    I rarely write any product reviews but frustrations with this purchase experience has given me enough motivation to write this and hopefully warn others about Insignia products and customer service. I purchased this refrigerator on 2/13/2019 because of the high-rated reviews. My experience was completely the opposite. The unit stopped working/cooling completely on 6/23/2020 (after only 1 year and 4 months). Bad odor and brownish chemicals was leaking into the freezer compartment (see picture). I immediately contacted professional repair service (recommended by Yelp https://yelp.to/qTKq/ZZWg4fI7D7) and diagnosis was the sealed system failed and it’s unrepairable. The technician concluded that it's a product defect given how short the time the unit was functional. I contacted Insignia customer service to inform them about this unit's defect. The only response they gave was Insignia cannot offer any help because it's out of their one-year warranty. This refrigerator has the shortest lifespan (16mo) I and anyone i know has ever owned. Words can hardly describe how unsatisfied i am given that i paid full price for this unit, did not operate it in any way to cause it to fail, and in the end, i was met with this very subpar level of customer service. It tells me that Insignia does not stand behind quality of their products and has given up on me being a returning customer.

    I purchased this refrigerator against so many bad reviews. I took my chances and paid for it many times. After 6-8 months I’m now realizing it’s only getting worse. This refrigerator does not cool, causing the spoiling of the food unfortunately. I’ve changed the settings many times and either it freezes the food or just lets it spoil because the temperature is so warm. The freezer is fine, but I bought it for extra space in my garage for overflow of veggies, meats and cheeses. My 10 year old fridge worked better than what I have now.

    Horrible product. DO NOT BUY. Don’t know why the reviews are so good… it died after 2 months. Have the same brand for a mini fridge and it’s awesome. But this one just wouldn’t cool. Freezer items defrosted and melted, refrigerator temp was warm… had to throw everything out. Shame cuz it’s so beautiful.. They had a repair guy come out, he said he’d order a part, then they cancelled it and said it couldn’t be fixed. And it was hell to exchange. Luckily, Dee, Samantha, and Peter @bestbuythousandoaks were extremely helpful. I was ping-ponged quite a bit. Another word of advice, buy in store so u don’t have to rely on someone over the phone.

    What the ???? This thing isn't working 9 months and 1 day after purchase. The only solution is to to go into a store to get repaired. How does Best Buy expect me to get it to the store? The first appointment to talk to someone isn't even for another week. Terrible, terrible solution Best Buy.

    Good delivery people but 6:30 am is too early. My frig has a dent on the left side sadly. I am very sad because I just got a stacked washer dryer and it is dented right on the front. Two new appliances from you and both damaged. I guess no more Best Buy for us.

    As a person who doesn’t know measurements this fridge should have been placed in a picture with a regular size fridge as it is extremely small. This fridge should only be a back up in the garage to a normal size fridge. I wish I could return it and get a regular normal size fridge. I wasted $500 for nothing. I am so angry and will never purchase again.

    Purchased this a little over a month ago. Freezer is ice cold but for some the refrigerator is not getting it done. I have it maxed out but it just isn’t getting cold enough. Guess I’m f’ed now.

    Door doesn’t close, controls hard to get at and only one for both refrigerator and freezer. Bottom of freezer is difficult to get to and pulls off the rail. Basically, not worth it.

    Stopped Cooling, Freezer Still Works – Don’t Buy

    We selected this refrigerator with hopes of reliability, but that was not the case. Shortly after the manufacturer’s warranty expired, the refrigerator completely stopped cooling, while the freezer continued to work. It’s extremely frustrating to have such an issue so soon, and repair costs aren’t worth it for an appliance that should last years. This has been a huge inconvenience, and I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone. Spend a little more for something reliable – this was not a wise purchase.

    I bought one of these, it died about 2 weeks later, Best Buy did replace it with another it lasted until now and now it's dying and not keeping things cold anymore. I would like to exchange this for another brand fridge and would be happy to pay the difference.

    This was the exact size I was looking for and was happy with how it worked. However, it was the loudest fridge I've ever heard, and I ended up having to return it because I couldn't stand the sound. Perhaps it was a defective model, I'm not sure. Very disappointing. Thankfully customer service handled the return well.

    For everyone who reviewed this fridge after 3 months and gave it 5 stars, I totally agree, but I would suggest waiting till you've owned it at least a year (which is when the warranty ends) before reviewing it. I went out to the garage yesterday to get something out of the freezer only to find that everything in the freezer had thawed completely. I don't know how long the meats were sitting out there in this condition, so I had to toss everything. I called insignia. Claiming the warranty was a fairly straightforward process, but it required taking the confirmation code I was given to a Best Buy store (even though I had placed my original order online) and requesting the refund/exchange on site. I was offered a replacement, but I opted to upgrade to a Whirlpool. One thing to note about this fridge apart from it completely dying is that the pullout freezer basket is a bit of a hassle, especially if you store heavy meats in it. It doesn't glide out smoothly like a real drawer. You pretty much have to lift the whole thing out every time you want to access items inside. Then, when you put it back, you need to make sure that you push it back in completely, or else the door won't close properly. Seems obvious, but if you're not paying close attention, you could potentially leave the door open ever so slightly and not notice until it's too late and things have begun thawing.

    Based on the reviews we decided to purchase this refrigerator, it stopped cooling after year 1! Right after the warranty period!
