This turned out way better then I thought and the fact that I have extra shelfs to put in when I don’t have the keg in is great! Best birthday present I got for my husband. He LOVES it!

Long term, 16 month review.
The only plus is the kegerator keeps the beer cold enough.
The bad... Everything leaks. Everything.
Anywhere where there is a connection or coupling for liquid beer, the system ended up leaking.
The nitrogen regulator also drifted substantially over time. Everything is bottom of the barrel quality.
The thermostat also ends up sticking sometimes and overcooling the beer causing it to freeze.
I have since replaced every component aside from the fridge itself.
New digital commercial grade johnson controls refrigeration thermostat. New taprite dual regulator. Dual tap beer tower, perlick flow control faucets. Stainless steel keg taps/couplers, etc...
Got the unit on sale for 450 dollars initially, started having issues after 6 months. Now another 700 in upgrades into the unit.
Still cheaper than a quality dual tap kegerator, but the overall quality of the fridge itself is lack-luster in comparison.
Do yourself a favor, if you can afford something quality just buy that.
Would not suggest investing in this unit despite the comically cheap price.
You get what you pay for folks.

Seems like the unit works well enough, though we'll see with time. Unfortunately, the unit arrived damaged -- a pretty massive and ugly dent on the side. The damage seems cosmetic but it's really frustrating.

Very Good For The Price

I researched multiple kegerators around the $400 price before pulling the trigger on this one. I learned the difference between these cheaper priced kegerators and the more expensive ones so I am able to give a reasonable review, considering this is a cheaper kegerator, respectfully. The kegerator came with a dent near the top of the door to the unit. I actually expected this, as this seems to be common with this kegerator so I wasn't too upset about it. Just put a VT magnet over it. The instructions are okay for the most part but really suck in regards to explaining the washer placement. There are different types and sizes of washers and it groups them all as one part, "valve washers." So when it's time to add a washer to a part of the unit it refers to all the washers so you don't know which one goes where. There is a clear rubber "duckbill washer" which goes between the gas line and coupler. The duckbill (pointed) part goes into the coupler with the rounder part exposed to the tank/gas line. This part is quite important. I had a leak and did not locate and fix it until I went through 4 tanks (Over $100 wasted on tank refills). I have attached a photo with the responsible loose nut circled. The instructions explain to connect the gas line to the gas line connector on the regulator. Well the nut which the gas line slips up against should be tightened already but apparently it came too loose. I sprayed soap water on this connection and saw the air bubbles flowing. I just tightened it slightly and after 2 weeks, I have had no leaks. I have already recommended this kegerator to many people. Just keep in mind that you need to check all connections, even connections that you did not make but were already done when you got the item. I'd do the soap water test once the gas is hooked up, before I'd connect a keg so that you don't mess up your beer in the keg and also don't waste money on CO2 tanks with leaks. I also added an AC Infinity Axial 1225 fan to circulate the air inside the kegerator, sitting next to the keg (elevated to allow air intake). It is very quiet and pushes air from the bottom of the unit to the top. That took care of some temperature disparities I was having within the unit itself. So as long as you check the connections, cover up any small dent(s), and add a cheap fan inside and your $400 kegerator works just as well (almost) as the more expensive ones. If you want to be extra ana1 about it you can add a beer tower cooling system for about $40 as well. I'd personally rather just have some extra head on that first pour and wait the 2 minutes it takes to go down. Every pour after that is perfect. I have my temperature dial set at 5 and my CO2 regulator pressure set to 8-10psi (people recommend 10-12, I do not). Enjoy.

This is my first kegerator so I can't attest to how well this performs to higher end models. However, I must say that finding a name brand stainless steel kegerator for less than $500 is difficult. I bought this on sale at Bestbuy. It works great! Assembly was easy. The unit did come dented on the door, but it was so minor it didn't feel worth taking back. It cools the beer to 34 degrees at the 5.5/6.0 setting. Keeping beer cold is key and keeping CO2 levels in check is key in reducing foam. Unfortunately, I had about 3 lbs of CO2 leak out. It was my fault for not putting the supplied O ring on the keg coupler and I don't believe I fully twisted the keg coupler properly on my second keg. However, CO2 is cheap ($15 at local paintball supply in the Atlanta area). It's only a pain in that I live 30 min from my supplier. So make sure your connections are tight and secure. The best way to check for leaks is with soapy water and by weighing the tank (it weighs 8.14 lbs, so just add 5 to that for a full tank weight excluding the regulator and hosing). A 5lb tank should last about 6 half kegs or 17 1/6 kegs (I get the 1/6 kegs to change it up more often and to save my back hauling it upstairs). So, I think the 5 lb tanks works out great. If your beer is too foamy just increase the temperature dial number on the back of the fridge (lower temp) and lower your CO2 (using less is better, right?). You may also want to consider using keg lube on your O rings and invest in a cleaning system (I use it after every 2 kegs). I recommend Brew Clean by Keg Connection and Petro Gel food grade lubricant. I don't see the need for a tower fan for this unit. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

