I will be completely honest and say that I put this poor shredder through a worst-case scenario. I would regularly run it until it overheated, let it cool for 30 minutes then do it all over again. I probably put more pages through it than it was rated for on a regular basis, and overall I don't know how many thousands of pages I shredded (I generally shred around 300 pages at a time or more). That being said, there were a few annoyances: Paper would get wedged between the cutting wheels and the plastic guides and the sides of the opening, causing some pretty loud squeaking/squealing and required some small tweezers to pry out, and this needed done every few hundred pages. Also shreds would stick to the cutters so you would have to clean up a mess when it was time to empty the bin. That being said, the failure was the last thing I would expect to break considering the heavy use I was putting this poor thing through. I woke up this morning and the window in the bin had fallen cleanly out of the hole; the clips holding it in broken off. If I hadn't purchased the protection warranty I would caulk it back in place and keep going, but I'll use my warranty to move up to a larger shredder as my needs changed significantly since I bought it (I was doing 10-15 pages a week that became 500+ a week). I don't want this to be seen as a negative review. I probably put more paper through this machine in 8 months than most people will shred in a lifetime, and the mechanical portion is still fine. Some glue around the window and this machine would be good to go for who knows how long. For the price of entry this little shredder handled way above its pay grade.

Ordered this shredder online and it was ready within an hour for pickup. Great for an affordable price. It works really well, and it is actually fairly quiet for a shredder. It shreds paper and credit cards easily. I haven’t experienced it overheating but if you have a lot of stuff to shred, it’s wise to give it a break every half hour or so like you would with any other shredder.

The shredder packs, a mighty punch, especially for its size and price-point! I’ve used it consistently since making my purchase and it’s eaten through hundreds of pages of paper without incident. I will tell you I think that it is a stretch that it’s intended 6 pages … with that many the motor sounds as if it is bogging down and struggling … probably why some of the reviewers claimed their unit has overheated. For me, five pages seems to be my sweet spot. The shredder quickly eats through five pages with no problem, and I’ve had it in constant use over a period of time with no problems. Whenever you empty the receptacle, be sure to clear the teeth as well to prevent any future problems.

The shredder that had served me for over 10 years finally ceased up. I had no idea what I wanted to spend on a new shredder. I finally settled on Best Buy's proprietary brand, Insignia. The Insignia TV I bought over ten years ago is still working great. This shredder is just the right size for my apartment and needs. Priced right!

Its work really well and the sound is not loud unlike the one i bought the Bonsaii its so loud i only used a couple of weeks and its not working anymore and its too loud.

I needed to clean out a file cabinet so I bought this and it shreds 6 sheets at a time so I am getting rid of old stuff more quickly.It was a good price and I would recommend it to anyone needing a good shedder.

Great shredder overall, especially for the price. So far shredded all the non important mail from months ago. Put it to a limit of up to 10 papers at a time. Did real well and help up perfectly. I would definitely recommend. Buy it!!

This product was amazing. I had previously had a old broken down paper shredder and it was almost to the point where it shredded papers so slow I could do it my self. When I saw this I was like let me try this because I needed something wouldn’t break the bank and it worked. It isn’t loud at all and it even tells you when it’s overworking with a over heat protection light which is nice. Overall I give this a 10/10 and would highly recommend.

It's rated to cut 6 sheets amd credit cards. I haven't went over that and the shredder does the job pretty well. I think this is a good buy if youre just shredding bank statements and junk mail with your information on it.

Great deal. On sale went to pick up was not in stock though said it was . Worker ordered one from another store so oi could pick up when available and gave me 10 dollar credit for waste of time and gas .

I’m giving it 5 stars because it does what it says I bought it 2 years ago for my home use and it works really well it can cut up to 6 papers at the same time and it works perfectly fine when cutting 6 papers at the same time.

For home use this shredder gets the job done. Bought it during a sale that made it even a better buy. Handle to lift shredder is sturdy and the shredding easily handles our household needs. I wish the switch was not so stiff but otherwise it is a good buy.

This is my first shredder, and I love it.I am getting rid of documents that are over 20 years old.Feels so good to declutter.Just thinking about cutting it up gave me the shivers, but this makes it so easy.I can't believe l have had some of this stuff all these years.For the price, this was a great deal.

AMAZING! I can finally shred all my unwanted mail not having to worry about getting my address/name/sensitive information. Past credit card bills/checks can now be safely disposed of. It’s a smaller sized shredder but it can handle more than 6 papers at a time, and it doesn’t over heat like most do. Awesome!
