I have a full electric stove in my apartment but purchased the Insignia Induction Cooktop on a whim and it's been surprisingly useful. It gets up and holds temp much quicker and solidly than my electric stove. I've been using it for searing proteins and it excels at that. If there's anything I didn't expect it's that this cooktop is a bit bigger than it looks in photos but it definitely has earned a place in my kitchen!

We purchased this item to use it on our dining table. The fan is constantly running when it is turned on (even at pause). I tried to change the temperature setting and power levels thinking it is temporary, but the fan would not stop running. It was too much noise for us to dine with. It is possible that mine is defective, but we decided to return it. If the noise is not an issue for you, it does work as advertised.

I like induction cooktop. You get instant heat. Only con is by nature it only works with stainless steel or similar metals.

Great for hot pot! Easy to use, just plug in and works in seconds. You don’t need to worry about burn by the hot surface.

Purchased this on sale. It works well on heating up quickly. My only issue is the heat won't sustain, and it is noticeable when searing foods as the sizzle dies down and then picks back up.

Great cook top. Works very fast. My only complaint is doesn't work with every pan. The pan has to be magnetic on the bottom.

This has made my life easier, excellent quality, cooked very quickly. It is worth buying and you don't have to spend a lot of time cleaning. I recommend it.

This item is perfect if you want to make a quick meal. Hamburgers, steaks, pork chops, hot dogs and even pancakes are a snap. Just heat up an induction skillet and you can make something really good in just a few minutes. Induction type cookware must be used. If a magnet can attach to the pan, you can use it on this unit.

Perfect for small space. Be sure to pay close attention to the type of pans you can use on this item.

Excellent product! Wanted to give induction a tryout, and this was the perfect solution. It works great, easy to keep clean, and we can put it away when not needed. Now we are considering a full size range, but for now, this little unit is perfect. One of my favorite features is the option to choose between a power setting (2-8) or a specific temperature (220-440). The whole family seems to enjoy using this little unit.

Added this induction cooktop for my emergency kit and for camping. Paired it with my portable solar panel and battery storage. Keep in mind that you will need induction-type pots and pans. They do not work with every type of metal cookware. I was contemplating between the single or double cooktop. Decided single was best for space in my bug-out kit.

I used it for hotpot. Not noisy, heat is stable. Price is great! Love it.

It is light weight, and small enough to bring on trips for a "home-cooked" meal. There is a carrying handle on the box, which is convenient for travelling, although by design, the plastic handle is loose and easily falls off. Why they design it this way puzzles me, but it's easy to fix - some packing tape secures the handle to the cardboard box easily. It is easy to use. There are two ways of adjusting the power: power or temperature. Particularly I like the temperature control very much. This is very useful when doing deep frying. Something to keep in mind: Switching between these two adjustment modes will cause the device to "forget" the setting in the other mode, and always goes to the highest power/temperature upon switching. This knowledge is useful when boiling soup or noodles to prevent boiling over and create mess. Overall I am satisfied with this portable cooker, and glad I made the purchase.

This induction top was purchased as a portable unit to use in a bar room. Overall this performs nearly as well as our built in kitchen induction top. It is extremely responsive and has provides the level of temperature control you can only find in an induction cooktop. I highly recommend this not only as a secondary cooktop but even as a primary cooktop if you do not already have an induction top in your kitchen.
