So far so good.

So far so good. I have had this dehumidifier for about 2 months. It’s relatively quiet and pretty good at extracting moisture from the air. I do not have any complaints except the size of the reservoir. I have to empty it 1-2 times per day. But, the humidity levels in my basement are pretty high. I am happy I purchased it.

We’re glad to hear that the Insignia™ 50-Pint Dehumidifier is working well for you and effectively extracting moisture from the air. It’s great to know that you find it relatively quiet too. We appreciate your feedback about the reservoir size and understand that high humidity levels can require more frequent emptying. Your insights are valuable and help us improve our products. Garage is fixed!

This unit is a strong performer. My 3-car garage is detached and it gets steamy in there. After just 1 day of operation I could notice a signigicant decrease in the humidity. It's been operating constantly for about 2 weeks save for when the reservoir is full. It's pulling a full 50 pints about every 8-10 hours. Empty when i leave for work and again when I pull back in - granted opening the garage doors lets everything back in so this little champ has a big job to do. 1140 insulated and sheetrocked square feet (9.5 ft ceiling). Haven't connected the hose for continuous use yet...tried but without a floor drain it wont "updrain" into my sink. A cheap $50 condensate pump will fix that but I'm not sure it's worth the bother. Definitely consider this product. The cord is too short for my application but is likely plenty long for most uses.
I have a soft top convertible and the dampness problem is solved!

Quieter than my old Frigidaire unit. The compressor doesn't make a lot of noise (thump) when it cycles on/off. Drops the humidity level quickly. My only complaint is the water tank is difficult to get back in the unit.

This dehumidifier WORKS! Let me tell you- my husband and I thought we would maybe empty this thing every few to, possibly, every other day. No, we’re clearing it around twice a day every day because of the rain we’ve been getting here in the Dallas area this spring. I never realized until now how much humidity our home trapped. It’s really making a difference with our electric bill in that we don’t have to keep the air quite as low to have the home stay cooler since there’s so much less humidity than usual in summers. I absolutely love this thing and regret not getting one sooner!

This is exactly what I needed. Not overly expensive and is very simple to operate. Can't speak about the longevity of it as I've only used it for about 3 days but it seems like a workhorse. It's doing wonders in my house. Currently have it in the basement which is disgustingly humid and it has made a big difference so far.

First I would say most likely grabbing a dehumidifier from a website like ac infinity is a better option for bang for buck probably. This thing does the job for the price but definitely isn’t truly worth its price.
The settings are a little strange and the instructions honestly didn’t even accurately depict how the machine worked atleast in my case. I had multiple times where room was set 65% RHI and it just cooked the room down to 30% humidity not sure what caused this but I noticed it twice. Made one of my plants not dry correctly.

Some six weeks in this unit has performed as advertised. Taking gallons and gallons of water out of the house and making the A/C work more efficiently. It does need to be emptied at least twice per day during this summer season.

So I've had the gamut of Frigidaires, GEs, Friedrichs, and more. Most are loud and last a year, maybe two. The Friedrich lasted 4 which was better than most but had zero customer service, so they all have their problems.
A few years ago I had a Soleus, which was truly a beast which sucked so much water out of the air that I was wondering if I wasn't drying out the ground around my house. It, unfortunately, was recalled for being a fire hazard, so there's that.
This Insignia ranks closer to the Soleus in term of ability to dehumidify than any other I've ever had - and it's quieter than any other I've ever had.
What's more, I picked it up at BB for $150 delivered. As soon as this hits that price point again I'll pick up at least one if not two more. One will be for our bedroom area, for which NO dehumidifier I've ever owned was quiet enough, but this one might just make the grade.
I can't say how long this dehumidifier will work since I just got it a couple of weeks ago, so we don't know everything there is to know yet, but I know enough to willingly (even gladly) spend the money a second time on the chance that it's as good as it seems.

Gets the job done

This dehumidifier gets the job done - and quickly! I like the turbo option and how user friendly it is. However, it is quite loud and overall large. Also, the threads on the back for the hose to connect to are VERY cheaply made. The threads are plastic and one line of threads stripped out the first time i tried to screw a hose on it. It also doesn't make sense that the drain sticks straight out and isn't angled down. This kept causing my hose to kink. Overall, it gets the job done well.

I got this dehumidifier to reduce humidity in my house in Florida without having to use air conditioning to do so. This unit works very well for a room, but not an entire house, which is fine. It rolls easily on wheels. I have kept it on the constant setting as opposed to on and off based on a humidity level. It is not too loud at night-it’s kind of white noise. The water container fills up about every 12 hours and is easily emptied; I use it to water plants or just dump in tub. Note: the water is cold so if you need a cold soak it would work. I wouldn’t drink it, though.
Most importantly, I wanted to make sure it did not increase my power bill, and it does not appear that it has. I have had it for a month and I do not see an increase. It makes the ambient temperature in the room feel lower, to the point I sometimes check my a/c thermostat.
I bought this on sale and if it goes on sale again, I will get another one.

Really enjoy having this now in my basement. After a few hours, I started feeling a difference in the air. I empty it 3 times a day. It does have a drain hose connection but I have nowhere to have it drain into other than using the bucket. It doesn’t really take up much room in the corner and isn’t an eyesore. I like that it is on wheels if I need to move it around. I keep mine set to “Comfort” mode and it keeps my basement feeling much drier and more comfortable to be in, even on humid days.

This dehumidifier is surprisingly powerful. It pulls its full tank-worth of water out of the air in our house in about 18 hours. Since we bought it, the humidity in our house has gone from about 65% to about 48%, and it took about a week to consistently get to that level. It's handling 1050 square feet with relative ease, even with the occasional long hot shower in the room next to where we have it set up.

We were having trouble with humidity control in a new building so I purchased two of these Insignia 50-Pint Dehumidifiers to help us through the process. We ended up using them the whole summer and they worked very, very well! I was surprised by how much moisture each one pulled out of the air in a 24-hour period. If you have never had a standalone dehumidifier before, it is good to be aware that ALL of them are noticeable when running... but this model seems quieter to me than others I've used. Easy tank to empty. I would choose this one again!

We love this dehumidifier. We live in a poorly insulated mobile home in a wet climate. We were dealing with mold constantly. We bought one for our main living space and it works great. No more mold problems. We empty it every day. We loved our first one so much we purchased another one for our master bedroom at the far end of the home because the the dehumidifier did not quite reach to the far end of the trailer. It has worked very well at pulling the moisture from that room and no more mold problems. We have loved this dehumidifier so much we just purchased one for our friends.

I bought this to replace a very old, very noisy but still functioning Maytag dehumidifier and to take advantage of an EnergyStar rebate and Massachusetts tax-free weekend.
So far, it works great -- it pulls humidity out of the air like nobody's business (I have a duplex, bedrooms upstairs, 1280 sf total) -- and it's extremely quiet. It's easy to empty the bucket - and to put the bucket back again. I'm happy.
