Broke after 8 months

I purchased the 10' Insignia Iphone cord for my Iphone 5 after my other cord died. The cord worked well for 8 months but the wiring at charge input end right before the plug split and the wires now show and the product now unusable. I kept this wire right next to my bed and haven't moved it. To have split that much from very little wear and tear in 8 months is unacceptable. Luckily there is a 1 year warranty. today I purchased the modal best buy exclusive braided cable because braided supposedly lasts longer. Both cables worked on an Iphone 5 with the LifeProof case on. (I had concerns over this as I am sure others have).

It is so nice to be able to plug the phone in anywhere and still be able to sit comfortably and use it while it is charging regardless of where the power plugs are.
