My only issue was that I assumed S-video also carried an audio signal, like HDMI. It doesn't. You have to go by the literal name. It just carries a video signal.

Old style cable

Ended up new receiver only takes hdmi cable but older tv doesn't. I thought on the back of the receiver was also a s cable port but actually was a data port with some other type of cable. Cable was low cost so just didn't bother to return it.

Obsolete Cable

It was a tough cable to find, so I ended paying too much for it in the end. It worked, but it shouldn't have been so pricey for an obsolete cable.

Simplifies the behind the cabinet cable nest

I bought two, replacing other cables that totaled up to twelve connections, reducing the error of cross-wiring in the process
