It worked perfectly for that. The top was a little tricky to put on but once it's on, it's staying. Would recommend

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Insignia hard shell case is not that ideal for my new MacBook Pro 14”. The case itself seems to be very flawed, the foggy coating that is on the case comes off way too easy. If you wipe it with a wet paper towel, then you’re left with, what looks like grease was smeared all over the case. The instructions don’t make much sense either, luckily it doesn’t take much to figure out how to put it on your MacBook. With the case on, it makes my MacBook feel too bulky and it adds another layer of thickness that I don’t like. I could see how some people don’t mind that as long as it protects their device, but it’s just my personal preference. The case snaps on and fits snug, but being plastic, it’s not going to protect your computer of you drop it, it’s just going to prevent it from getting scratched or dirty. I have always liked Insignia brand products; I think they make awesome products at an affordable price. But with this case, I am not that impressed. With the bulkiness and the smudging of the coating, I would have to pass on this product.

This case was arguably easier to put on AND more of a durable protection! Wish they made one for my zephyrus g14 like this!
