Pros: Paired with my Nikon D7100. The Nikon price for the same product is $350 so if you're a amateur like me that doesn't wanna spend that much this is it. Does a good job focusing and powerful enough. I recommend try to use it on the lower power settings. Took 350 pics and batteries still good. Cons:Takes a few seconds to recharge especially when using on high flash power. If used intensely batteries will get very warm and it stops triggering. Would of been even nicer to come with a diffuser. Hint: Take with you 3-4 packs of batteries and when you shot intensely you change and let them cool down.

The product manual is very comprehensive and the flash itself is self explanatory. Very easy and fast to learn and use. Makes sense, great price and the flash quality is consistent. Construction quality is good and the flash color itself is great for skin tones. Very nice for indoor photo shoots.

This flash is everything the packaging says. It is a powerful unit able to deliver manual power during daylight and TTL meters perfect fill flash. I have used it as a single flash and as part of a three flash series. I would not hesitate to buy another one. This flash has a solid build and a firm feeling. Buy with confidence and feel even better as this low price get you a flash equal to many priced several times more expensive. I use it with a Nikon D3200, and D7200.

Flash Wireless is Line of Sight, Not Radio

This flash works well with my Nikon D5300. Wish the wireless function was radio linked like the Nikon flashes are. This flash works by line of sight in wireless mode and requires the on-camera flash to fire to trigger the remote flashes. Not as nice as the Nikon setup, but you get what you pay for. And this flash does a good job of throwing a lot of light onto your subject at a good price! I bought two.

I was in need of a well rounded & fairly priced external flash for my canon 6D. I found this Insignia external flash and i have to say for the price its a really good working flash. Powerful enough to light a group of people.

I am new to photography, so I didn't want to spend too much money, just to learn to use an external flash. Works great on my Nikon Camera and you can't beat the price. Will definetely recommend this product. Pictures came out great, better than I had ever expected.

I purchased the Insignia external flash for my Nikon D3300 as I wanted something that would give me more control while also producing a farther reaching flash while letting me attach accessories such as dampeners. I looked at models from Nikon and various other manufacturers but they were pricey. Nikon's flashes start at $150 (or about $250 if you want one with the same features as the Insignia model) and 3rd party lights, from companies like Energizer, start at $100. I was going to pull the trigger on the Energizer flash until I saw the Insignia flash. It's lightweight, automatically worked with my Nikon D3300, and even operates wirelessly. I can put the flash anywhere withing a ~20ft radius of my camera and it will work. It's a nice feature giving me the option to light my photos from different positions. I've taken a couple of shots pointing down on a subject with light coming from straight in front of the subject. The flash even comes with a small stand so you can set it down on any flat surface. You can adjust the intensity of the flash, there are 6 different settings. I normally leave the flash on the middle setting as that seems to work best for most situations. I also mainly have the flash pointing directly up at all times. That way the subjects/objects I'm taking a picture of receive indirect light. That helps eliminate bright spots and reflections. I'm sure flashes from Nikon perform better than this but they start at a price that twice as a high for something with little to no controls. My main issue with the flash is that it runs off of four AA batteries while other flash systems are rechargeable. I was able to get a good three weekend's worth of pictures out of the flash before needing to replace the batteries so it will last a while. I just think that devices like this should have built-in batteries or use rechargeable battery packs. AA batteries are big, heavy, and take up a lot of space. Insignia could have made an even lighter flash with a custom battery that would have lasted longer than four AA batteries. But, seeing as how this flash is $30 less than the lest expensive 3rd party flash I came across (made by Energizer, it too uses either AA or AAA batteries), I can make do with having to carry extra AA batteries in my camera bag. I will probably upgrade to a Nikon flash later down the line but this one from Insignia will last a while. Plus it has allowed me to expand my photo skills and abilities without having to spend a lot of money. I've been able to grasps the basics of having an external flash along with discovering the settings (and position) I need to use in order to produce some great shots. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to expand their Nikon's flash capabilities without spending a lot while also learning a bit more about DSLR photography. I will definitely keep this flash even if I upgrade to one from Nikon. Even if I don't use it as a primary flash, it will be nice as a secondary, wireless flash.

When you look at the actual Nikon branded flashes, this is a steal. Works just like any of them. It has the different power levels and can be angled to shoot up, which is what I prefer for my photos. Straight on flash looks too bright. Great product!

Got this flash to take pics of artwork in generally low light. Within five minutes of unboxing, I was able to set the camera to activate the flash, install it and start taking shots. It's intuitive to use and gets the expected results. The light diffusion screen is useful.

Not wanting to spend $300+ for a Nikon Speedlight, I was excited to try this Insignia flash. While its build quality isn't as good as Nikon's, its operation is flawless - it works automatically with Nikon's Creative Lighting System, and even functions as an off-camera slave flash. If you're serious about photography, go get one.

The flash worked as well as I expected. It doesn't have all the features of the Nikon branded one, but then again it's only 1/4 of the price. More than adequate for family pictures on vacation, etc.

I have used this flash on both the Nikon d5300 and the d750. With the d750 this flash will not be setup as a true master and will have to be used in manual mode or as a slave off of the primary built in flash. This is more a limitation of the d5300 as opposed to this flash. Paired with the d750 this flash performs as it should and should be considered an excellent alternative to flashes 3x the cost.

For the price this external flash delivers satisfactory performance. Does not provide adequate lighting for far away subjects but it performs better than the camera integrated flash.
