    My last charging cable broke when I was travelling (one of the lightning cables tips snapped off), so I needed a new one -NOW!! When I recharge my iPad, I need the ability to pick up the device without disconnecting the cable. With a 10 foot cable, I am able to do so - with ease. What I don't understand is why this cable cost me $30. Since then, I've ordered less expensive cables elsewhere.