The fit/finish of the kegerator is great, looks awesome in my bar, but it's failing in its primary function -- cooling the beer -- thus I can't give this anything but a 1 star review.
I plugged the unit in after assembling and letting it sit overnight. It began cooling like any refrigerator would. Cool, now to get some beer!
I had to wait 3 weeks for my keg to arrive (it was backordered) so I really couldn't use this unit immediately after initially purchased. As luck would have it, there's only a 15 day return period for this thing. Thanks, Best Buy, for the awesome customer-focused return policy...
I can't get this thing to cool my beer below 41 degrees when set to the max cooling setting (6 on the dial). The temperature range according to the product is minimum 32 degrees, max 45 degrees. I'm looking to obtain 35/36 degrees and even with a fan circulating the air, the best I can do is 41.
This unit has one job, and it fails.

Birthday Surprise Ruined

This review isn’t based on the product itself because it arrived looking like this. (see photos) The box was not damaged even though it was left in the driveway in the rain by FedEx. If you look closely it doesn’t even look like it’s been damaged but made that way and packaged to sell by the manufacturer. It makes me not want to order a replacement one but I’ve decided to try one more.
The worst part is it was for my daughters 29th birthday I had the O2 tank and keg filled and ready to go but we unboxed it and she said is this why it was on sale? It was embarrassing and very disappointing, needless to say it kind of started her birthday off to a bad start and totally ruined the surprise I had been planning for weeks. I really feel that Best Buy should compensate me in some way but It m sure it will be blamed on Covid like everything else is these days. Sorry I’m really frustrated right now!
Will post an update once replacement is received and usable.

This product is trash. It does not work and folks at insignia no help whatsoever .Bought for my husband for Father’s Day. Came banged up. Leaked beer all over. Nightmare of a purchase.
I went to the store and then they told me because I had it delivered to the store because I wanted to surprise my husband, that I had to pay $75 for them to pick it back up. Don’t step into this nightmare zone.

This is a decent kegerator for the price. With that being said it is great if you do a couple of cheap mods. I bought 2 usb fans, put one of them in a project box and made a tower cooler. The other fan simply circulates. They have 3 speed settings and are currently on medium. I also changed the beer tubing from the standard 4.5' to 10' 3/16 inside 7/16 outside diameter tubing coiled and sat on top of the keg. Thermostat has 6 settings and is currently set at 4. No thermometer included so I will be buying one. CO2 pressure is set to 9.5 with a Yuengling 1/4 barrel. Any higher seems to foam to much. I spent $35 on the mods and now this kegerator is worth every penny.

Cold Beer!

We've had this kegerator for 18 months and so far, so good. It's nice looking and keeps your beer ice cold! Regulating the CO2 was an issue at first (our fault not the product's) but once it was adjusted no additional problems. We built a 6" platform to place it on to make it even with our bar. Easy to maintain. My husband and I are really happy with this kegerator and super happy having cold draft beer in our garage Tiki bar.

We have had this kegerator for 5 months now and can say it works perfectly. I like how it has wheels and that it fits several sizes of kegs (not all at once) and the CO2 fits either inside or outside the unit. It was not hard to put together however, the tower itself was a little tricky so be patient and don't wrench on it as you may break the plastic pieces on the attachment. IF you encounter a problem with your beer after it is all set up and you've been using it for a couple of months and start to be concerned that there is a CO2 leak, PLEASE do research first and test for a leak, look it up, there's several ways to do it and websites that will help you. We found out that TWICE, we were not sold a full canister of CO2 which made us believe there was a leak because the CO2 was not even outlasting a half of a pony keg. Luckily, we explored all avenues first because our purchase return window was closed anyway so we would've had to have it fixed on our dime, had that been the issue. Use deduction and try to make sure you rule out all causes of malfunction, CO2 depletion or foam regulation. You will have to adjust the regulator to your liking of how much foam you appreciate. Other than that, it's easy to clean, the door goes on easily and opens great with no offset. I think this was a well made purchase.

I bought this kegerator for my Husband’s birthday in 2017 for an outdoor party . It’s been 7 years, we later installed it in our renovated kitchen, it’s supposed to be freestanding but it’s been built in for 6years with no issue. It is still working great and we LOVE it!
