    I wanted a long cord, and that is what I got. Was actually more gray than black, but that was not really a concern. I will try to update in a year- the real question on a product like this is how long it lasts.

    I have had lots of problems with Apple chargers as they all seem to break. Best Buy staff recommended this one and it is the most durable to date. It has been beaten up and dragged on the street and still works!
