steel parts but comes off very easy.
- You need a three prong outlet. The plug is at a 90° angle, so the plug doesn't stick out as far from the wall but the cord does cover the bottom outlet is using the top one.
- When first opening the lid, there is a strong plastic smell. There were 3 pieces of tape that need to be removed, 2 holding the ice tray and shovel, and one holding the ice scoop/flap closed.
- Manual says not to use vinegar on the internal parts, so I am trying dish detergent and hope that works. I'd recommend doing the first few steps next to your sink since you need to rinse and clean the inside and also need a place to drain the soapy water.
- There are two max fill lines inside the reservoir so it makes it easier to see and I could also double check that my counter was level when it is filled with water.
- First time turning it on, reservoir took about 50 seconds to fill and then about 8 minutes more to make the cubes and dump them. There is also plastic smell coming from the fan/vent area, assuming this will go away after a few cycles.
- Second cycle, the reservoir filled up in about 30 seconds but took almost 10 minutes for the ice cubes to be made and dumped, although the cubes were much bigger and I got all 9 cubes, whereas the 1st cycle I only got 8.
- During the fourth cycle, I could hear the fan start up for a few seconds and then shut off. It did this about 5-6 times before the compressor finally kicked on and then everything ran normal. Hope that is normal and only happened because it was a little warm.
- So far so good, only time will tell but very happy with the purchase up to this point.
I had a video to post but apparently they only allow photos.

My wife LOVES pellet ice (think Sonic ice) but those types of machines are ridiculously expensive. After reading a few reviews I purchased this model for her for Mother's Day. She absolutely loves it...even though the ice cubes are not "pellet."
The only thing we wish was a little different is that it was a tiny bit quieter. Whether it's filling with water or the fan is running or it's dumping the cubes into the holder, it's just a little noisy. But that is getting pretty nit-picky. She had initial dreams of having this in our master bedroom (yes, she likes chewing on ice that much!)...but after hearing it for a few cycles, we left it down in our kitchen.
The machine itself was very easy to set up. We read the instructions, gave it a little clean-out before filling, then filled it up with water and let it run through a couple cycles. We followed the instructions to toss the first couple cycles' worth of cubes, in case they tasted a little plastic or whatever, but my wife said right away that she really enjoyed them. She said they are actually very easy to chew despite not being pellet. She primarily uses the smallest size setting.
The machine also does a great job of producing cubes and if my wife doesn't use them, then they melt and are used as water for new cubes. We really haven't had any major issues or concerns with it. What a great little purchase for my ice-chewing wife!

Makes 9 cubes about every 10 minutes

This is great for your counter top to make cubes for a drink about every 10 minutes during a party or something. If you are looking to fill a cooler or something, it is going to take awhile. 9 cubes are made at a time. I live on a boat so it is fine with me to keep adding the cubes to the cooler as they come out. I have estimated that I could spend about $300 during the summer on ice. So far I have gone about 4 weeks and only had to spend $4 on ice. Hotter weather, slower output.

Supposed to make three sizes of ice cubes, however, they all appear to look the same to me. Also, the ice full sensor is a bit hinky. It comes on and doesn't go off even after the bin is full unless you shut down the unit and restart it.
Definitely makes great ice though. Runs quietly. Has a large water storage.

Great machine. Fits easily on my kitchen counter under my cabinets. So easy to use, just add water and wait 3 minutes for ice. Bought as a deal of the day and the price was reasonable especially when I used my Best Buy bucks!!!!

Well I have 3 kids and on hot summer days with all the sports they are involved in the ice in the fridge was empty and waiting for the system to catch back up. Bought this for a couple of reasons to help on those days but turned out to be a nice addition for parties as well just leaving it out on the kitchen counter.
Quiet and looks good and the ice is nice shape as well. Overall good investment for kitchen.

This unit is certainly worth the price. It says it can generate 33 lbs, but I haven’t tried that yet. However, in 2-2.5hrs it fills the tray and keeps the ice decently cool. This is not a cooler so the ice will melt. We bought empty ice bags and fill during the weekend, takes a couple of hours, and use them for rest of week or parties (requires so planning). Very space friendly and it’s pretty much dummy proof on how to use it. It works as advertised and definitely worth the price if you can find it on sale. No other unit in the price range comes close. I tested a few units prior to this one.

This machine is quieter than I expected based on other reviews. While it can make cubes in appx. 7 min., it still only makes 8 cubes at a time. Plan ahead for parties and it can save you trips to your local convenience store.

Makes small batches of ice about every 12 minutes, but it just keeps on coming. The ice starts to melt fairly quickly, so I bag it and put it in my freezer to harden when the bin is half full. No significant set-up of the machine. Remove the bits of tape, wash the bin and water reservoir, add water and turn it on. First batch of ice rolled out in less than 15 min of starting.

Its a good ice maker that makes ice pretty quickly. It’s pretty quiet except for when ice drops, which is expected. Ice size is not small, even on small but it still works fit what we need.
