I purchased this anti-static wrist band for my first PC build. I've read horror stories on the interwebs about all the bad things static electricity can do to pc components and I decided that if I was spending a ton of money on pc components that a couple extra dollars on this wrist band could potentially save me a lot of trouble during my first pc build. The wrist band incorporates an alligator clip that you simply clip onto a known grounded component like a computer case. As far as I know, this wrist band worked for me and quite possibly prevented my pc components from being damaged during my build. I would recommend this product for anyone working on PC components.

Just what you need when your building your own computer or upgrading parts. You can ground yourself by touching metal parts of a case but you have to remind yourself of doing it. With the wrist band you attach it to metal on the case and you don’t have to worry about grounding.

I got this for my sister to use when she puts together computers. Prior to this, she'd been going without, touching metal to ground herself and hoping for the best. I suppose she didn't necessarily need this bracelet, but it certainly helps. It gives me peace of mind knowing she's less likely to fry her components when wearing this. So far, so good—everything she's built is functional and nothing is catching fire, so I think the wrist band was a solid purchase.

Hi Zvezdaprinc,

What can I say? It's a static wrist strap. It dissipates the static charges that have built up on my body so that I don't zap a sensitive component like a processor or memory chip. With graphics cards costing about half of the computer costs, I'd hate to zap the GPU. It is always better safe than sorry. Get one and get on with it.

Make sure when you use this working on a PC, to shut down your PC completely, turn the switch to the power supply off, unplug the power cable for your PC out of the wall, and put the PC on a wooden table or somewhere were their will be little static. If yo get all that down, I had no issues installing hard drives or graphics cards in my PC without having to worry about shorting out my PC parts.

Dauring the winter in my home office, I was getting a lot of static electric shocks I mean a lot where I was almost afraid to touch anything...lol by attaching this to my wrist and then to the metal part of my desk I was able to work without any issues.
Not much I can say other than it works just fine and does pull loose, if you forget that you have it on when you walk away from the desk

I don't have particularly large hands or wrists and I can barely get this around my wrist. If I move my arm/wrist too much, there's the chances it will detach. The metal button/clasp for attaching the bracelet and cord isn't very snug, as I've had them separate numerous times when stretching because the cord as well is rather short for completing some work.
That being said, it does what it's supposed to do, albeit within means of limited movement.

I needed the anti-static wrist band because for some odd reason I can't stop static build up in my body. I could walk across a concrete floor in 0% humidity with tight clothes on and still get zapped when I turn a light switch on. This wrist band allows me to work on my electronics without damaging them. It fits snug and easy to adjust.

I've built a few PCs now, and this is exactly what I needed to do that. It is comfortable to wear and you forget it's there, but i highly recommend getting one of these wrist bands if you're working around any sensitive electronics where you may electro-statically discharge and damage your product.

Don’t run the risk of ruining your sensitive computer parts during your build! Yes, it’s rare. Consider this just an extra step in protecting your investments. No need to risk ruining your parts when a <$20 tool will prevent it entirely.. *if used correctly

Its a basic product. Does what it's supposed to. The price is good and the design is basic but serves the purpose. Not sure how it would compare to any other static wristbands but. Being less than ten bucks it's a good product

This product worked perfectly and gave me the confidence needed to replace the hard drive in my computer. The concern for static electricity while doing the job was not a concern when wearing this product.
I recommend it to anyone who works with sensitive electronic equipment.
