Purchased this portable air conditioner for my son’s room. He loves it... his room faces the sun and run computers (they produce a lot of heat). The unit adds additional cooling to his room. Now his room is at temperature with the rest of the house... awesome! Planning to by more as the summer runs hot. It did not increase my electric bill at all.

Keeps the room nice and cool. A little noisy but works great.

I use it to replace the AC unit in my 40 foot camper trailer and it works great! Easy setup and doesn’t over tax the electrical.

So I'll start by saying that its definitely a solid air conditioner for the price and has no issues cooling a room, but there's a few things about it that are frustrating to no end and I will be returning it. The main reason I was interested in this air conditioner was the price and the claims of it being both an air conditioner dehumidifier combo. Anyone looking for this feature, you will be sorely disappointed. First time setting one of these up, I had everything ready to go and began looking for the hose to connect for the continuous water drain (needed for regardless of whether or not its on the "dry" dehumidifier setting"). It was nowhere to be found in the box. I assumed there must have been some kind of mistake, so I checked the manual, and the only information it gives about connecting a hose is to check the insignia website for more information (weird... but ok). So I go online and the only information on the website is the exact same manual in a PDF that still tells you to go online. So I call Insignia support to see if they can I can either find out if there was supposed to be a hose and get one from them somehow, or find out what size its supposed to be so I can buy my own. No one that I spoke to seemed to have any information about this until I got a call back several days letter and the only thing they could tell me was that it was not supposed to be included in the box. So not only does it not come with the hose, but there is no information whatsoever about what size the hose needs to be to purchase your own. I had to improvise with mine but I don't understand how this information could be so blatantly neglected when it is 100% required if you don't want to be manually lifting this thing up and draining water out of it all the time. Secondly, the dehumidifier function straight up does not dehumidify. I am using this as a sort of space air conditioner to cool my bedroom a bit more than the rest of house, and not only is the room I use it in not dehumidified, but its actually MORE humid than the rest of the house cooled by the central air when I use this air conditioner. And this is the same whether I use it on the dry setting or cool setting. Which honestly I can't seem to see the difference between the two, except that the cool setting doesn't let you set a temperature it just continuously cools the room until you manually shut it off. I have owned 2 of these, both the 350 and 450 square foot models purchased years apart, and I had the same problem with both of them, so I don't think that this one is an exception.

The AC works great a little loud but keeps the room cool.

This unit is easy to install and keeps room nice and cool.

I must say,this was a pretty good deal and I'm very happy with this purchase.Im excited to see how it works in the real heat.

Overall it has done its job this summer. Just wish it was not so loud.

Easy to install and easy to use. Plan on purchasing a second one for my daughters room for the summer!

I prefer my bedroom cooler when sleeping, so this works well to keep my room cool without having to cool the rest of the house. The venting system is a little bit of a pain, but worth dealing with.

This was added to a room over our garage that always seems to run 10 degrees warmer than the rest of the house and this keeps that room cooler and helps the main ac unit keeping the rest of the house much more enjoyable. Perfect

I bought this air conditioner during the winter when it was a "Deal of the Day". We are using it everyday now and it works great. We have it in the bedroom and it keeps the room nice and cool all day and night. I would highly recommend this air conditioner.

Bought this item as a Deal Of the Day. In a time of need during last summer it came in pretty handy at those Texas summer night. Central system was no good and this was a quick fix to get through the night.
