huge upgrade from my i5-8400. much faster and a makes for a great pair with a high end graphics card. just make sure you don't get a 3090 and bottleneck it. runs a little hotter than my 8400 but that makes sense as it's an unlocked chip and uses more wattage so just be prepared to see a 3-9 degree temperature increase

After doing much research i decided to go with this CPU because the i7 and i9 of the 9th gen can be overkill because not many apps support then and processing power is going to wait. Works great for games and video editing. Works great with the CORSAIR - Hydro Series H100i PRO Liquid CPU Cooler 120mm Liquid Cooling System with RGB Lighting - Black/Gray.

So obviously you're not going to be able to just go out and buy this and be able to gain, you need a good graphics card to go with it. However the additional workload is handled by my GPU in conjunction with this CPU. I can play most games out there, and it only gets a little hot compared to AMD. I like AMD better, but this was a fine addition. It's fast enough to do what I need, and I like the game and go online and watch videos, multitask. The only drawback I can think of is the triangles are difficult to see, and you have to be really careful when installing this.

Performs as it should. Looking forward to overclocking soon.

After having computer issues, up the walls (crashing 3-4 times a day), for a month, I decided it was time to upgrade. I talked with tech guys and they told me that for what I was wanting to do, this is everything I need with room to upgrade. It has done everything I expected it to, and been more than capable of the games that I run.

This is a great CPU for gaming. Runs pretty cool as well.

There is alot more power in this CPU than the specs would you to believe. You just have to purchase a good and large cooler? a motherboard designed for OC and spend some time learning the details of what each setting does. Bought this instead of an i7 and have it easily stomping other OC'd 9th gen i7s.

Paired with an AIO cooler I was able to overclock this to 5.0ghz on a MSI board also purchased from Best Buy! Love this for gaming but will be replaced soon with the next paper launch release of 5000 series AMD chips or upcoming Intel's release to counter AMD. We shall see!

The i5-9600k is plenty of processor for most people. It’s performed well so far and typically hits no more than 60c with heavy loads (that’s with water cooling but not aggressive pump or fan speeds; that’s also in a case without the best airflow). The cpu was a great upgrade from a 4th gen i5.

Used it inside my PC for a few years before upgrading, great for mid range PC gaming. Can certainly handle a lot of games on high settings if it's not CPU intensive. Definitely recommended for budget build.

Have been using this CPU for over 3 months and can say it is pretty darn great! Very good for the average gaming and handles anything I throw at it. Not much of a PC expert but it can definitely can any kind of job done. Came in perfect condition as well.

Intel - Core i5-9600K Six-Core 3.70 GHz Desktop Processor is paired with my MSI Intel Mother Board and drives a GE Force Video Card that is perfect for the most detailed PC Video Games. I've never owned a 3.7 GHz speed Processor and it makes me amazed at the blazing speed.

I got this part for a great price because it was on sale and I had a $10 credit that was mailed to me. So far so good. Handles my games, streaming and music very well! Employee was new but very helpful to the best of his knowledge. Happy with my purchase.

As a casual gamer this is plenty fast and does the job. I play WoW & FFXIV. Then as for internet searching & streaming it's plenty fast and works just fine. If this sounds like you this is all you need. I paired DDR4 2666, GTX 1070 with it, works great.

I got this cpu for a pretty decent price compared to other i7s, and after playing around with it for a few weeks, I'm happy with what I have. It just runs a little hot sometimes, but I managed to get that sorted out with better thermal paste and a good cooler.
