    Seems OK so far...

This is my preliminary assessment of the DVD2 BD player from Insignia that I've just bought refurbished. I can find nothing obvious that would make me rush back to BB.for a refund and it seems well-made. Picture's fine and so far plays my media without a hitch. Haven't tried the wireless network features yet since my pc's connected to my Sony XBR to get internet content. The unit runs quite warm so I have a good fan I bought from on Ebay that sits under the unit, sitting atop of my Pioneer Elite.receiver that I should add runs on the cool side. If I have any problems I'll post again..

Great player, great value. Netflix issue solution

Set-up was easy (because I remembered to "unlock" network software), but player would not connect to Internet for software update or Netflix. Called tech support, got a technician in less than 30 seconds, who suggested resetting to factory specifications. (I had noticed that IP address was different from my router's). After quickly selecting my network (vs. my neighbors'), keying in my 26 digit code, this unit worked great; problem solved! Because these are refurbished units, some of them are likely to have previous owners' settings left on them. So use "reset to factory specifications," or call tech support for help. Player remembers your new settings, even after updates; so you won't have to do this again. Has great picture and sound, plays .mpegs, .wmvs, .jpegs, and many other (unlisted files).

I had really low expectations, but this really surprised me! It was very easy to set up and the picture is amazing. I was a little concerned how the sound would be since I don't have a sound system hooked up and other attempts at hooking devices to my TV have produced inferior sound. Not with this! It sounds as good as it looks. My only negatives are about Best Buy's outlet. The package arrived taped badly causing one flap to be open. There's a dent on the casing, but it's strictly cosmetic and won't be seen in my entertainment center. The manual had writing in it from the previous owner. Based on that writing, the person who returned it didn't understand how to connect it to a wireless network (or what a wireless network is).

Player itself is great but worst remote ever!

I don't understand why they equip a nice looking player like this with this cheap remote. It is not working well at all. First thing I did, of course replace batteries. Same thing, I have to press buttons several times for something to happen and hold the remote in different angles to see which one might work. Frustrating & annoying, this could have been such a great player for the money. Returning it.

I purchased this on 11/28/11 as a refurb, so we have been using it about two months. I have had NO issues whatsoever with it. It hooked up to the internet and did an upgrade the first time I turned it on - took ten minutes or so. Plays blu-rays without a hitch, Netflix is SO EASY to set up -it probably took less than five minutes, Pandora works great. I don't think it can hook up to Amazon on-line video, though. I read all the negative reviews, but decided to take a chance on it, since the NEW upgrade seems to work better. The remote works great -better than my TV remote. I use a $10 Philips universal learning remote most of the time in order to control the TV, too. I am using a Cisco E-2000 wireless router - Charter cable, HDMI connection to my cheap Westinghouse 46" 1080 LCD, and everything works great and easy together. I would definitely recommend this to a friend, since any other blu-ray with a built-in wireless seems to run a LOT more $. I wasn't scared off by the negative reviews, and easily recommend this unit. It is my first blu-ray, so I don't know how long it should take to load, but only seems to be about 20 seconds or so. I am really happy with it.

I read the reviews and I thought that I still try it. I should hadn't wasted my money and time. Don't get me wrong, it is an easy step up and it was great. But after fifteen days the adapter stop streaming. I could only use the dvd player. I figured that if they refurbush it, it would work at least 6 month. So do yourself a favor and add a little money and get another.

I have gone through two of these already and will not buy another one. The first one completely quit working. Now the second one will not play a blu-ray disc all the way through. It will completely restart the movie!

There was no remote in the box. I can't set up the wifi function or watch a movie with it. Insignia blu ray players are not compatible with charter remotes. 35 minutes on with Best Buy customer service and they told me it does not come with a remote. Clearly they did not read the ad. Don't waste your time or money with this product.

When I received the unit the DVD tray was opened about a 1/4", so I knew there was something wrong. I powered it up and the tray would not move. DOA. I don't think BB even check these thing out. Never again buying anything from BB.

I bought this and it has a data sticker from Aug 2010. So the unit is almost two years old now. This will stop me from buying from best buy ever again. I guess that is the surprise you get from Best Buy these days.

The Blue ray player it self is pretty good once you can get it to work with the remote. I have tried to use a universal remote with it but its no different. . its relay to bad because otherwise its a good player.

    Great wi-fi blue ray player

I bought one of these almost a year ago. So easy to set up and navigate. So good in fact I have just bought another one for my bedroom. Why only have one in the lounge room at this price, when I can lay at ease in bed and get all the films I want. Streaming video is qick and the picture is excellent.

Love it, love it. It was sooo easy to hookup. I had to call best buy to have them clear out the memory from previous owner. Once that was done I did it. I did not even need a 6 year old to help.

So Far this Player Works Flawlessly. Only Had It For 2 Days Though, But So Far So Good. Easy Setup, Great Picture, Loads Rather Quickly, And Found My Wireless Connection On the 1st Try. Hope This Player Lasts, Its Rather Good Looking Machine. Just 1 Thing, I Wish The USB Connection Was In the Back Of The Machine On Its Side, Not In Front, It Looks Ugly Their.
