Good adapter for its purpose

I don't know, but this adapter handles conversion well. Insignia is Bestbuy's product. I saw a Belkin adapter on bestbuy.com, but was able to get this cable as an open-box item for $14. A great deal!

It sits in both ports solidly, never losing connection. I did have a time getting it to work as a second screen for my Surface Pro 3. You may have to take it out put it back in a few times to get it to recognize it.

NOT for dual monitors

Will not work with dual HDMI monitors and Surface docking stations - had all kinds of issues with monitors (flashing, changing settings, etc.). Discovered that we needed ACTIVE not PASSIVE adapters. Works fine for docking just one monitor. I would NOT recommend for dual monitors, I would recommend for single monitors.

Works great to connect iMac Pro Laptop to TV

This mini-port connector to HDMI cable worked as advertised - great pictures from streamed movies on laptop to HD flat TV.

needed to output from mini dp to a monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.unfortunately the laptop itself has an older mini dp that required a mini dp to dp cable, or mini dp to hdmi cable the adapter would not work with that specific laptop (old samsung chronos 7) however the adapter worked fine with my newer laptop.
