I bought this item about two weeks ago but never really used them. They were really good at first but then the part that goes inside your ear broke off. I would not recommend them to anybody.

I had to return another pair of ear buds because of crackling and the stores were all out of Sony because of an earthquake that had happened which I guess stopped production and Best Buy didn't have any in stock, so I gave these a try, great that the wires didn't tangle, but they sounded horrible, you could hear all of the back ground noise with the volume which I don't think worked with these all the way up, finally they got Sony's in at the store so I returned these and got a pair of Sony ear phones.

I bought these less than a month ago and they already don't work. Normal use, not running or any exercise, just simple plugging in to my phone and putting it in my pocket while I walk and commute do work. And still didn't last more than a month, wire damage at the jack.

Just a couple of weeks after I purchased these ear buds, I started noticing crackling in one bud. Then I missed portions of sound. Shortly thereafter the earbud stopped working completely. Now I have only one working earbud which is annoying since these are pretty new.

These headphones sound surprisingly good for the price. The bass is present but not overpowering, mids and high are not insanely but are fairly clear, soundstage is about what you would expect from budget earbuds.
But I cannot recommend them because the construction is really poor. I've bought three pairs and all broke for the same reason. The speaker is on a plastic base that is glued into the metal housing. I wear the earbuds when I'm laying in bed and sometimes roll onto my side, and every time this causes the speaker to come loose from the housing.That small amount of bend should not be enough to break it. This can be fixed with a dab of superglue, assuming you haven't broken the two hair-thin wires connecting the speaker to the rest of your headphones, but you shouldn't have to.
Spend a couple buck more and get the skullcandy ink'd or the low end sony's.

Another bad purchase. Insignia makes good usb cables but the ear buds are not of the same quality. Stick to names like Sony for ear buds.
