I have had a sound bar taken out during a storm and reluctant. The Best Buy associate educated us that these are good for a year. Every time there is a hit a little is taken away. The expensive surge protectors last longer and can take more hits. As long as you remember to change these out, it's a cheap way to protect your investment.

Need these surge protectors

Literally. But we didn’t lose anything plugged into them. We lost exercise equipment and small appliances not plugged into them. Quickly replaced them. Great insurance protection!

Great Power Strip

I wanted to get a new power strip because I was concerned that part of the issue was a power surge that possibly fried the Blu-ray player especially because an hour or two before the Blu-Ray player had been working just fine. This surge protector works great. I haven't had any issues so far.
